The aim of the study was to develop and validate a tool to measure the social intelligence quotient of employees at the workplace, especially during the time of recruitment. The tool was developed based on the five-part model of social intelligence developed by Karl Albrecht (2005). The sample for the study was selected using the snowball sampling technique and comprised of 222 people both males and females belonging to the age group 18-25 years and was of Indian origin. The steps of the study included the generation of the initial pool of items, expert validation, item analysis, followed by tests for reliability and validity. The data was collected online through google forms. Item total correlation, descriptive statistics, and structural equation modelling were used to analyse the data. The reliability of the scale established using Cronbach’s alpha (internal consistency) was found to be 0.87 (high). The scale was correlated with Tromso Social Intelligence Scale (TSIS) to establish criterion validity and was found to be 0.164 (p < .01). The intra-correlation among the dimensions of the tool was found to be moderate, ranging between 0.42-0.57.

Corporate social responsibility (CSR) has been implemented through sponsorships, philanthropy, and cause-related marketing (CRM), amongst which CRM has aroused the interest of many academicians and stakeholders. The study aims to examine the antecedents of cause-related marketing while considering attitude as a mediator to test its relationship with the purchase intention. The snowball sampling technique for data collection was administered to Indian millennial consumers from the regions of Karnataka and Kerala. A total of 313 valid cases were selected for the analysis, which employed partial least squares (PLS) based on structural equation modeling (SEM). The findings have shown that a positive relationship exists between cause participation and purchase intention. Further, product/cause congruence & consumer/cause identification had a positive impact on attitude, while attitude, in turn, showed a favorable association with the purchase intention. This study disclosed the relative importance of the compatibility between the social causes supported by the company with its engaged business while adopting CRM campaigns, and highlighted the need for the involvement of consumers in the CRM programs for their effectiveness.

The present study aimed to develop an indigenous measure of learning styles for e-learners in Pakistan and to establish its psychometric properties. The objectives of the study were attained via three studies. First, the items for the development of the Learning Style Scale for e-Learners (e-LSS) were generated empirically based on a 5-point Likert-type scale. In Study I, the internal consistency and dimensionality of the measure were determined by sampling 360 e-learners aged from 20 to 40 years through a convenient sampling technique, whereas other demographic characteristics were kept in close consideration. For this purpose, exploratory factor analysis was utilized. In Study II of scale development, the factor structure that emerged in Study I was confirmed via confirmatory factor analysis using structural equation modeling. In Study III, the convergent and divergent validities of the newly constructed scale were established by correlating scores with preestablished scale scores that assess the similar construct (i.e., LSS) and with scores on the discriminant construct (i.e., Solving Problems Survey). The sample for this study consisted of 80 e-learners aged from 20 to 40 years. A total of 29 items were confirmed in the final scale with 8 distinctive factors (namely, visual, auditory, kinesthetic, global, analytical, individual, collaborative, and technological type) with sound psychometric properties. To conclude, the newly constructed scale was a significant addition to assess learning styles particularly of e-learners in the context of Pakistan.

This study aims to assess the social intelligence of prospective teachers in relation to gender, stream, and emotional intelligence. Initial sample of the study consisted of 400 prospective teachers on which Rogan Emotional Intelligence Test (REIT) developed and standardized by Zainuddin (2005) and Social Intelligence Scale developed and standardized by Chadha and Ganeshan (2009) were administered. The sampled teachers were categorized into two extreme groups on the basis of emotional intelligence scores. Finally, the sample consisted of 136 prospective teachers i.e. 68 of each gender as well as 68 of each stream of teacher education. Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) was applied for data analysis. Significant differences were found in their social intelligence on the basis of their emotional intelligence. However, no significant differences were observed in the social intelligence of prospective teachers on the basis of their gender and stream.

BACKGROUND Social Q&A communities are playing an increasingly important role in the dissemination of health information. The identification of influencing factors of user willingness to share health information (WSHI) is very important to improve public health literacy. OBJECTIVE in order to provide a reference for the construction of high-quality health information sharing community, this paper studied the influencing factors of social question-and-answer community users sharing health information. METHODS A cross-sectional study was conducted through snowball sampling among 921 users of Zhihu in China. Structural equation analysis was used to verify the interaction and influence strength between variables in the model. Hierarchical regression was also used to test the mediating effect in the model. RESULTS Altruism (AL, β=0.264, P<0.001), Intrinsic Reward (IR, β=0.260, P<0.05), Self-Efficacy (SE, β=0.468, P<0.001) and Community Influence (CI, β=0.277, P<0.01) had a positive effect while Extrinsic Reward (ER, β=0.351, P<0.001) had a negative effect on WSHI. SE also had a mediating effect (βmediation=0.147, 29.15%, 0.147/0.505) between CI and WSHI. CONCLUSIONS Findings suggest that WSHI is simultaneously influenced by many factors such as AL, SE, CI and IR. Improving the social atmosphere of the platform is an effective method to encourage users to share health information.

