Abstract UltrAlloy is a lead-free, enhanced machining product with the inherent benefits of a 6xxx-series alloy. The alloy is produced as a cold-finished rod and bar with strength levels comparable to 6262. The alloy is registered with the Aluminum Association as X6020. Abstract Alcoa 6061 alloy has excellent joining characteristics and good acceptance of applied coatings. It combines relatively high strength, good workability, and high resistance to corrosion. The alloy is widely available. The T8 and T9 tempers offer better chipping characteristics than the T6 temper. Abstract Alcoa C238 is a cold-finished aluminum wrought product developed for applications requiring postbrazing and welding strength. The alloy has good machinability and roll-threading characteristics. It has slightly lower corrosion resistance as compared to 6xxx series alloys. Alloy C238 has excellent welding and very good brazing properties. Initial applications include fittings and connectors that are brazed and/or welded. This product is also available in cold-heading rod that has been used to cold-form connectors. This datasheet provides information on tensile properties.
