Introduction: Skin tumor incidence has increased over the last several decades. A wide range of tumors are encountered in clinical practice. Accurate identification of skin lesions is vital in ensuring malignancies are not missed and that they are treated early to avoid morbidity and mortality.Materials and Methods: A retrospective cross sectional hospital based study on a series of cases was performed in the Department of Pathology, Patan Academy of Health Sciences, Patan Hospital, Lalitpur, Nepal from April 2011 to March 2016. Data from the histopathology database were analyzed using SPSS version 16.0.Results: During the study period, 410 skin biopsies were received, of which 214 (52.2%) were skin neoplasms. Among them, 175 (81.8%) were benign and 39 (18.2%) were malignant neoplasms. Incidence of keratinocytic tumors was highest followed by soft tissue tumors and melanocytic tumors. Intradermal nevus was the most common benign neoplasm. Among the malignant neoplasms, squamous cell carcinoma was most prevalent (46.1%) followed by basal cell carcinoma (15.3%). Skin neoplasms were present in all age groups with maximum number of benign neoplasms prevalent in 21-30 years and malignant in 51-60 years age group. Mean age was 38 years and 58 years for benign and malignant neoplasms respectively.Conclusions: Histopathological evaluation of skin biopsy is an important tool in diagnosis of skin neoplasms. Intradermal nevus and squamous cell carcinoma was the most common benign and malignant neoplasm respectively. Malignant neoplasms were more common in older patients.

Developing country like Bangladesh among 90% of oral malignant neoplasm are arising from squamous layer of oral epithelium which are third leading of this country with severe disfiguration, functiolaesa, psychological impairments and socio-economic hardship. In this study we found the prevalence of OSCC was 6.5% among total cancer patients in the two tertiary level hospitals of Bogura. Male (70%) are affected more than in females (30%). In response to male and female parameter, sex distribution ratio was 2.3:1. The prevalent average age was 55.40 years. About 80% of ulcer site was buccal mucosa then 10 % were lip mucosa. About 80% people were habituated by betel nut, leaf with tobacco chewers. Moreover 46.7% of them were maltreated by quack doctors before. Majority of the patient was in Grade II (56.7%). Correlation between variable in respect of age and cancer grading was explained. According to these study OSCC patients in north bangle region like Bogura was quite high on ( significant p-value ≤ 0.05). Description of oral squamous cell carcinoma on the basis of demographic and clinical profile was the major aim . Most of the cases report with intermediate grade of the disease which often leads to decrease the chance of survival of a patient. So new strategies should be considered to overcome the present situation must be undertaken by oral health programs for the early diagnosis and prevention, build up awareness and management and follow up of oral cancer. <p><em>Sox9</em> is a master regulatory gene involved in developmental processes, stem cells maintenance and tumorigenesis. This gene is expressed in healthy skin but even in several skin neoplasms, where its expression patterns often resembles those of the developing hair follicle. In this study, samples from eleven different types of canine skin neoplasms (squamous papilloma, squamous cell carcinoma, infundibular keratinizing acanthoma, inferior tricholemmoma, isthmic tricholemmoma, trichoblastoma, trichoepitelioma, malignant trichoepitelioma, pilomatricoma, subungual keratoacanthoma, subungual squamous cell carcinoma) were immunohistochemically stained and evaluated for <em>Sox9</em> with the aim to correlate tumor phenotype with molecular characteristics that may help to better define tumor development, contribute to its diagnosis and clinical management. Keratoacanthoma excluded, all the skin neoplasms examined showed a variable positivity to <em>Sox9</em>, especially in the basal layers, but with major intensity in neoplasms developing from the bulge region of the hair follicle, as trichoblastoma. According to our results, <em>Sox9</em> could be employed as a stem cell marker to better assess the role of stem cells in canine epidermal and follicular tumors.</p>

Squamous cell carcinoma of the vulva is predominantly a disease of postmenopausal women; it accounts for 5% of all female genital malignant neoplasms. Postoperative recovery in two among the five operated patient was late as their vulval wound underwent dehiscence. Other three patients had an uneventful post operative period. Histopathology report showed Squamous cell carcinoma in all the cases. Lymphnodes was negative for malignant cells in all the cases. This case report of a 20-year-old white woman is the youngest patient with a documented squamous cell carcinoma in a solitary nonirradiated laryngeal papilloma. It is rare for malignant degeneration of solitary squamous cell papilloma to occur in a patient under the age of 40. This case is also unique in that most solitary laryngeal papilloma with or without neoplasm occur in males. Most reported malignant neoplasms in squamous papilloma have been previously treated with irradiation. Because approximately 2% to 3% of solitary laryngeal papilloma have malignant neoplasms, adequate biopsy of the lesion and thorough histologic examination must always be done.