Human resource is the one of the most important elements in the company. Therefore, the company must have related strategies to retain these workers. One of them is by increasing employee loyalty and satisfaction through flexibility of work and work life balance. The strategy chosen is based on the unique characteristics of the majority of workers who entered the millennial generation. Some companies are already implementing these strategies, including startup companies. This study aims to investigate the influence of the flexibility of working on loyalty and employee satisfaction with work life balance. This research was conducted using convenience and snowball sampling technique to the 121 respondents with a millennial generation background which is worked in startup companies in Indonesia. Data obtained from respondents were processed and analyzed using structural equation modeling. The results of this study indicate that flexibility of work has significant and positive influence to loyalty and employee satisfaction. However, flexibility of work has positive and significant impact on loyalty and employee satisfaction. This research prove that work life balance have partial mediating influence in relationship between flexibility of work and loyalty. In the other hands, work life balance have no mediating a relationship between flexibility of work and the satisfaction of employee with millennial background that is worked in startup companies.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to examine, explain, predict and guide the processes, mechanisms and outcomes of intrapreneurial behaviour to provide evidence that novelty ecosystems mediate the relationships between generative influence, positive deviance and intrapreneurial behaviour. It also enlightens the capacity of replicating the intrapreneurial best practices. Design/methodology/approach The study uses an integrated approach of entrepreneurship and complexity theories. Its subjects were full-time designated university employees in the Republic of Kenya. A total number of 244 employees were selected using snowball sampling technique from ten public and private universities in the Kenya. A self-administered questionnaire was used to collect data. Findings The structural equation modelling path analysis and the bootstrapping results confirmed full mediation of novelty ecosystems in the relationship between generative influence and intrapreneurial behaviour. The findings, further, verified that novelty ecosystems partially mediate the relationship between positive deviance and intrapreneurial behaviour. Research limitations/implications Subjective appraisals were used, despite the fact that studied variables are ultimately based on what employees perceive. Future research should generate and include more objective measures. Practical implications Intrapreneurial behaviour can only be explained and predicted through novelty ecosystems. University leaders need to fully understand and facilitate novelty ecosystems. Social implications A deeper understanding of the power of generative influence, positive deviance and novelty ecosystems will not be fully realized until researchers devote as much energy and attention to facilitation as has been devoted to conflict. Originality/value This study extends existing intrapreneurial research into complexity approach.

The environmental impact produced by digital technologies is one of the fundamental contents to be developed by teachers of the 21st century. Different investigations raise the need to redesign education towards sustainable models and promote a critical look at digital technologies. The main objective of this manuscript is to design a valid, reliable and useful scale to measure self-perceived teacher digital competence regarding the eco-responsible use of technologies. The instrument has been designed based on a detailed analysis of the main frameworks for the development of digital competence in Europe: INTEF and DigCompEdu. A content validation process has been followed through the expert judgment method. Subsequently, its reliability and validity are estimated using structural equation modeling techniques. The results obtained guarantee the reliability and validity of the model. Therefore, the need to establish environmental teacher training plans and more awareness about the eco-responsible use of technologies is established.

Finance is one of the factors in the development of a business. Therefore, the entrepreneur should be able to handle finances well to reach business purposes. Based on the previous studies, the purpose of this research is to determine the effect of several factors such as financial literacy, financial knowledge, financial attitude, income, and financial self-efficacy on financial management behavior. The research sample is 211 entrepreneur who has graduated from college in Surabaya. This research used conclusive causality research with primary data. The sampling technique used purposive sampling and snowball sampling method, and data distribution using an online questionnaire. SEM (Structural Equation Model) used for data analysis technique and using AMOS 24. The hypothesis showed that financial knowledge, income, and financial self-efficacy did not affect financial management behavior, but financial literacy and financial attitude influence financial management behavior. Therefore, the entrepreneur needs to improve financial literacy and financial attitude to manage finance on the business better.

