Neurothekeoma is a rare benign neoplasm of uncertain histogenesis. Progresses in immunohistochemistry have brought new insights into its cellular differentiation and origin, recognizing the possibility of a fibrohystiocitic lineage. Also, it has been subclassified histopathologically as either myxoid, cellular, or mixed type, depending on the amount of myxoid matrix and on immunohistochemical analysis. Few cases of cellular neurothekeoma have been reported. Most of them are found on the head, neck and upper extremities and mostly in young female adults. On review of literature we have not found reports regarding dermoscopic features of neurothekeoma. Herein we report an uncommon case of cellular neurothekeoma on the axilla of a 7–year-old girl, with description of its dermoscopic findings.

Pilomatricoma is a benign neoplasm arising from hair follicle matrix cells. It is the most common lesion in pediatric age group. The most frequent sites are head and neck region followed by upper extremities. It is usually asymptomatic and present as a hard, subcutaneous slow-growing mass. Most of the cases present as a single nodule with a size smaller than 3 cm in diameter. We report three cases of pilomatricoma in arm and pre-auricular regions in a child and two young adults. We discuss the clinical presentation and histopathological findings of this uncommon skin tumor, and compare our findings with the previous literature. AbstractExtraskeletal mesenchymal chondrosarcoma (ESMC) metastasizing to the pancreas in isolation is a rare occurrence. We report a 49-year-old gentleman who had undergone excision of an ESMC of the thigh in 2009 and presented with sudden onset abdominal pain and icterus in 2019. Radiological imaging revealed calcified mass of the pancreas with multiple nodules with extension into the adipose tissue. Distal pancreatectomy was performed and the pathology revealed a bimorphic tumor composed of undifferentiated round blue cells with abrupt transition to hyaline cartilage, typical of mesenchymal chondrosarcoma. To the best of our knowledge, there are only seven prior cases of metastatic ESMC of the pancreas in the English literature. Surgical intervention appears to be the preferred modality of treatment for metastatic pancreatic tumors. These patients may have long latency period before metastasizing and seem to have a good survival period post excision.

ABSTRACT The tissue interactions between epithelium and mesenchyme are few of the events which result in pathological processes. One such interaction of epithelium and lymphoid tissue may result in lymphoepithelial lesions in the oral cavity. Lymphoepithelial cyst (LEC) is a rare developmental cystic lesion of the oral cavity with various histogenetic implications. Documented cases of LEC of the tonsil are low in number in the literature. We are hereby reporting a case of LEC of the tonsil in a male patient with review of literature. How to cite this article Somashekara KG, Priya NS, Rao K, Shantharam L. Lymphoepithelial Cyst of Tonsil. Int J Head Neck Surg 2014;5(1):28-30.

Bear attacks are rare, although global incidents have been increasing. Injury patterns of bear attacks against humans consistently include injuries to the face, head, neck, chest, and upper extremities. Here, we have a brief report of a 59-year-old male hunter who was attacked by a grizzly bear in Wyoming. He sustained multiple lacerations to his face which included an avulsion of his nose and upper lip, as well as extensive associated facial fractures. Additional injuries included soft tissue and bony injuries to the upper extremities. He underwent 53 operations during his first hospitalization, primarily of facial reconstruction, which required nose and upper lip replant to his arm. His course was complicated by pressure ulcers, bacteria, acute kidney injury, and a urinary tract infection. After successful coordinated multidisciplinary care and a prolonged hospitalization, he was ultimately discharged to his home.

Background: Neuroendocrine carcinoma is an uncommon histology for breast cancer. Case Report: Our patient underwent right quadrantectomy for a neuroendocrine carcinoma in 1984 and had a bone relapse 30 years later. After thorough pathological and immunohistochemical analysis the diagnosis was confirmed and HER2 amplification was observed. Here we discuss the management, rationale and results of HER2-targeted therapy in advanced neuroendocrine breast carcinoma.

ABSTRACT The trichoepithelioma is a benign cutaneous neoplasm which is derived from hair follicles. It is common in the face, but there are only three reports of the solitary occurrence on the nose. It is often not recognized because of its rarity, controversial classification, origin and biological potential. The objective of this paper is to present a case of solitary trichoepithelioma on the nose, histopathological examination and treatment. It should be considered as a differential diagnosis of a solitary lesion of nose which is confused with basal cell carcinoma. The confirmation by histopathological examination is essential.
