Glyphesis taoplesius Wunderlich, 1969 is a very rare spider species that has only been found in a few locations in Europe. Two specimens of G. taoplesius were recently collected in the Bug river valley in eastern Poland. It is the first record of this species in Poland. A morphological description of the male and a distribution map of the species are given in the paper. G. taoplesius is a hygrophilous spider typically found near bodies of water and the Polish specimens were found in a periodically flooded meadow.

Commelina dielsii is a species notable for being, together with the southern Brazilian C. catharinensis, the only native Commelina from the Americas with yellow petals. The species was up until now only known from the type gathering, made in 1878 in Entre Ríos province, north-eastern Argentina. Because it had not been collected since then, the species was considered as likely extinct. We present here the rediscovery of this species after 140 years, as the species was recently found in western Uruguay, in pampean environment. This also corresponds to the first record of the species in Uruguay. We also present field photographs, a morphological description, a distribution map for the species and its conservation status assessment.

Melothria (Cucurbitaceae): A New Genus Record of Naturalized Cucumber in Sumatra. Floribunda 6(5): 183–187.  — The first record of a naturalized cucumber genus Melothria (Cucurbitaceae) is presented for Sumatra, represented by one cosmopolitan species Melothria pendula. The species has been found during an exploration in the northern part of the island. A morphological description, distribution map, brief discussions, and photographs are given.

This is the first record of Leptosynapta inhaerens (O.F. Müller, 1776) in Belgian marine waters and adds a second apodid species, the first being Leptosynapta minuta (Becher, 1906), to the Belgian holothuroid fauna. This paper contains a morphological description of the specimens, the habitat characteristics, and includes a world distribution map of L. inhaerens. Relationships between L. inhaerens and environmental data are discussed.

The corticioid basidiomycete Jaapia ochroleuca (Bres.) Nannf. et J. Erikss. is recorded for the first time in the European Russia from the «Bryansky Les» Nature Reserve (Bryansk Region). The taxonomic position of the species is defined briefly. Its morphological description and data on distribution and ecology are provided. The details of microscopic structure of the collected specimen are illustrated.

The family Tischeriidae is recorded from Madagascar for the first time. Coptotriche alavelona Lees and Stonis, sp. n., is described from high elevation tropical moist forest of Madagascar, and its proposed generic placement discussed. DNA of this species has been extracted and conserved for future phylogenetic or barcoding studies. The external features and male genitalia are figured and described. An updated checklist and a distribution map for all 13 Tischeriidae species currently recorded from the Afrotropics are provided.

During an extensive survey of the crayfish fauna of the lower catchments of the Gordon River, south-western Tasmania. two species of crayfish were collected: Engaeus cisternarius and three subspecies of Parastacoides tasmanicus (P. t. tasmanicus, P. t. inermis and P. t. insignis). From this survey and an intensive study in a small area of the Olga River valley, distinct habitat preferences of each of the forms were recognized. E. cisteinavius was restricted to the areas north and west of the Gordon River where it was found only in clay and sandy soils under rainforest. P. t. tasmanicus was found in waterlogged soils, peats and sands on valley floors covered either with wet sedgeland or rainforest. P. t. inermis was found in two disjunct habitats: well- drained slopes and hillsides covered in heath vegetation. and under rocks in small creeks in rainforests. P. t. insignis occupied an intermediate habitat between P. t. tasmanicus and the non-creek dwelling, P. t. inermis, but was restricted geographically to the extreme south-west of the study area. The taxonomic status of the P. tasmanicus subspecies is discussed.

A new species of Persicaria, P. humboldtiana, endemic to a narrow area of waterfalls in Corupá, southern Brazil, is described in the present paper. The locus classicus of the new species is well-known for plant endemisms. A complete morphological description, original pictures, a distribution map, and a morphological comparison with the similar Eurasian species P. minor (≡ Polygonum minus) are given. The name Polygonum minus is lecto- and epitypified on, respectively, a Morison’s illustration and a specimen preserved at BM.

We provide the first record of Anolis fuscoauratus D’Orbigny, 1837 for the state of Rio Grande do Norte and a distribution map for the species in the Atlantic Rainforest of northeastern Brazil. The record of A. fuscoauratus in the municipality of Tibau do Sul, state of Rio Grande do Norte, represents a distribution extension of 170 km northwestern from the municipality of Cabedelo, state of Paraíba. This is the northernmost record of this species in the Atlantic Rainforest.

Morphological Variations

The parasitoid wasp Clistopyga melanoptera Castillo, Sääksjärvi & Bordera, 2016 was described recently and was known only from the type locality, Cusco, Peru. Here we provide a first record of this species for Brazil, at Manaus, 1700 km from the type locality. A distribution map, images and morphological variations are provided.
