The aim of this article is to present the first critical edition of Vives’s Satellitium sive Symbola, a collection of symbols or wise sayings that was first published in 1524. Along with the symbols and the commentary given by Vives, a short introduction is provided, which outlines both the circumstances of composition and the main themes. The novelty of this edition lies in the fact that the number of items has been set to 239, twenty-six more than those contained in the traditional edition published by Gregori Maians (Maiansius) in 1783.

Resum: Aquest treball ofereix l’edició d’un tractat de falconeria, anònim, escrit en català i que, segurament, el podem datar en el segle XV. El manuscrit 102 que es conserva a la Biblioteca de la Universitat de Barcelona conté dos textos; en primer lloc, una traducció feta per Antoni Canals d’una obra de Petrarca i, en segon lloc, un recull de receptes mèdiques destinades a les aus de caça. Aquest article consta de tres parts. Primerament, presentem una succinta introducció per a conéixer les característiques d’elaboració i el contingut del manuscrit. A continuació, fem una aprofundida anàlisi lèxica de la terminologia tècnica referida a la falconeria que té dues parts: una proposta de classificació del lèxic específic en els diferents camps semàntics i un glossari dels vocables més destacats. Finalment, oferim l’edició crítica d’aquest tractat de falconeria. Paraules clau: falconeria, edat mitjana, lèxic, edició, català. Abstrat: This is a edition of an anonymous treatise on falconry, written in Catalan, and which can be, most probably, dated back to the 15th century. Manuscript 102, kept in the Library of the University of Barcelona, contains two texts: the first is Antoni Canals’ translation of a text by Petrarch, and the second a text which contains a set of medical prescriptions for game birds. This article consists of three parts: firstly, a short introduction on the writing and contents of the manuscript; secondly, an in-depth lexical analysis of the technical terminology on falconry divided into two parts: a proposal for the classification of the specific lexicon in the different semantic fields, and a glossary of the more relevant terms; and finally, a critical edition of this treatise on falconry. [The Dominicans in Tarnobrzeg during the Second World War in the light of a monastic chronicle. A critical edition] The aim of the article is to edit an unknown and unused source, i.e. the chronicle of the Tarnobrzeg monastery from 1939–1945. The edition was preceded by a short introduction to the history of the Dominican community in Tarnobrzeg. For the almost entire period of the occupation, Father Fabian Madura was the prior of the monastery in Tarnobrzeg, and in his activities – also for the benefit of the needy – he was characterized by great courage. He acted on many levels: among others he organized aid for the displaced persons from Wielkopolska, or a kitchen for the poorest. He was active in ministry: he founded a choir which performed numerous charity concerts. Other fathers and brothers who lived in the monastery helped him in all the activities. The source delivers a lot of information about the life of monks in Tarnobrzeg and the history of the city in the war period. The entries from September 1939, when the Nazis invaded the city, are particularly interesting, as well as from the turn of July and August 1944 – at that time Tarnobrzeg was „liberated” by the Soviet army. As a result of these activities, many buildings – including those belonging to the Dominicans – were seriously damaged, which is also mentioned in the presented source.

The author discusses the history of the Jews of Chmielnik, a town situated 30 kilometres away from Kielce: from a short introduction covering the inter-war period, through the German invasion, ghetto formation, everyday life n the ghetto, deportations and the fate of the survivors. The author extensively describes social organisations and their activity in Chmielnik  (Judenrat, Ha Szomer ha-Cair), as well as the contacts between the Jews and the Poles.

RESUMO: Sabemos que há autores que Pessoa leu e que influenciaram a sua obra, mas nem todos os livros lidos estavam na sua Biblioteca particular. Alguns foram lidos na Biblioteca Nacional de Lisboa (hoje de Portugal), outros na biblioteca de Henrique Rosa, irmão do seu padrasto; e ainda outros na Biblioteca da Academia das Ciências de Lisboa. Tendo por base a edição crítica dos Escritos sobre Génio e Loucura (2006), procura-se aqui referir leituras relacionadas com a desrazão e dar continuidade a uma metodologia referida neste artigo, lançando, assim, uma série de reptos para futuras investigações: o cruzamento do espólio pessoano com a biblioteca particular (ou com outras públicas ou privadas), do escritor com o leitor, da teorização com a aprendizagem. É através desses cruzamentos que se poderá aprofundar a crítica e o conhecimento de alguns textos, assim como do contexto em que foram escritos.ABSTRACT: We know there are authors that Pessoa read and that influenced his work, but not all the books he read were in his private library. Some he read in the National Library of Lisbon (now of Portugal), others in the library of Henrique Rosa, his stepfather’s brother; and others yet in the Library of the Lisbon Academy of Sciences. Based on the critical edition of the Writings on Genius and Madness (2006), this article seeks to refer to readings related to unreason and to give continuity to a methodology mentioned in this article, thus launching a series of challenges for future research: the connection of the Pessoan archive with the private library (or with other public or private ones), of the writer with the reader, of theorization with learning. The edition of the address of the famous Russian church historian is preceded by a short introduction written by the publisher. In it, he explains the place of this document in the process of forming the views of A. V. Kartashev on church schisms among Russian post-revolutionary emigrants in Western Europe. This explanation, given against the background of the emigrant period of the historian’s biography, allows a better understanding of the meaning and significance of the arguments put forward in the published document.
