Courses on Human Computer Interaction (HCI) largely differ in the conception of the role of the course in the program, in the topics to be included, in emphases, in the instructional strategies that are employed, and more. This paper describes the design and implementation of a HCI course for students of the Management Information Systems department in our college. Students’ intermediate and final homework assignments were analyzed to provide feedback for the course design. Quantitative analysis showed high correlation between the quality of the requirement analysis performed by the students and the quality of the final interface prototype, and also that the quality of design alternatives that were considered by the students can be a good predictor for the quality of the overall interface design. Qualitative analysis of students’ submissions showed the need for practicing skills required in users’ studies, especially conducting interviews and observations. Implications from these and other findings are discussed.

This paper describes the design and implementation of an HCI course for students of the Management Information Systems department in our college. Students’ intermediate and final homework assignments were analyzed to provide feedback for the course design. Findings from this analysis along with additional impressions from the course implementation are summarized and discussed. The rapid spread of the COVID-19 pandemic made it necessary to take serious precautions in the field of education, so schools were closed in many countries and switched to online education. The pandemic has caused similar changes in higher education institutions in Turkey. The motivation of the students is an important component in achieving the targeted success of the rapidly adapted online education. This study aims to investigate the factors that affect the motivation of management information systems students towards online education conducted during the COVID-19 pandemic. The findings reveal that the role of instructor, system support, and time management come to the fore in students' positive motivation. On the other hand, ineffective group work, failure to achieve career goals, prolonged pandemic period, and breakdown in social relationships have influence on students' negative motivation. It is expected that this study will guide policy developers for distance education and instructional strategies to be developed in the field of management information systems.

The background of this study includes the still low role of management information systems in improving the quality of public services and education service policies, especially in Cileunyi District, Bandung Regency. The aim is to find out the inhibiting factors, support in improving the quality of public services, education policy services. Qualitative descriptive research method, aims to provide a general description, an explanation of the variables studied in accordance with the focus of research includes the effectiveness of the role of information systems in managing information, producing information, presenting information and inhibiting factors, supporting in improving the quality of public services, education policy services . Using purposive sampling technique, accidental sampling, data collection techniques through in-depth interviews, research documents. The results of the study concluded that management information systems are very instrumental in managing information, producing information, presenting information. Using computer systems and information technology devices can be managed, sent to those who need them quickly, accurately, facilitating the completion of work tasks. Supporters in improving the quality of services including information and communication technology. This finding has maximally improved service to the public, services in determining policies in Education.

Seed rules and regulations determine who can produce and sell seeds, which varieties will be available in the market, the quality of seed for sale, and where seed can be bought and sold. The legal and regulatory environment for seed impacts all stakeholders, including those in the informal sector, through shaping who can participate in the market and the quality and diversity of seed available. This paper addresses a gap in the current literature regarding the role of law and regulation in linking the informal and formal seed sectors and creating more inclusive and better governed seed systems. Drawing upon insights from the literature, global case studies, key expert consultations, and a methodology on the design and implementation of law and regulation, we present a framework that evaluates how regulatory flexibility can be built into seed systems to address farmers’ needs and engage stakeholders of all sizes. Our study focuses on two key dimensions: extending market frontiers and liberalizing seed quality control mechanisms. We find that flexible regulatory approaches and practices play a central role in building bridges between formal and informal seed systems, guaranteeing quality seed in the market, and encouraging market entry for high-quality traditional and farmer-preferred varieties.

In 2000, Faisal Farooq, the young head of Nirala Sweets wanted to design a new reward system for his salesforce, as part of his effort to professionalise the firm. Nirala Sweets, a 52 year-old firm, founded by Faisal's grandfather was the leading purveyor of traditional sweetmeats in Lahore, Pakistan. The national culturn, the informal manner in which the firm had been run, weak management information systems, and the behavioural complexity of his growing firm are some of the challenges he faced. He needed to think carefully about how these would impact the design and implementation of an effective salesforce reward system.

Numerous studies have investigated why computers are perceived as being a male domain. In this study, the authors examine intra-gender differences among undergraduate and graduate students who enrolled in Management Information Systems (MIS) courses and attempt to answer such questions as do males achieve significantly higher scores in MIS courses? Does instructor gender affect female students' academic achievement? Do females underperform males in achievement at either or both undergraduate and graduate levels? This paper provides findings which demonstrate that female students performed significantly better than their male counterparts in the two introductory undergraduate MIS courses and performed equally well in an upper lever MIS course and an introductory course in the graduate program. Male students were impacted by the gender of the teacher. Even though it was not a main focus of the present study, the authors cannot resist making a casual observation that female teachers were more effective in the classroom.
