Well-defined optical properties are essential in determining the quality of printed papers. The mea-surement of optical properties, such as print gloss, as a function of time provides a means of studying ink-setting behavior and paper-ink interactions. This study compares three different methods for measuring dynamic print gloss: a dynamic gloss meter, a diffractive-optical-element-based gloss meter (DOG), and a polarized-light reflec-tometer. Four double-coated papers were printed at varying ink levels. This paper compares and discusses the tech-nical details of the measurement techniques. Dynamic print gloss results are evaluated in the light of current ink-set-ting theories. Each of the methods is highly applicable to ink-setting studies. With low inking level, the paper properties, surface roughness, and absorption are important for gloss development. Printing conditions such as speed, nip geometry, and materials have significant influence. As the amount of ink used in printing is increased, the printing conditions start to influence the gloss dynamics considerably, especially on glossy papers.

Dusting and blanket pollution are of particular interest in offset printing. Papers must be free of dust and loose particles to drastically reduce the wash interval of the blankets. Those particles are mainly generated during converting operations, such as sheeting. Considering the end-customer point of view, the visual aspect of the cut appears to be very important. To study in detail the influence of the sheeting parameters and paper properties on cut quality, a new test method to quantify the cut quality of woodfree coated papers has been developed. In particular, this method takes into consideration the state of the coating layer near the cutting edges.

The microgeometry of cut surfaces is one important characteristic of surface quality, since it has significant influence on the tribological properties of working surfaces. In addition to the ability to plan the economical effectiveness of cutting and the accuracy of workpieces the ability to plan the quality of machined surfaces has also emphasized importance. This is why the predictability of surface roughness in planning of technological processes is more and more important. More and more opportunities presenting themselves and one of these is the estimation of the expected value of roughness of the machined surface on the basis of the theoretical value of roughness. The paper focuses on the introduction of a method to describe a mathematical relation between the theoretical and the measured roughness indexes in cutting with tools having defined edge geometry, thus the planning may be more accurate.

Recently we have developed a form of polarization microscopy that forms images using optical properties that have previously been limited to macroscopic samples. This has given us a new window into the distribution of structure on a microscopic scale. We have coined the name differential polarization microscopy to identify the images obtained that are due to certain polarization dependent effects. Differential polarization microscopy has its origins in various spectroscopic techniques that have been used to study longer range structures in solution as well as solids. The differential scattering of circularly polarized light has been shown to be dependent on the long range chiral order, both theoretically and experimentally. The same theoretical approach was used to show that images due to differential scattering of circularly polarized light will give images dependent on chiral structures. With large helices (greater than the wavelength of light) the pitch and radius of the helix could be measured directly from these images.

This study departs from the hajj bailout financing facility which is a booming product because of the customer's interest, but in this case there is a difference in the target achievement between Bank Syariah Mandiri (BSM) Ujungberung KCP which is less successful in improving the hajj bailout products while the Rancaekek KCP is very superior in one consolidation Ahmad Yani Branch Office Bandung. This is what is interesting for researchers to carry out this research, the difference constraints include service quality and promotion factors. This phenomenon raises problems that must be examined, namely how the influence of service quality and promotion of market share expansion products hajj bailouts at Bank Syariah Mandiri KCP Ujungberung and KCP Rancaekek Bandung. This study aims academically to contribute in the study of Islamic economics in worksheets, especially the quality of service and promotion of market share expansion and practically expected to be able to provide input to all employees of BSM KCP Ujungberung regarding the quality of service and promotion of market expansion of bailout products. Hajj that has been successfully carried out by BSM KCP Rancaekek.The conclusion of this study is that there is a significant influence of service quality on the expansion of market share by 53.3% with a strong correlation of 0.730 and through t test, where t counts at 8.245 (> t table), then H_0 is rejected and H_i is accepted. Furthermore, there is a significant influence of promotion on the expansion of market share by 30.3% with a moderate / sufficient correlation of 0.550 through t test, where t counts is 4.219 (> t table), then H_ (0) is rejected and H_i is accepted. Then there is a significant influence of service quality and promotion simultaneously to the expansion of market share by 60.6% and a strong correlation of 0.784 and through Test F, where F count is 67.023 (> F table), then 〖H〗 _ ( 0) rejected and H_i accepted.

The main focus of this research is on the self-concept and pedagogical competence of the teacher and its influence on the quality of the learning process both partially and double. The research method used is a survey method in which the authors go directly to the empirical level by distributing questionnaires to 47 teachers. The processing and analysis techniques used are linear and multiple regression. The results of the study show that: (1) There is a positive and significant influence of the teacher's self-concept on the quality of the learning process (2) There is a positive and significant influence on the teacher's pedagogical competence on the quality of the learning process. (3) There is a positive and significant effect of self-concept and pedagogical competence of teachers together on the quality of the learning process. Therefore, the authors suggest: (1) So that the teacher improves health and appearance because the results of the study show that the weakness of the teacher's self-concept is in the appearance and significance of the body. So that the teacher needs to be given enlightenment related to how to maintain health and fitness through the implementation of joint gymnastics or conducting group discussions related to the dirt to maintain a prime body. (2) To face future competition and improve the quality of education it is deemed necessary to further increase the pedagogical competence of teachers, especially those related to planning and evaluation of learning.

The contact belt of the gate assembly is the main part of high pressure fittings. The serviceability of the fittings assembly as whole depends on the air-tightness and quality of the mating surfaces. The technology of diamond burnishing allows to increase the interface of the nodes by red ucing the surface roughness of the metal-to-metal seal. The real experience for improving of the fittings contact belt due to the use of diamond burnishing of the nozzles seats and the conical surface of the rods.

Background: The optical properties of nanomaterials have evolved enormously with the introduction of nanotechnology. The property of materials to absorb and/or emit specific wavelength has turned them into one of the most favourite candidates to be effectively utilized in different sensing applications e.g organic light emission diodes (OLEDs) sensors, gas sensors, biosensors and fluorescent sensors. These materials have been reported as a sensor in the field of tissue and cell imaging, cancer detection and detection of environmental contaminants etc. Fluorescent nanomaterials are heling in rapid and timely detection of various contaminants that greatly impact the quality of life and food, that is exposed to these contaminants. Later, all the contaminants have been investigated to be most perilous entities that momentously affect the life span of the animals and humans who use those foods which have been contaminated. Objective: In this review, we will discuss about various methods and approaches to synthesize the fluorescent nanoparticles and quantum dots (QDs) and their applications in various fields. The application will include the detection of various environmental contaminants and bio-medical applications. We will discuss the possible mode of action of the nanoparticles when used as sensor for the environmental contaminants as well as the surface modification of some fluorescent nanomaterials with anti-body and enzyme for specific detection in animal kingdom. We will also describe some RAMAN based sensors as well as some optical sensing-based nanosensors. Conclusion: Nanotechnology has enabled to play with the size, shape and morphology of materials in the nanoscale. The physical, chemical and optical properties of materials change dramatically when they are reduced to nanoscale. The optical properties can become choosy in terms of emission or absorption of wavelength in the size range and can result in production of very sensitive optical sensor. The results show that the use of fluorescent nanomaterials for the sensing purposes are helping a great deal in the sensing field.
