In agile, students learn through the gradual implementation of iterative projects with information exchanges between team members. Various research works focused on the assessment of innovative teaching methods to promote the acquisition of professional skills (e.g. project-based learning, active and collaborative learning, flipped classes, digital assisted training, etc.). In addition, adaptive learning is a pedagogical method favoring tailor-made e-learning to respond to the acquisition of certain skills, through the adaptation of pedagogical resources according to the learners’ needs. Therefore, to establish a model based on these different methods in order to benefit from their advantages, we based our work on the BPM (Business Process Management) approach, which constitutes the means of implementing the desired agility in the learning process. Thanks to such a cyclical and continuous improvement approach, the learning process will evolve and take into account not only new needs but also the specificities of each involved actor (learner or teacher).

With the appearance of the COVID-19 pandemic, the practice of e-learning in the cloud makes it possible to:avoid the problem of overloading the institutions infrastructure resources, manage a large number of learners and improve collaboration and synchronous learning. In this paper, we propose a new e-leaning process management approach in cloud named CLP-in-Cloud (for Collaborative Learning Process in Cloud). CLP-in-Cloud is composed of two steps: i) design general, configurable and multi-tenant e-Learning Process as a Service (LPaaS) that meets different needs of institutions. ii) to fulfill the user needs, developpe a functional and non-functional awareness LPaaS discovery module. For functional needs, we adopt the algorithm A* and for non-functional needs we adopt a linear programming algorithm. Our developed system allows learners to discover and search their preferred configurable learning process in a multi-tenancy Cloud architecture. In order to help to discover interesting process, we come up with a recommendation module. Experimentations proved that our system is effective in reducing the execution time and in finding appropriate results for the user request.

The rapid development of information technology can answer problems that arise after the Covid-19 pandemic, especially problems in the learning process. Information technology that plays a role in the world of education which is currently booming is online learning. Online learning is different from ordinary learning, online learning places more emphasis on student's ability to receive and process information. Online learning serves as a liaison between teachers and students through the internet network that can be accessed anytime and anywhere. There are various online media used in the learning process including; WhatsApp, Google Meet, Zoom, Classroom, and even e-learning. But among these media, the easiest to use is WhatsApp, which is easily accessible at every level of education. Online learning is now an effective medium for the learning process at all levels. For an effective and optimal online learning process, there are several learning models offered by experts during the Covid-19 pandemic, including; Online Model, Offline Model, Online e-learning Model, Project-Based Learning, and Blended Learning.

The research “teaching and learning process by integrating information and communication technology for Islamic private schools in the three southernmost provinces of Thailand in the 21st Century" aimed to determine the integration of information technology for the design and development of innovative forms of teaching in line with the current situation of Islamic private schools in the three southern border provinces. The research scope focused on the development process for teachers to develop innovative forms of teaching to enable learners with lifelong learning skills. Teachers also were able to apply ICT in designing and developing innovative models for teaching to meet the 21st century skills. The participation and action research methods were used by allowing teachers to play a researcher’s role in conducting joint research with the team.  Project-based learning instruction method with ICT integrated was used. The results of this research is the innovative model of teaching that integrated information technology to provide students with the 21st century skills which is the 4P-2E model.  The impacts of this research to learners are: (1) Learners are creative, they enjoy the project-based learning and the integration of ICT in learning. (2) Learners are able to extend their own knowledge and are equipped with the 21st century skills and (3) Learning achievement of learners has improved significantly.   Keywords: 4P-2E Model, Teaching and learning process, ICT integration, Innovative teaching and learning, Project-based learning

The sophisticated information and technology (IT) development can be the answer for various problems post the covid-19 pandemic, particularly the teaching and learning challenges. The role of IT that is booming nowadays is online learning. Online learning is obviously different from regular learning. In this mode of learning, the students are required to have the ability to receive and process information. It serves as media that connect teachers and students who are being remote from one another at any time and anyplace. There are various media utilized to perform online learning such as WhatsApp, Google Meet, Zoom, Google Classroom, and other e-learning platforms. Among all these media, though, WhatsApp apparently appointed as the simplest and easiest media to access in all levels of education. Online learning at current is the effective medium to carry on the teaching and learning process in all levels of education. For the effectiveness of online teaching and learning process during the covid-19 pandemic, there have been a number of learning models suggested by the expert such as remote learning, face to face learning, e-learning, project-based learning, and Blended Learning.

Higher education institutes like universities cannot ignore the need to teach well known information systems, like ERP systems. Case studies are the most chosen way to introduce the handling of these systems to fulfill the needs of the international employment market and to provide a practical focus within the education. Effective teaching concepts have to improve this situation by considering the pedagogical aspects, which support the individual learning process of each student. This chapter discusses the changes and challenges of enterprise systems in higher education and provides an overview about the learning theory and the actual learning supporting technology as a basis for our concept. The approach considers actual needs of higher education, e.g. present learning in a lab as well as e-Learning courses supported by new methods in technology-enhanced learning by recording students’ behavior to guide them through the system. Therefore the authors introduce an Adaptive Learning Cycle which considers tracking and analyzing results deduced with mining methods to improve the learning progress. The aim is to achieve positive influences on the progress of the learning process to build up professional competence.

In this chapter, the authors introduce a global synchronous e-learning platform that is used for teaching virtual collaboration, multicultural communication, and business process management. The platform has been used in joint learning sessions between international universities, and the data of the study has been gathered from self-reflecting essays of the participating university students. The authors analyze the data from the point of view of how the students create a social and cultural identity in this totally virtual environment in which no student will probably ever meet face-to-face his or her team members and collaboration partners. They consider both the environment as a social construction as well as an environment that is technology supported. In this respect, the chapter has several implications for educators in the present global and ever-technology-richer university environment.

Learning is a process to acquire new knowledge. Ideally, this process is the result of an active interaction of key cognitive processes, such as perception, imagery, organization, and elaboration. Quality learning has emphasized on designing a course curriculum or learning process, which can elicit the cognitive processing of learners. However, most e-learning systems nowadays are resources-oriented instead of process-oriented. These systems were designed without adequate support of pedagogical principles to guide the learning process. They have not explained the sequence of how the knowledge was acquired, which, in fact, is extremely important to the quality of learning. This study aims to develop an e-learning environment that enables students to get engaged in their learning process by guiding and customizing their learning process in an adaptive way. The expected performance of the Agent-based e-learning Process model is also evaluated by comparing with traditional e-learning models.

Learning is a complex process; an in-depth knowledge of the intricacies of learning processes can help to improve the formulations of effective methods, tools, and technologies to support and enhance learning through the effective management of learning processes. VLEs such as Moodle help facilitate the management of educational courses for students, in particular by helping lecturers and students with course administration. However, the management of the process of learning is inadequate. Once educational course materials are made available on the VLEs, analyses such as what students do with the course materials are difficult to observe in a real-time manner. Therefore, there is a need for the administration and management of the process of learning. This chapter presents a Virtual Learning Process Environment (VLPE) that is based on the Business Process Management (BPM) technology conceptual framework. In contrast to traditional e-learning systems, VLPE focuses on learning process management through the orchestration of flexible education pedagogies around course materials in the form of learning process workflows. Consequently, the effectiveness of any adopted pedagogy can be re-assessed, re-evaluated, and reformed by course designers with the potential to improve course design and learning outcomes.
