Prior to the Covid-19 pandemic, it was reported that over 60% of the people in Malaysia only have enough savings to last them for less than 6 months in the event of loss of income. It is also reported that only 10.8% of urban Malaysian households have enough savings to withstand ‘financial shocks’ resulting from events such as job loss, economic crisis, physical impairment and death. The current Covid-19 pandemic had proven in stronger term that financial preparation is crucial for unpredictable situations such us the financial problems arising from the economic slowdown caused by movement control orders and lockdowns. Many households; especially those whose breadwinners were being laid-off by their companies, or had their salaries cut-off and asked to take unpaid leave – are in difficult financial situation. Only those with minimal debt obligations, steady income stream and enough financial buffer to pay for expenditures for the coming months are not in urgent need of any government assistance. Hence, it is high time to inculcate the knowledge of Islamic financial planning among Muslim families to ensure their wellbeing.

The main goal of this article is to determine the optimal time period of boiler for biomass renewal, because its usage affects the financial situation of the firm in the form of costs. In this contribution is applied the method of operational research - the method of optimal time of machine renovation. The results of the analyses point to the optimal period of biomass boiler renovation before its service life in the 11th year. Operating costs are increasing about 9% after this time. By using this model there is ability to plan financial sources for buying new biomass boiler at 5500-15600€ on the market. The scientific benefit lies in the fact that the model is applicable to all types of equipment and machinery, in various industrial areas and in services and it is preventive instrument for financial planning for machine renovation.

Purpоse. The purpose of this article is to identify the shortcomings of labor legislation during quarantine and restrictive measures related to the spread of coronavirus disease (COVID-19). Consider and analyze new approaches in building labor relations between employees and employers in the face of rising unemployment and the introduction of telework. Results. The pandemic covered 210 countries and territories. Studies have shown that tens of millions of people have lost their jobs. According to various social survey centers, every third company surveyed optimized the payroll, sent employees to remote work with a reduction in wages, reduced staff and transferred some workers to contracts. Today it is possible to exercise the right to receive partial unemployment benefits for insured workers who have lost part of their wages due to forced downtime or reduction of working hours due to quarantine. Cоnclusiоns. Today, much responsibility lies with the subjects of labor relations, much depends on the employees and employers, on their responsibility and charity. State aid to those categories that were more vulnerable during the crisis remains important. Financial assistance can take the form of grants and grace periods on outstanding loans – in order to support and overcome the profitability crisis. Keywоrds: labor relations; pandemic; wages; COVID-19.

The outbreak of COVID-19 caused the Malaysian Government to take steps to implement the Movement Control Order (MCO). According to Bank Negara Malaysia, the implementation of MCO will have an impact on national incomes, with Malaysia’s estimated economic growth in 2020. The effect of MCO not only affects the macro level, but also at the micro level, particularly those groups of households with the lowest income of 40%. (B40). The B40 income group is a group of households that are expected to face high economic risk and directly affect their patterns of consumption during the implementation of the MCO. This study contributes to the empiric study related to COVID-19 and the implementation of MCO in the B40 group. This study analysed the pattern of financial and consumption of B40 households in Malaysia during the implementation of MCO. The findings show that the financial situation of the B40 household has changed the patterns of daily consumption following the implementation of the MCO.

As for the supply side, efforts can be made by (1) increasing access to secondary and tertiary education; (2) enhance the quality of education; and (3) provide training and education for workers and everyone over the lifecycle. Background: Gamification is an innovative approach to engaging in activities that people believe as less interesting. Recycling has been an issue not taken aware by the people in environmental sustainability. There are substantial studies on recycling intention due to the continual growth of unethical and unsustainable waste disposal. Creative approaches to recycling awareness activities should be made to fulfil youths’ increasing interest in and demand for recycling. The main objective of this study is to explore the factors related to youths’ recycling intentions after experiencing a gamified online recycling learning activity, Edcraft Gamified Learning (EGL). Gamified recycling education is believed to be a practical and engaging approach for youths. Methods: 100 students participated in EGL, consisting of two levels of plastic crafting and recycling activities. They experienced online EGL at home between May and September in 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic total lockdown in Malaysia, namely, Movement Control Order (MCO). 29 participants were selected to participate in five focus group discussions (FGDs) with five to eight participants per session to explore their opinions towards gamified learning, motivation and recycling intention. Results: This paper reports the findings of the FGDs. A codebook was developed based on the codes from the FGD feedback. The codes were rated by two raters, followed by an assessment of inter-rater reliability and thematic analysis. The findings emerged and were confirmed with four themes as factors that influence recycling intention. They are gameful experience, social influence, intrinsic motivation, and extrinsic motivation. Conclusion: The dependent variable, recycling intention, was connected to the four themes to verify the conceptual framework. One limitation of the study was the design of the EGL activity, which was only carried out over two days with two levels of gamified recycling education, as students had concurrent academic online classes during that period.

Objective: Various public health and social measures have been used during the COVID-19 outbreak, including lockdowns, contact-tracing, isolation and quarantine. The objective of this manuscript is to describe outbreaks of COVID-19 in Selangor, Malaysia, the public health strategies used and the observed impact of the measures on the epidemic curve. Methods: Information on all confirmed COVID-19 cases in Selangor between 25 January and 28 April 2020 was obtained. Clusters were identified, and cases were disaggregated into linked, unlinked and imported cases. Epidemic curves were constructed, and the timing of movement control orders was compared with the numbers of cases reported. Results: During the study period, 1395 confirmed COVID-19 cases were reported to the Selangor Health Department, of which 15.8% were imported, 79.5% were linked and 4.7% were unlinked cases. For two main clusters, the number of cases decreased after control measures were instituted, by contact-tracing followed by isolation and home quarantine for the first cluster (n = 126), and with the addition of the movement control order for the second, much larger cluster (n = 559). Discussion: The findings suggest that appropriate, timely public health interventions and movement control measures have a synergistic effect on controlling COVID-19 outbreaks.

T The Movement Control Order (MCO) was declared by the Malaysian Government on 18 March 2020 to avoid the transmission of the Covid -19 infection.  The MCO was continued until phase four and then commenced to the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) which was less restrictive starting 4 May 2020.  For the first two months of the implementation of the MCO, all business premises, places of worship and educational institutions were closed totally to the public. schools were reopened in stages during the CMCO following the advice of the Ministry of Health (MOH).  The objective of this research is to do an analysis of the maslahah element which was applied in the management of the reopening of schools according to the Sunnah Nabawiyyah perspective.  This research was conducted using the qualitative method which involved literature and field research.  By analyzing the primary documents released by the Ministry of Education (MOE) and the feedback posted by the mass media, the research found that the maslahah element such as maslahah daruriyyah, dunyawiyah and khassah are already implemented by the MOE in the preparation of School Reopening Management Guidelines.  This element was aimed specifically in order to safeguard the health and the well-being of the students and the teachers.  Even though education is important and mandatory for all, yet the constraints faced by the people concerned are equally important. Thus, the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) is for the sake of making sure the well-being of school community is assured from the disease. Therefore, the guidelines of school reopening are in line with the Islamic approach based on the discussion of maqasid al-syari'ah which is to realize maslahah for human beings and avoiding any bad circumstances.
