The Missing Pieces tool visualizes the overlap of search engine results including those generated by the metasearch engine, Dogpile. The major research question is: how well can users interact with and interpret the circular metasearch results display? This study has interesting implications for the use of visualization for presenting information in a web metasearch environment.L’outil “Missing Pieces” visualise le chevauchement des résultats des moteurs de recherche incluant ceux générés par le métamoteur Dogpile.

Online information needs have evolved in the real direction. These needs include the latest information, government services, and commercial products. The research question is how to describe and optimize keyword research with the allintitle technique on the google search engine. The development method used in this research is the prototype method because it is considered able to be evaluated directly on the user. The system testing is done for 3 months by placing keywords on several websites on Google. The conclusion that can be taken is to use the allintitle technique, the search results for the web are easier to find. And this web-based allintitle technique can overcome the challenges of captcha verification from the Google search engine.   Keywords: Allintitle, Google's Search Engine, Keyword competition.

This paper explores environmental and socially sustainable practices among different actors in the Bordeaux wine value chain (WVC). The main research question is to identify the extent to which the different actors in the wine value chain are aligned in terms of practices and beliefs concerning the importance and implementation of sustainable practices. While each actor in the Bordeaux WVC performs different sustainable practices depending on the activities that they undertake, some share common practices and exert some upstream pressure on the value chain as they seek to support sustainable practices at the wine grape grower and wine producer level. Environmentally sustainable practices are more developed than socially sustainable practices and were more widely adopted by most of the WVC actors.

The manner in which search results are presented to a user may influence how they come to understand scientific information. Sixty participants were asked to read a mock search engine's result page with the goal of summarizing a science topic for a colleague. The researchers analyzed participants’ summaries for the presence of conflicting or negating information from the mock search results page. Preliminary findings indicate that the way in which a search engine displays results can influence a user's understanding of a controversy, particularly document order and genre, which affected the quality of participants’ written responses.

Academic researchers are the major actors in the scholarly communication system and, as such, it is extremely important that any research being conducted in this area be guided by their needs. This study assembles a diverse panel of Canadian academic researchers in order to define a research strategy for the dissemination of scholarly knowledge in Canada that is defined by relevance to the research community. The major research question addressed here is the nature of a research agenda for the dissemination of scholarly research in Canada. These results so far reflect a substantially different approach to defining a research agenda for the dissemination of scholarly research than those outlined in the past.

Abstract Background: Much literature deals with patients who use drugs and have partners who are drug-free. However, concordant couples, in which both partners are consuming drugs, are sparsely examined in the literature. This might be due to the fact, that couples are rarely treated together in healthcare services. Despite that fact we propose that it is feasible and clinically meaningful to treat concordant couples in the same ward. Consequently, this study pursues the goal to expand the body of knowledge in the treatment of concordant couples investigating the research question: is it feasible, clinically and prognostically meaningful to treat these patients in the same ward? Method: This exploratory study included five concordant couples (ten patients), which were simultaneously treated between August 2013 and November 2014 in a specialised substance use ward at the Psychiatric Hospital Münsterlingen, Switzerland. All patients passed through a psychodynamic characterisation based on the OPD-II interview and the Structured Interview for Personality Organization. Symptom load was measured with the Brief Symptom Inventory at admission and termination of treatment. We calculated comparisons at the individual level using t-tests for paired samples. Results: We showed that it is feasible and clinically meaningful to treat couples concordant for substance use in the same ward. The psychodynamic characterization of the five concordant couples revealed recurring patterns of collusion, involving divided roles between dependence and independence, caregiving and neediness, activity and passivity, control and submission, strength and deficiency as well as superiority and inferiority. The patients didn´t change significantly on the BSI between pre- to post-treatment, although men (d = 1.64) benefited to a greater extent than women (d = 0.10). Conclusion: Treating concordant couples together in the same inpatient setting is unusual, but feasible and clinically useful, because it makes it possible to take into account the couples dynamics in the treatment.

Despite its popularity, search engine advertising is a particularly complex and demanding technique. One of the main challenges for Google Ads managers is to adequately monitor performance. Indeed, the literature identifies a plethora of metrics to measure the success of a search engine ads campaign. One research question arises: What are the metrics adopted by small and medium-sized companies to measure the performance of a Google Ads campaign? This chapter includes a mixed-method study with digital marketing professionals experienced in managing Google Ads campaigns for Portuguese SMEs. Interviews helped highlight the main difficulties faced by SEM's Google Ads' managers and to identify the performance measures they mostly control. Then, a survey enabled to analyse the association between performance measures and campaigns' perceived success. The insights produced by this chapter are particularly interesting for researchers, teachers, business managers, and digital marketing professionals, as it presents important clues on measuring the effectiveness of Google Ads campaigns.

AbstractWhen faced with a U.S. legal research question, what options does the non-U.S. based researcher have, short of purchasing a subscription to one of the fee-based databases or visiting a major research library? This article will briefly discuss a number of no-cost and low-cost resources in the context of the process required to perform U.S. legal research and will also provide explanations of the different types of primary sources that a legal researcher might encounter.

The role of racist women in hate groups remains an underdeveloped area of research, although scholars have suggested that female participation in such groups may vary among the different ideologies of the organizations. One method for exploring this research question involves examining the hate groups’ propaganda. The internet has become an increasingly popular method for distributing propaganda, thus the purpose of this exploratory study was to examine the propaganda targeted towards women on hate group websites. A content analysis was conducted on the websites of hate groups identified by the Southern Poverty Law Center. The results indicate that of 19 websites containing propaganda targeted towards women, almost all of them highlighted traditional gender roles, primarily the woman’s role in educating and raising an Aryan family, as their primary contribution to the movement. Some groups emphasized secondary roles and the implications of the propaganda push are discussed.
