Thesis. Although we have convincing data on the use of the Internet[1] by young people in the general population (also adults), our knowledge about its use by people with disabilities remains a lot more limited. The reasons for this include a shortage of research on access to ICT, the use of such technologies by users with varying disabilities, and the support they receive in this respect. This applies in particular to individuals with intellectual disabilities.   Aim. The aim of the paper is to introduce the state of knowledge and selected challenges for the research field and the practice addressing young people with intellectual disabilities. The article is also focused on the different dimensions of inequalities and proposes a model of the areas of implementation of media education practices.   Conclusions. The role of ICT in the life of people with intellectual disabilities (ID) should be analysed in the context both of  benefits and barriers that may create the risk of exclusion. In terms of benefits, the analysis pertains to the Internet e.g. as a tool for new forms of interactions with the world, as a sphere of freedom and independent functioning as well as a chance for their empowerment. When analysing the context of the risk related to the use of the Internet by young people with ID one should not neglect e.g. various forms of abuse and other threats.

The relevance of the study is due to the expansion of the media space of Ukrainian libraries for children and youth and the use of media practices on their pages in social networks. The aim is to study and compare the applied media practices by domestic libraries for children and youth, to consider new forms of work with the use of media content by libraries for young people and to illustrate their attractiveness to the user. To solve the tasks, the method of analysis of library content in new media, methods of comparison, generalization and sociocommunication were used. The presence of libraries in new media attracts the attention of young people, and information and communication technologies become intermediaries between the book collection and the user. An important component of the attractiveness of the library’s page in social networks is not only the expansion of new channels of communication, but also the creation of the author’s media content.

Information and communication technologies form, in different ways, the modern person’s world picture. Despite huge educational possibilities of the Internet, the information flowing to the person through most commonly used channels, like social networks, can not be described as completely representing real facts. This problem is well considered in terms of policy, but the reliability or inaccuracy of the scientific information in social networks is studied little. This paper analyzes the degree of reliability of scientific facts contained in Russian social network VKontakte. The results show that more than half of messages (57 %) in publics called scientific do not contain scientific information, and 32.4 % of the others contain not completely true information. The inaccuracy degree can vary considerably. It is possible to distinguish its following types: Inaccuracies, Exaggerations, Incomplete information, False attribution, Representing creative works as real, Gross errors in actual understanding. The analysis of false facts in scientific public shows that more often the facts are misrepresented to surprise, for the sake of this, numerical indicators are exaggerated, information partially disappears or misrepresented to look exclusive. There is an interesting trend of using "photoproofs" mismatching the text in time, place or general understanding, or just shots from films or works of art (in particular, digital art).
