In the context of “Plan for Educating and Training Outstanding Engineers (PETOE)”, which was put forward by the Chinese Education Ministry, we would make great efforts to explore a new training model of practical teaching that face to the “Outstanding Plan”. The new training model will aim at enhancing the students’ practical ability in engineering, innovation ability, and their employment competitiveness. The new training model should be established according to the practical teaching situation of the present higher engineering education and combine the factual condition of our school, what’s more, it also based on the implementation of the “cooperation of colleges and enterprises, combination of work and study” training model of the CDIO (Conceive, Design, Implement and Operate) engineering education.

With the development of the times, undergraduate colleges and universities begin to transform and develop to adapt to the changing society, and put forward new requirements for practical teaching strategies, especially for applied undergraduate colleges. The reform of practical teaching is particularly important. Under the development of education transformation, the reform of mechanical design and manufacture and the practice teaching of automation specialty also occupy a very important position. Through the understanding of the reform of the practical teaching of this specialty, the effect of the reform is observed, and a reasonable teaching scheme is put forward to promote the steps of the transformation of the practical teaching.

Graphic composition occupies an important position in the basic courses of art major. However, the effect is often not brought into play due to the outdated single teaching method. This study introduces the teaching practice of paper-cutting art thinking in the curriculum teaching reform. It analyses how to use paper-cutting art thinking in the curriculum teaching reform and to use art-cutting thinking to help student better understand abstract language. This study also guides students to use paper-cutting for innovative practice in the basic course to improve the composition. The findings showed that the use of paper-cutting art thinking can effectively help students better understand abstract language. Students are constructing basic courses as the course practice of Chinese using this teaching method is richer and more innovative. The paper-cutting art thinking method provides a richer theoretical basis and practical teaching method for teaching reforms.
