Moral rights have not been so uniformly or widely adopted as economic copyrights for authors, perhaps because the actual and potential value of moral rights in ensuring information needs are met has gone unrecognized. The authors demonstrate that moral rights protection can enhance authority control in the new information environment.

This paper describes a round-trip engineering approach for incrementally maintaining mappings between conceptual models and relational schemas. When either schema or conceptual model evolves to accommodate new information needs, the existing mapping must be maintained accordingly to continuously provide valid services. In this paper, the authors examine the mappings specifying “consistent” relationships between models. First, they define the consistency of a conceptual-relational mapping through “semantically compatible” instances. Next, the authors analyze the knowledge encoded in the standard database design process and develop round-trip algorithms for incrementally maintaining the consistency of conceptual-relational mappings under evolution. Finally, they conduct a set of comprehensive experiments. The results show that the proposed solution is efficient and provides significant benefits in comparison to the mapping reconstructing approach.

The most comprehensive approaches toward understanding information in modern ‘welfare states’ have been focussed on outlining state regulation in the monopoly stage of capitalism. This theoretical orientation has instigated a number of studies penetrating into the use of information for the purposes of state control and regulation, e.g. in income policies as well as in legislation. Less developed is the study of the other side of the dialectic: how do counter-processes manifest themselves in the course of increasing bureaucratic-corporativist regulation and control? Evidence on following tendencies in ‘welfare states’ in Western Europe and their accentuation in Scandinavia is discussed. (1) Fragmentation and partial isolation of the traditional information institutions (school, science, journalism) from contemporary information-steering processes, necessitated by increasing flows of raw information in the market of knowledge. (2) Emergence of new information-steering activities, often in organized, institutionalized forms. (3) New information-steering is developed for centralized, state-monopoly regulated information needs and, on the other hand, for democratic information needs: these trends and counter-trends depend not only on power changes in the class struggle but also on changes in the content and experience-coping of information available for the large majorities of the population.

Abstract: To run the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, lecturers must at all times be able to access and update information quickly. Thus the lecturer will not miss the latest knowledge and information from students or from the general public. Without mastering information, the lecturer will look passive and "telmi" (late thinking). Especially in this highly competitive information technology era, information becomes very important so that lecturers continuously develop and deepen their knowledge. To meet the information needs of lecturers, it is needed a mechanism for access to information and information availability. Access to information requires the availability of infrastructure (telecommunications, electricity) and devices (hardware and software) as well as mastering the use of computers (computer literacy). the problem that often arises now is that there are several attitudes of lecturers in terms of finding information. There are among lecturers who are always actively seeking and finding various information. Meanwhile there are also lecturers who are passive, in the sense that said lecturer there is no desire in finding new information and knowledge, but it is enough to hold the knowledge as it is. However the situation must be said that every lecturer is not likely to neglect information, because that information is an academic and scientific need. This article is divided into two parts. In the first part, which was published in 2018, we presented arguments in support of the concept of posthumous interests. Posthumous interests are understood as events that constitute a benefit or a harm to the deceased person, who no longer exists. A right is the interest of a person, which is recognized and protected by law. In the second part, we examine the possibility of applying the theory of posthumous interests in the Polish legal system. We address the following issues: medical confidentiality, protection of medical data after the death of a patient, author’s moral rights, protection of the memory of the deceased, the law on orders and decorations, and the legal status of human corpses. The theoretical background for this article was the book by Daniel Sperling Posthumous Interest, in which the author outlined the problem in point from the perspective of the common law regime.

Article clarifies information literacy (IL) implementation that is recognizing information needs, finding information, valuing, selecting information, creating new information and presenting it to get some inputs, applied in Cornel University, Dayton University, North Sumatera University, Duta Wacana University, and Bina Nusantara University. Data were collected by library research. It can be concluded that IL implementation in some mentioned universities have met the IL standards, IL is needed to develop students’ knowledge, skills, and performance, some IL have applied in the formal teaching activity, so that it needs to be researched so that all parties are satisfied and the goal of study can be achieved.

The article refers to the fact that the genres of journalistic texts, the functional purpose of which has historically been to inform the audience, today form the basis of multimedia formats in which information occurs with elements of entertainment. When analyzing the formats of new media, we came to the conclusion that the core of the format is made up of elements of a particular genre, that only the “packaging” is changing in order to promote the format and taking into account the new information needs of society. The next important conclusion of the study is that visualization is the main means of creating a format in view of the spectacular nature of modern culture.
