The main problem in education today is the lack of effectiveness in the learning process. This can be seen from the average student learning outcomes which are always still low. Especially for vocational high school students who emphasize learning skills in order to produce work-ready graduates, but it is inversely proportional to the facts in the field. Low learning outcomes are indicated because the learning conditions are still conventional (lectures, practicum, and discussions) where teachers are still a source of learning (teacher centered). This study aims to determine the effect of the project based blended learning model on learning outcomes of vocational high school students. This research was conducted through a literature review and relevant research results and was continued through a Focus Group Discussion (FGD). From the research it was found that there was a significant positive influence between the variable model of project based blended learning and student learning outcomes, which means that student learning outcomes can be improved through the application of a project based blended learning model.

This study aims to explore vocational high school students’ attitudes toward integrating blended learning into situational writing, and the learning effectiveness of that integration. A total of 84 vocational high students were divided into an experimental group and a control group. The experimental group received writing instruction through an online platform, whereas the control group received writing instruction in traditional classrooms. Attitude toward writing and writing performance were assessed before and after the experiment. Also, learning satisfaction survey was conducted afterwards. The findings of this study reveal that results of the post-test total scores and behavior are significantly higher than the pre-test total scores and behavior results for both the experimental and control groups. Particularly, organization, language usage, and the overall performance in the students’ writings are significantly improved. Scores for affection and behavior and total scores for attitude toward writing are significantly higher for the experimental group than for the control group. Both groups show significant satisfaction with the instructional method, interactivity, and total grades.

The Twilight School at Danbury High School in Connecticut helps students who are in danger of failing their freshman year to get back on track. In its first year, the program offered special credit-bearing after-school courses in biology and English to students who failed those classes in their first semester. The smaller class sizes and informal atmosphere engaged the students and enabled the DHS educators who taught these courses to experiment with new-to-them instructional techniques, such as blended learning, some of which were later rolled out schoolwide. Of the 75 students who completed the course, 64 earned credits that helped them advance to their sophomore year.

The purpose of this research was to determine the effect of blended learning model on senior high school students’ achievement. This study used experimental research method with randomized control group pretest-posttest design. The study was carried out with 63 students attending information and communication technology course, where 31 of whom were in the experimental group and 32 of whom were in the control group. In the experimental group, teacher used blended learning as instructional model, while in the control group, the course was taught based on traditional teaching model. Data collected from the result of learning objective test with 35 questions. The research showed that the learning result of experimental group is higher than the learning result of control group. Based on the result of this research, it can be concluded that the blended learning model contributed more to the students’ achievement.

Abstracts: What are Responses and Expectations of Senior High School Students to Blended Learning? The effectiveness of learning innovation could not ignore an important aspect of student’s characteristics. The purposes of this research were to (1) describe the response of high school (SMA) students towards learning chemistry delivered by blended learning (BL), and (2) to explore the expectations of students towards the online content and chemistry learning management deli-vered by BL. To obtain the responses and the expectations of students, 140 questionnaires distri-buted online to the grade nine of class XI MIA SMA students (respondents) in seven SMAin seven-regencies in Bali: SMAN 1 Gianyar, SMAN 1 Sidemen Karangasem, SMAN 2 Semarapura, SMAN 5 Denpasar, SMAN 1 Singaraja, SMAN 1 Kuta Utara, and SMAN 1 Kediri Tabanan. The result of the research shows that only 110 respondentscompleted a questionnaire of students responsesabout BL and 106 respondents completed questionnaires of students’ expectations towards online content and management of BL. SMA students gave a positive response to the application of BL and provi-ded important inputs which were useful fordeveloping online content and management of BL for se-nior high school students.Key Words: blended learning, chemistry instruction, online contentAbstrak: Apa Respons dan Harapan Siswa SMA tentang Blended Learning?

We advocate the in-depth integration of information technology and education in the digital age, and we also encourage teachers of all disciplines to actively carry out online and offline blended learning. This study attempts to use an empirical research to apply the Blended Learning to the oral English teaching in the first year of senior high school. A one-semester teaching experiment is conducted to explore whether there is a significant difference in the students’ oral English proficiency between the experimental class and the controlled class. The major findings of the study are as follows: (1) There are significant differences of students’ oral English proficiency before and after the experiment in the experimental class and the controlled class; (2) Blended learning can improve students’ oral English proficiency, among which pronunciation and intonation, range and accuracy of vocabulary and fluency of language are the most significant ones, while the accuracy and complexity of grammatical structure are insignificant.
