Abstract Research supports the need for healthcare providers who are trained in providing care to older adults with dementia. However, few training options exist for Registered Dietitians (RDs) seeking dementia care training that is specific to nutrition. The purpose of this project was to adapt an existing dementia care training curriculum to meet the learning needs of RDs. The development team included two experts in dementia training and two RDs with expertise in gerontological nutrition. The new training module was based on the existing Positive Approach to Care™ (PAC) curriculum, which incorporates Kolb’s Experiential Learning Theory and the Adult Experiential Learning Cycle. The development team first identified learning objectives for content that would be relevant to RDs who work with persons living with dementia, and modified components of the existing PAC curriculum to meet these objectives. After a preliminary pilot, the 2-hour program was presented to 20 RDs using a combination of lecture presentation, experiential learning, and skill-building techniques. Participants were provided written materials to reinforce the concepts presented. Participants answered five dementia-specific questions before and after the training, and overall, the average percentage of correct answers improved following the training. Two weeks following the training, participants completed an open-ended survey to provide feedback on the training. Participants responded favorably to the mixed learning formats in the training. When asked to rank their preferred learning methods, participants indicated lecture-based learning and experiential learning as their top preferred methods. These findings indicate that the adapted curriculum may improve dementia knowledge among RDs.

This Final Report is entitled "The Policy Implementation of the BANTAR (Clean, Safe, and Smart) Village  Program in Realizing Environmental Development in the Paal Merah District of Jambi City Jambi Province". The purpose of this observation is to find out how is the policy implementation of BANTAR Village and to find out the outcome of the policy program. The method used in this study is the Qualitative Research method. This research uses data collection techniques through interviews, observation, and documentation. From the results of the discussion showed that the policy implementation of the BANTAR Village program in Paal Merah District has not been running optimally. This is proven by the fact that not all RTs in Paal Merah sub-district participate in the BANTAR Village program. The obstacle experienced is the lack of funds which causes the program has not run optimally then the second obstacles is many agencies involved causes this program to be hampered, so far the team is only an assessment team, not as development team, so there is no sustanibility of this program because the development team has not carried out their duties optimally. To overcome these problems, the authors suggest the need to make a budget for RTs that follow the program, there needs for socialization related to the program, conduct training for accompanying scholars, the need for CSR from companies in the BANTAR village area and reduce the agencies involved in the program. Belle II is a rapidly growing collaboration with members from one hundred and nineteen institutes spread around the globe. The software development team of the experiment, as well as the software users, are very much decentralised. Together with the active development of the software, such decentralisation makes the adoption of the latest software releases by users an essential, but quite challenging task. To ensure the relevance of the documentation, we adopted the policy of in-code documentation and configured a website that allows us to tie the documentation to given releases. To prevent tutorials from becoming outdated, we covered them by unit-tests. For the user support, we use a question and answer service that not only reduces repetition of the same questions but also turned out to be a place for discussions among the experts. A prototype of a metasearch engine for the different sources of documentation has been developed. For training of the new users, we organise centralised StarterKit workshops attached to the collaboration meetings. The materials of the workshops are later used for self-education and organisation of local training sessions.

A higher education development team consisting of four professors of reading at two universities designed a set of lessons for possible use in helping teachers or preservice teachers develop strategies to produce effective comprehension skills of elementary students. These techniques were first used with undergraduate candidates and then revised to use with reading coaches in the literacy demonstration sites around the state of Alabama. The author describes a set of four interventions based upon this work that was used with graduate preservice teachers in a reading methods course. Three areas were emphasized in this investigation: changing preservice teachers’ misconceptions about the meaning of comprehension, helping them understand what readers do to comprehend text, and teaching them how comprehension can be explicitly taught to elementary students. Through these interventions, the preservice teachers gained a better understanding of how to teach comprehension more effectively to K – 6 students.