Limb lesions of skin, soft tissue and bone are commonly encountered. They include a multitude of non neoplastic, benign and malignant diseases ranging from lipoma to brosarcoma and from epidermal cyst to squamous cell carcinoma. An insight of the pattern of various limb diseases in relation to site, age, and type of lesion assists in better comprehension of differential diagnosis for histopathologists. A retrospective study of histopathologically diagnosed cases of Material & Methods: 47 limb lesion patients from June 2020 to May 2021 was undertaken. A total 47 cases included 28 male and 19 female, Results: 55% of cases belong to age group 21 to 50 years. 13 (28%) cases were of upper extremity and 34 (72%) from lower extremity. 15 (34%) cases were non-neoplastic, 13 (28%) were benign lesion and rest 19 (38%) were malignant lesions. Lower limb lesions are more common than Conclusion: upper limb lesions. Squamous cell carcinoma is the most common malignant neoplasm and lipoma is the most common benign disease of extremity. Pyogenic granuloma and epidermal cyst were found to be the most common non-neoplastic extremity lesions. Fibrosarcoma was the most common type of sarcoma observed in 9% cases. Chronic osteomyelitis was the most common bony lesion.

Oral squamous cell carcinoma is the most common type of oral malignant neoplasm. As per literature, squamous cell carcinomas of the alveolar ridge account for 9% of all the oral carcinomas. The oral squamous cell carcinoma shares clinical similarity with various forms of inflammatory gingival lesions and is often misdiagnosed in our routine dental practice. The dentist should have precise knowledge regarding the clinical manifestation of this deadly disease as early diagnosis and prompt treatment can reduce morbidity and mortality of the disease.

Abstract Background Genital malignant neoplasms in mares are relatively rare. The treatment involve surgical removal of the tumour masses, chemotherapy or both. Case presentation Two elderly warmblood mares, aged 16 and 20 were presented in University Clinic with the lumpy lesions at the region of perineum and left labia. Surgical removals of tumour masses were performed on standing animals. Removed tissues were subjected to histopathological examination which confirmed SCC. Conclusions Clinical and ultrasound examination of reproductive organs in both mares showed no inflammatory or neoplastic changes. Both mares healed within 2 weeks after surgery and showed no signs of tumour recurrence for the following year despite no chemotherapy treatment.

Nevus sebaceous is a congenital epidermal hamartoma characterized by hyperplastic changes to the epidermis and adnexa. Nevus sebaceous is associated with an elevated risk of cutaneous neoplasms, most often benign; however, malignant neoplasms, most notably basal cell carcinoma, can also present in these patients. Although a rare occurrence, more often affecting adult patients, squamous cell carcinomas have also been reported to arise at the site of pre-existing nevus sebaceous. Herein we report a unique case of a patient with basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma arising concurrently in the same nevus sebaceous.

Background: Wide range of vulval lesions have been described with similar modes of presentation. Benign and inflammatory lesions form the major chunk. Squamous cell carcinoma is the most reported malignant entity. Aim was to review the vulval lesions received in our departmentMethods: We studied the data from the archives of the Department of Pathology for a period of 5 years from January 2014 to December 2018 for vulval biopsies and specimens sent for histopathological examination. The final diagnoses were divided into non-neoplastic, neoplastic and non- specific.Results: Age of women ranged from 22 to 86 years (mean 54.3±3.6) with the maximum number of patients between 50 to 60 years of age. Most common form of clinical presentation was an itchy white elevated lesion on the vulva (72 cases, 62.6%). The most common site for the lesions was labia minora (90 cases, 78.2%). Non neoplastic lesions were seen in 53 cases and neoplastic lesions were seen in 52 cases. There were 28 (53.8%) benign lesions while 24 cases (46.1%) were malignant. Squamous cell carcinoma was the most frequently diagnosed form accounting for 20 cases (83.3%). Rare tumours like Malignant melanoma, Merkel cell carcinoma and Neuroendocrine carcinoma formed 16.6% (n=4). Seven cases were premalignant. Two cases had non-specific histologic diagnosis showing mild chronic inflammation.Conclusions: Previous studies have reported that non-neoplastic lesions form around 70% of cases. However, in our study we found that the non-neoplastic and neoplastic lesions form equal number of cases (46%) which may be attributed to increased awareness or geographical variation.