This study aims to explain the concept of policy that needs to be implemented by the government in counteracting of religious intolerance. Based on the factors of population equality and economic prosperity, the government must be regarding the socio-religious aspect of the migration program in the interior of Duri Bengkalis, Riau. In order to realize the ideals of national social development, the portrait of the process of migrating Christian Bataks’ to the interior of Duri must be an outlook for the social conflicts that occur. Highlighting the case of intolerance between Christian Bataks’ and Malay Muslim tribes Duri is important to be contextually examined through a research approach. As a literacy for developing unlimited tolerance in the frame of pluralism, it is very appropriate if this study is analyzed using the perspective of the sociology of development. The process of developing nation-building through a migration program, I take field data through qualitative research. The data source was taken directly to the informant with the snowball sampling technique. After the data were analyzed by the process of data reduction, data display, and conclusion, I found that government policy was not optimal in accommodating the migration program. There are still occur caused by the inferior of people for the meaning of pluralism. Although in general, the community has lived up to the philosophy of Pancasila, these implications are lowly in everyday life. Efforts to reduce conflicts that occur in Bengkalis, the government needs to develop a roadmap for policies on religious dialogue. Religious harmony is very important. It is impossible to realize tolerance without limits if the supporting instruments are not a priority agenda. Especially in areas prone to an inter-religious conflict which are actually caused by economic disparity and political oligarchy.Studi ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan tentang konsep kebijakan yang perlu diterapkan oleh pemerintah dalam menangkal intoleransi beragama. Selain faktor pemerataan penduduk dan kesejahteraan ekonomi, penting kiranya pemerintah memperhatikan aspek sosial-keagamaan atas kasus migrasi yang terjadi di pedalaman Duri Bengkalis, Riau. Agar cita-cita pembangunan sosial secara nasional dapat terwujud, potret proses migrasi suku Batak Kristen ke pedalaman Duri harus menjadi outlook atas konflik sosial yang terjadi. Menyoroti kasus intoleransi antara suku Batak Kristen dan Muslim Melayu Duri menjadi penting untuk ditelaah secara kontekstual melalui pendekatan riset. Sebagai acuan mengembangkan toleransi tanpa batas dalam bingkai pluralisme, sangat pantas jika kajian ini, dianalisis menggunakan perspektif sosiologi pembangunan. Proses mengembangkan pembangunan bangsa melalui program migrasi, penulis mengambil data lapangan melalui penelitian kualitatif. Sumber data diambil langsung kepada informan dengan teknik snowball sampling. Setelah data dianalisis dengan proses reduksi data, display data, dan penarikan kesimpulan, penulis menemukan optimalnya kebijakan pemerintah dalam mengakomodir program migrasi. Hal utama yang menjadi pemicunya adalah masih rendahnya masyarakat memahami makna pluralisme. Walaupun secara umum masyarakat sudah menghayati falsafah Pancasila, tetapi masih rendahnya implikasi tersebut dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Upaya meredam konflik yang terjadi di Bengkalis, pemerintah perlu menyusun roadmap kebijakan tentang dialog agama. Kerukunan agama sangat penting ditegakkan. Mustahil dapat mewujudkan sikap toleransi tanpa batas jika instrumen pendukungnya bukan menjadi agenda prioritas. Terutama di daerah-daerah yang rawan konflik antar umat beragama yang sejatinya disebabkan oleh faktor kesenjangan ekonomi dan oligarki politik.

This study described the diffusion of public health innovation through the Arum Latrine Program (delivery to houses) in Simpangkatis District, Central Bangka Regency, which was carried out as an effort to improve performance through community services and development, especially in the community health development. The Arum Latrine Program was a program implemented from, by and for the Simpangkatis District with funding sourced from voluntary self-subsistent, so that currently the Arum Latrine Program was being proposed as one of the regional innovations. The research method used a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. Data collection was conducted through interviews and observations. The interview was conducted to the informants who were selected using purposive sampling technique (the head of Simpangkatis District and sub-district employees, the head of village and village office staff, the Sector Police Chief, and the head of Simpangkatis health center) and snowball sampling technique (the community leaders and community recipients of Arum Latrine Program in the Simpangkatis District area). The data were analyzed using the theory of Everett M. Rogers (1964). The conclusions were: 1) The diffusion innovations of public health through the Arum Latrine Program (Delivery to Houses) in Simpangkatis District had not been going well and had not been widely adopted. 2) The most powerful aspect in the diffusion of Arum Latrine innovation was the social system. 3) The obstacles in the diffusion of Arum Latrine innovation were the culture of open defecation among the community, the lack of initiative from other agencies to adopt the Arum Latrine Program, and misunderstandings of the apparatus in accepting the socialization of the Arum Latrine Program, especially regarding to the collection of voluntary donations. 4) The factor that supported the program was the social system existing in the community. It was because ??Simpangkatis District was still thick with its customs and culture, so that this social system became the most effective communication network in the diffusion of Arum Latrine innovation.
