The major objectives of the study were to find out whether adolescents’ perception of 10 dimensions of home environment could be predicted by their emotional intelligence and gender difference, if any, in the said prediction. The sample comprised 600 adolescents (300 girls; 300 boys) aged 12 through 15 years of Kolkata. Area, stratified and multi-stage random sampling were used to select the sample. Standardized tools viz., Home Environment Inventory, Mangal Emotional Intelligence Inventory, Socio-Economic Status Scale were administered for data collection. Multiple Regression Analyses revealed:- i) adolescents’ perception of most dimensions of home environment could be significantly predicted by their emotional intelligence ii) gender difference in the said predictions did not emerge.

The aim of the research was to decide the role of spiritual intelligence and emotional intelligence in the well-being of adults. The population of this study consisted of 90, adults from Christian, Hindu, Muslim religion and urban Kerala were selected as the sample by purposive random sampling method. The tools used for the reearch was Spiritual Intelligence self-Report Inventory (2009), Mangal Emotional Intelligence Inventory(2001), Ryff’s Psychological Well-Being Scales (1989) and Kuppuswamy’s socioeconomic status scale -revision for 2015. For the data analysis correlation, regression and ANOVA were used. SPSS was used for data analysis. The result of this study points out that there is a positive relationship with spiritual intelligence, emotional intelligence and well-being of an adult. A linear regression established that spiritual intelligence and emotional intelligence could statistically significantly predict well- being. The result is pointing out that there is statistically no significant difference in spiritual intelligence between the different religions and socio- economic status, also no significant difference in emotional intelligence and well- being in different socio- economic status but statistically significant difference in emotional intelligence and well- being between the different religions.

The purpose of the present study was to study the emotional intelligence of post graduate students in HNBGU (Uttarakhand) and Jammu University (J&K) state of India. The sample was post graduate students (120) which were taken from two different courses (Arts & Science) from HNBGU and Jammu University. The total sample was equally divided among male and female. The main objectives of the study were to the influence of Region, stream and gender on Emotional Intelligence. Emotional intelligence inventory by S.K. Mangal and Shubhra Mangal was used as a tool. T-test was used as statistical technique to the results. Results revealed that there was a significant difference between students of HNBGU and Jammu University on Emotional Intelligence.

Perceptions of the alcohol environment may influence alcohol consumption patterns. The purpose of this study was to describe changes in perceptions of the urban alcohol environment as experienced by residents of two districts with different socio-economic status after taking part in a Photovoice study. The study was conducted in Madrid, Spain, in a district with a high socio-economic status (HSES) and another district with a low socio-economic status (LSES). A Photovoice project was conducted with 26 participants divided into four groups based on sex and district. Groups met over five sessions in which they discussed photographs taken by the participants themselves on the subject of alcohol in their neighbourhood. A qualitative, descriptive and thematic analysis of participants’ discourses was performed to explore changes in their perceptions of the alcohol environment over the project sessions. Changes in perceptions of the alcohol environment were observed in all groups over the project. The process of change varied by districts’ socio-economic characteristics and gender. Greater changes in perceptions of the alcohol environment were observed in HSES, especially among women, as the participants had a much more positive initial view of their alcohol environment. In LSES, participants showed a more critical perception of the alcohol environment from the beginning of the study, and this broadened and intensified over the course of the sessions. Changes in perceptions also varied by thematic categories, including some categories that were discussed from the start (e.g. socialising and alcohol consumption) and categories that only emerged in later sessions (e.g. alcohol advertising). Involvement in a Photovoice project has favoured a shift in the participant’s perceptions of their alcohol environment towards more critical positions, widening their scope of perceived elements and raising their awareness of specific problems, such as alcohol advertising and social role of alcohol consumption in relation to alcohol exposure.

The present study is an attempt to investigate the conjoint off impact of Social Economic Status towards the prediction of Emotional intelligence and Creativity among tribal students. Accordingly,100 tribal samples, 50boys and 50girls of VIII, IX & X class from Vivekananda Tribal Centre for learning(VTCL), Hosahalli, H.D.Kote, Mysore. The Socio Economic Status scale by Meenakshi(2004), Emotional Intelligence by Upinder Dhar(2010), and creativity test by Wallach-kogan. The results revealed that High Socio Economic Status students have more Emotional Intelligence and creative than the Low Socio Economic Status Students. Girls and boys have same level of Emotional Intelligence and Creativity. In Emotional Intelligence is no differences in three community students but in creativity Yerava Students have more creative than the other two community students.

This research was carried out using the survey method in an attempt to find out the relationship between the life satisfaction and socio-economic status (SES) of adolescents. The research was conducted among 275 young Turkish people chosen by the random sampling method. The research findings determined that there was a significant difference between the life satisfaction and SES of the respondent students. On the other hand, contrary to expectations, there was no significant difference according to the gender variable.
