Tourism is one of the necessary and very important sectors of country economy. Tourism has its appropriate inimitable characteristics that difference this sector from the other sectors. As to be in the other service industrial fields, in tourism sector the tourists come to the tourism destination place where the tourism services are supplied. To my observation and international experiences, it is hard to think of tourism industry without transportation. Transportation is  mean where to carry the tourists to the relevant place where tourism services are accomplished. The article contains detailed information about the introduction to the concepts of tourism, theoretical approach to the tourism as service industry, the role of transport in tourism development, international experiences in transport tourism, development of transport tourismin Azerbaijan economy. The article can be considered as a useful resource  for experts and researchers conducting research in this field.

Experience from many countries shows that tourism contributes greatly to the economic growth that can improve the welfare and quality of citizens’ lives. To enhance the role of the tourism sector to improve the economy, increasing the competitiveness of this sector is the key. For Indonesia, which has great potential in the tourism sector, tourism development strategies are needed to improve the competitiveness of the tourism industry. The purpose of this study is to determine the position of competitiveness in Indonesia’s tourism sector, especially compared to some major ASEAN countries, and propose appropriate tourism development strategies. After mapping the condition of Indonesia’s tourism competitiveness compared to some other major ASEAN countries, this study uses STP (segmenting, targeting, and positioning) to find appropriate tourism development strategies. This research utilizes secondary data. The results show that compared to some other major ASEAN countries (Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand), Indonesia's tourism competitiveness in some aspects is low, although this condition has improved in recent years. However, given the demands of the dynamic tourism market, the competitiveness needs to be improved continuously. This necessitates special strategies, so that the efforts match with the target. The tourism sector has become a truly global force for promoting economic growth and development. Therefore, the study of tourism has become an interesting topic for researchers lately. On the other hand, local tourism, generally in developing countries, is often neglected by academics and policymakers. For this reason, this study aims to examine and analyze the role of tourist motivation in mediating accessibility, amenities, and attractions on visiting decisions. This study is a survey research with an explanatory method. The population is tourists who visit the tourism village of Bumiaji, Indonesia, in the low and busy seasons. The population is infinite and the number of respondents who were interviewed is 100 respondents; data were collected by distributing questionnaires to domestic tourists who came from outside the tourist village of Bumiaji, then the data were processed and analyzed using Warp Partial Least Squares. The findings indicate that the effect of accessibility on visiting decisions is not mediated by tourist motivation. This shows that the decision of tourists to visit can be directly influenced by the time and means of transportation available. Meanwhile, the influence of amenities and attractions on the decision to visit is mediated by the motivation of tourists. This means that amenities and attractions can influence a tourist’s decision to visit if there is an urge from tourist to relax or make friends or enjoy the culture at tourist attractions, etc.

Paramita Suklabaidya explores the potential of cruises as tourism product and the reasons for its growing popularity worldwide in her article 'New Age Tourism Product: The Cruise Industry - the Fastest growing Tourism Sector'. Gastronomy tourism can be a pull factor for many tourism market segments and the role of Gastronomy Tourism in promoting Jharkhand as a Tourist Destination is beautifully presented by Mohinder Chand, Ashish Dahiya and Lata S Patil. Issues of effective teaching and learning in tourism education by Toney K. Thomas reviews and evaluates the effectiveness of the application of skills in the industry. Joby Thomas and P. Pakkerappa in their article highlight the crucial role of HRD in airline industry to cope UP with the challenges of advancement in technology, changing market scenario, industry restructuring and more competitive business environment. This study is entitled Tourism Development Strategies for Increasing Economic Growth in East Lombok Regency. The object of this research is the tourism sector in East Lombok Regency in order to increase economic growth. Meanwhile, the problem examined in this study is the ways to increase the role of the tourism sector in East Lombok Regency paving the way to boost the economic growth. The method used in this study is qualitative through descriptive approach while the selected tool is SWOT analysis. The results of this study shows that the tourism sector in East Lombok Regency is in quadrant I or lies between external opportunities and positive internal forces (growth strategies) with rapid growth strategies which are the strategies that must be used to increase and maximize outputs from the tourism sector. This is to continue to grow so that later it will become a potential leading sector in East Lombok Regency.

The positive impact of the tourism industry on economic growth, revenues, infrastructure, employment, social inclusion and poverty reduction, although widely recognised, has been lately weighted against the appearance and exacerbation of several problems, such as: environmental footprint, increase of income inequality, cost increases related to solid waste collection, energy consumption, increased global CO2 emissions. On the other hand, the tourism sector is not just an active economic, societal, or environmental change agent; in turn, the tourism sector supports or is highly influenced by various factors, such as climate change, economic, political, or social factors. More recently, this industry has been highly impacted by the pandemic, technological developments and cultural trends. In this article we examined both the short and long-run relationship between tourism development and economic growth, CO2 emissions and energy consumption in European Union member states (EU27), by using the Principal Component Analysis (PCA) technique and autoregressive distributed lag (ARDL) model for panel data. The findings suggest that economic growth and energy consumption have a statistically significant impact on the tourism index both in the short and long-run, whereas CO2 emissions only have a significant impact upon the tourism index on the long run.

The article deals with the specifics of volunteering in tourism industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Of particular importance is the problem of developing volunteering movement in tourism sphere of Kazakhstan, which is in the process of formation and integration. Developing volunteering in tourism for Kazakhstan is an important factor in ensuring its growth, forming positive image, creating favourable conditions for the tourism business, increasing awareness about the country, and improving the well-being of its people. The relevance of the topic is that among various directions of tourism development, volunteering has a powerful, but underestimated resource for creating positive image of a country, solving social, economic and environmental problems, improving the quality of tourism services provided, helping the population in emergencies, different life situations, which may occur in the course of a travel. The purpose of this work is to analyse the theoretical aspects regarding the role of volunteering in tourism development, identifying its trends and problems, as well as developing scientifically based applied recommendations to increase the attractiveness of volunteering in tourism. The results obtained in the course of the study can be implemented in fostering volunteering development in tourism sphere.

The tourism industry certainly has been a formidable pillar as an unfailing and reliable source of revenue and capital for many nations. Many countries have been elevated from poor to appreciable economic statuses as a result of the invaluable contributions their tourism sectors have succeeded in adding to their overall economic growth. Tourism is a major engine of economic growth and an important source of foreign exchange earnings in India. Over the last decade, India has been the fastest growing tourism region in the world. This chapter primarily aims and seeks to identify and examine the paradigm shifts in the tourism industry over the seeming years and how the trends have behaved in India. It seeks to study the current trends in the tourism industry and evaluates the role of tourism in economic development. The future outlook is bright for the tourism sector, and the region is expected to maintain a high rate of growth well into the next century. The chapter contributes to an improved understanding of economic growth of a country because of tourism development.

Globally, ‘Tourism industry' has been considered as the second largest employer amongst other significant sectors contributing to economic growth. It is having a close nexus with employment generation and economic growth. When a country moves forward socially and economically, a need for expansion of employment avenues also grows simultaneously. Hence, Tourism Sector has a tremendous potential, especially in India, for development. The industry extends its territory by launching multifarious allied projects such as setting up of parks, sports clubs, hotels and restaurants, transport operations etc., In North East India, Nagaland is one of the States possessing an enormous potential for development of Tourism industry. This chapter is proposed to study the role of Tourism industry in boosting socio-economic development Nagaland, to focus on contribution of hotels and restaurants towards employment generation, to identify major marketing issues/bottlenecks the industry and to suggest corrective measures to ensure sustainable tourism marketing in the State.
