The development of numerical thinking in primary education is an important aspect of children's mathematical training, since it allows for a general understanding of numbers and operations in order to facilitate the development of their handling and application. The work allows the implementation of a pedagogical strategy based on didactic engineering, which allows students to identify and formulate questions related to the management and understanding of numbers and their basic operations together with the decision to approach individually and which ones in a group way while planning and making decisions in their development and evaluation of results. The study is framed in the quantitative paradigm, in a quasi-experimental design, working with control and experimental groups. Pre-test is applied to identify the development of numerical thinking in students and as a support to the design of the intervention proposal. Once the proposal is developed, it is evaluated by means of a post-test that allows identifying significant improvements in the numerical thinking of the children of the experimental group in comparison with those of the control group. This leads to the conclusion that the developed intervention contributes favorably to the development of numerical thinking in children.

This research applied experimental design with a quantitative approach. It was quasi-experimental research type. The instrument research used test (pre-test and post-test) and documentation. The population of this research was the whole class XI  students of  SMAN 3 Pamekasan and the sample of this research was XI-MIPA3 as control group and XI-MIPA4 as experimental group. The control group was 30 students and either the experimental group. So, the sample of this research was 60 students. the The data collected were analyzed by using t-test formula to find whether any effect of using physical line-up game on students’ grammar achievement at the eleventh grade of SMAN 3 Pamekasan. The result of this study showed that t-value ( ) is higher than t-table ( ) either 5% or 1% where (5% = 1,67 < 3,33) or (1% = 2,39 < 3,33). But in this case, the researcher used significant on 5% (5% = 1,67 < 3,33). Thus, it can be concluded that Ha (Alternative Hypothesis) was accepted and the Ho (Null Hypothesis) was rejected. So, the effect was far in achieving the student’s ability of grammar comprehension by using physical line-up game.

The adaptation of sports equipment seeks to adjust the learning environment to students’ characteristics. The purpose of this study was to assess the effect of adapting the basket height on the execution and decision-making of technical–tactical skills, self-efficacy, cooperation, and students’ perception in a basketball unit. A quasi-experimental design with a control group, pre-test, and post-test was carried out in an eight-session basketball unit. The control group completed the tasks with a basket height of 3.05 m, and the experimental group completed the tasks with a basket height of 2.80 m. The execution and decision-making involved in passing, shooting, and one-on-one situations, students’ self-efficacy, and cooperation were assessed before and after the basketball unit. Students’ perception was assessed throughout the basketball unit. The use of an adapted basket height promoted better execution, more occurrence, and more efficacy for shooting, as well as an increase in the specific individual self-efficacy. The use of the standard basket height involved different technical and tactical solutions by the students as well as an increase in the occurrence and efficacy in one-on-one situations. The students in the control group did not increase their specific individual self-efficacy. The scaled equipment resulted in more variability in the solutions performed by the students (balance between shooting and one-on-one actions).

The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of maker-centred learning methodology on the motivation of secondary school students towards science learning using a quasi-experimental design pretest–posttest. For this purpose, a sample of 200 students in eighth grade (110 boys and 90 girls) was selected from two different schools in Madrid during 2017–2018 academic year. The experimental group selected covered the learning standards by doing a project in the makerspace, and the control group covered the same standards by traditional learning in the classroom. Data were collected through a Students’ Motivation Towards Science Learning questionnaire developed by Tuan, Chin and Shieh (2015). The results of the data analysis revealed a significative difference between groups in the post-test, finding a higher level of motivation towards science in the experimental group (maker-centred learning based), in comparison with the control group (traditional learning based). Findings in this study confirm the benefits of makerspaces in schools as learning environments that motivate students to learn science, so we strongly recommend the use of these spaces to teach science, allowing the students to find their passion and fostering a love of learning. Keywords: Makerspaces, motivation, science learning, secondary school, Quasi-experimental design.
