This research investigates the role that transnational information practices play in the “everyday information practices” of Filipino newcomers to Winnipeg. It examines how newcomers navigate global (and local) social networks, information institutions, and resources during departure from the Philippines and reception into Canada to find information to settle and live in Winnipeg.Cette recherche porte sur le rôle que jouent les pratiques informationnelles transnationales dans les « pratiques informationnelles quotidiennes » d’immigrants philippins à Winnipeg. On y examine comment les nouveaux arrivants naviguent sur les réseaux sociaux mondiaux (et locaux), utilisent les services d’institutions d’information et leurs ressources au départ des Philippines et à leur arrivée au Canada afin de trouver de l’information pour se relocaliser et s’établir à Winnipeg.

This research reports on the preliminary findings from the Information Practices of Ethnocultural Communities (IPEC) research project. IPEC examines the everyday information behaviours and social network practices of new immigrants from Chinese, Indian and Iraninan communities in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).Cette recherche présente les résultats préliminaires du projet de recherche sur les pratiques informationnelles des communautés ethnoculturelles (IPEC). Le projet IPEC examine les comportements informationnels quotidiens et les pratiques de réseaux sociaux des nouveaux immigrants des communautés chinoise, indienne et iranienne de la grande région urbaine de Toronto.

Cette communication décrit un projet de recherche en cours soutenu par l’ISCC. Le projet se propose d’examiner les problèmes liés à la production sociale des métadonnées de la musique eu égard aux nouveaux dispositifs et nouvelles pratiques numériques l’indexation et les métadonnées de la musique. Sont décrits le contexte et la motivation de l’étude, un bref rappel de concepts relavant de l’étude. La communication se penche par ailleurs sur l’évaluation de la production musicale et sa réception dans le cadre des réseaux sociaux. Le questionnaire ainsi que les premiers résultats sont décrits.This paper describes an ongoing study supported by ISCC. The project examines issues surrounding social metadata creation for music in light of new devices and digital practices, indexing, and music metadata. The context and rationale for the study are described, as well as a summary of relevant concepts. The evaluation of music production and its reception in social networks are also covered. The questionnaire and the preliminary results will be presented.

L’équipe de recherche du European Communication Monitor (ECM) publie les résultats de la dixième édition de leurs questionnements sur les développements et les dynamiques de la communication stratégique dans 43 pays d’Europe. Dans l’étude 2016 l’analyse des « big data », des algorithmes en communication, des pratiques en communication propres au coaching et au conseil, de l’engagement des parties prenantes, des influenceurs actifs sur les réseaux sociaux, et des savoir, savoir-faire et savoir-être des professionnels de la communication. 2710 professionnels de la communication ont participé à l’étude. Les nombreuses comparaisons avec les résultats de l’ECM 2013 dénoncent la faible évolution du niveau de compétences moyen des professionnels de la communication à l’exception de la prévention et la gestion des crises sur les réseaux sociaux. Dans une optique de standards de la professionnalisation, les chercheurs ont créé le « comparative excellence framework » (CEF) qui vise à identifier les caractéristiques distinguant les professionnels et identifiant les pratiques d’excellence. The research team of the European Communication Monitor (ECM) publishes the results of the tenth edition of their pan-European study on the developments and dynamics of strategic communication in 43 European countries. In the 2016 edition, they focused on the analysis of « big data », communication algorithms, communication practices specifically dealing with coaching and consulting, stakeholders engagement, active influencers on social networks, and the knowledge, skills and know-how of communication professionals. 2710 communication professionals participated in the study. The comparisons with the results of the ECM 2013 reveal a weak evolution of the average level of competences of the communication professionals with the exception of the prevention and the management of crises on the social networks. Willing to support professionalisation standards, the researchers have created the comparative excellence framework (CEF), which aims to identify the characteristics distinguishing professionals and identifying best practices.

"The stable identity, an invention of modernity, seems today to be shaken, giving way to multiple and even ephemeral identifications of which social networks form a remarkable catalog. Are we living in a time when we no longer know who we are? This article proposes setting in relation the practices of the self with the questions of the construction of identity, assuming as a condition of possibility the dissociation of the individual consciousness from the collective unconscious. <p><strong>Resumo: </strong>Com base na articulação de fundamentos teóricos da semiótica, das redes sociais e do pensamento complexo, são discutidas as relações que unem informação e corpo, no contexto do perene diálogo entre indivíduos e múltiplos níveis de organização social. Nossa jornada cibercultural tem como ponto de partida um experimento inovador, no domínio da criação coreográfica, e segue a trilha dos complexos desafios hoje presentes nas intrincadas experiências de leitura da realidade e de produção individual-coletiva de sentidos, projetos, biografias e histórias.</p><p><strong>Résumé: </strong>Basé sur une articulation de fondements théoriques de la sémiotique, des réseaux sociaux et de la pensée complexe, les relations qui unissent l’information et le corps dans le dialogue entre l’individu et les<br />multiples niveaux sociaux y sont discutées. International audience We analyze a general model of weighted graphs, introduced by de Panafieu and Ravelomanana (2014) and similar to the inhomogeneous graph model of Söderberg (2002). We investigate the sum of the weights of those graphs and their structure. Those results allow us to give a new proof in a more general setting of a theorem of Wright (1972) on the enumeration of properly colored graphs. We also discuss applications related to social networks Nous étudions un modèle de graphes pondérés, introduits par de Panafieu et Ravelomanana (2014) et proche des graphes inhomogènes de Söderberg (2002). Nous analysons la somme des poids de ces graphes et leur structure. Ces résultats nous permettent d’obtenir une nouvelle preuve d’un théorème de Wright (1972) sur l’énumération des graphes bien colorés, ainsi que sur un modèle lié aux réseaux sociaux.
