ABSTRACTThe purpose of this study is (1) describes the vocabulary mastery of VIII grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Sintuk Toboh Gadang, (2) describe the news text writing skills of eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Sintuk Toboh Gadang, and (3) analyze the contribution of vocabulary mastery to news writing skills of eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Sintuk Toboh Gadang. This type of research is quantitative research with descriptive methods. Contributions are calculated using the determinant coefficient formula with correlational research design. The population of this research is the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Sintuk Toboh Gadang in the 2018/2019 school year with a total of 219 people spread over eight classes. The sample of this study was 136 people, taken using propotional random sampling. Based on the results of the study, it is known that (1) the vocabulary mastery of Grade VIII students of SMP Negeri 1 Sintuk Toboh Gadang is more than adequate with a value of 67.34, (2) news writing skills of VIII grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Sintuk Toboh Gadang are in good qualifications with a value of 81.43, (3) there is a significant relationship between vocabulary mastery and news text writing skills of Grade VIII students of SMP Negeri 1 Sintuk Toboh Gadang with a count of 0.222 greater than rtable 0.168 at dk = 135 alpha 0.05 with a contribution of X to Y of 4.06%.Kata Kunci: kontribusi, kosakata, teks berita

ABSTRACTThe purpose of this study is to describe the following matters. First, it describes the reading skills of students in class VIII of SMP Negeri 8 Padang. Second, describe the news writing skills of VIII students of SMP Negeri 8 Padang. Third, it describes the correlation between reading comprehension skills and news writing skills of eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 8 Padang. This type of research is quantitative research with descriptive methods. The results of this study are three. First, reading comprehension skills of eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 8 Padang are in good qualifications. This was concluded based on an average count of 81.13. Second, the writing skills of news texts for eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 8 Padang are in good qualifications. This can be seen from the acquisition of the average news text writing test count of 81.25. Third, there is a significant correlation between reading comprehension skills and news writing skills of VIII grade students of SMP Negeri 8 Padang at n-1 degrees of freedom and a significant level of 95%.  The null hypothesis is rejected and the work hypothesis is accepted because the test result prove the t value is greater than t table 3.81 > 1.68. Based on the result of the study above, it was concluded about the knowledge of reading skills in reading news texts of eight grade students of SMP Negeri 8 Padang.Kata Kunci: korelasi, membaca pemahaman, menulis teks berita

ABSTRACT There are three aims of this study. First, describe the skills of reading comprehention to the news of VIII grade students at SMP Negeri 7 Padang. Second, describe the writing text skills of VIII grade students at SMP Negeri 7 Padang. Third, describe the correlation of reading comprehention to the news with the writing text skills of VIII grade students at SMP Negeri 7 Padang. The  type of this research is quantitative in terms of descriptive methods. The design used in this study is correlational design. The population of this study was the eighth grade students of the SMP Negeri 7 Padang which was registered in the 2018/2019 school year, it was 254 students. The sample in this study was determined by proportional random sampling of 15% of the population, namely 40 students. The research data is in the form of scores on the skills test results of reading comprehention to the news and scores on the results of the test writing news text skills. The instrument of this study is an objective test to measure news reading comprehention skills and performance tests to measure news text writing skills. The results of this study are three. First, the skills to write news texts of  VIII grade students of the SMP Negeri 7 Padang is in accordance with the Good qualifications (B) with an averange value 81,25. Second, the skill of reading comprehention to the news text of VIII grade students of the SMP Negeri 7 Padang in accordance with Good qualifications (B) with an averange value 81,37. Third, there is a significant correlation betwen reading comprehention skills and news text writing skills of VIII grade students of the SMP Negeri 7 Padang on n-1 freedom degrees and 95% significant level. H0 is reject and H1is accepted because the tcount is greater than ttable (4,49>2,68).             Kata Kunci: korelasi, keterampilan membaca pemahaman, keterampilan menul   teks berita

ABSTRACT The purpose of the research is to describe the reading skills of students' news text comprehension, Second, to describe the skills of writing news texts of students, third, to describe the correlation of reading comprehension of news texts with news writing skills of students of class VIII at SMP Negeri 9 Padang. The population of this research is VIII grade students of SMP Negeri 9 Padang in the 2019/2020 school year, which is 245 students. The sample in this study was determined by proportional random sampling 25% of 49 students. The research data scores the results of reading text comprehension test scores and the scores of news text writing skills scores. The research instrument is an objective test for reading text comprehension skills and performance tests for news text writing skills. Research Results First, the reading skills of understanding the news text of good qualifying students (B). Second, the skills of writing news texts of good qualifying students (B). Third, there is a correlation between reading comprehension and news writing skills with news writing skills of VIII grade students of SMP Negeri 9 Padang with degrees of freedom n-1 at 95% confidence level. T value (5.55) is greater than t table (1.68), i.e. titung> ttabel (5.55> 1.68) thus H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted because the test results prove that tcount is greater than t table. It can be concluded that reading text comprehension skills are correlated with news text writing skills. Kata Kunci: Korelasi, Membaca Pemahaman, Teks Berita

Second, describe the writing skills of the report observation text of VII grade students at SMP Negeri 33 Padang. Third, describe the correlation of reading comprehention with the writing skills of the report observation text of VII grade students at SMP Negeri 33 Padang. The  type of this research is quantitative in terms of descriptive methods. The design used in this study is correlational design. The population of this study was the seventh grade students of the SMP Negeri 33 Padang which was registered in the 2018/2019 school year, it was 192 students. The sample in this study was determined by proportional random sampling of 20% of the population, namely 36 students. The research data is in the form of scores on the skills test results of reading comprehention and scores on the results of the test writing skills of the report observation text. The instrument of this study is an objective test to measure reading comprehention skills and performance tests to measure report observation text writing skills. The results of this study are three. First, the skills to write report observation texts of  VII grade students of the SMP Negeri 33 Padang is in accordance with the Good qualifications (B) with an averange value 82,99. Second, the skill of reading comprehention of VII grade students of the SMP Negeri 33 Padang in accordance with Good qualifications (B) with an averange value 81,42. Third, there is a significant correlation betwen reading comprehention skills and report observation text writing skills of VIII grade students of the SMP Negeri 7 Padang on n-1 freedom degrees and 95% significant level. H0 is reject and H1is accepted because the tcount is greater than ttable (13,59 > 2,68).  Kata Kunci: Korelasi, Keterampilan Membaca Pemahaman, Keterampilan Menulis Teks Laporan Hasil Observasi.

Writing is one of language skill that must be mastered by the language learners.The teacher must be selective in relevant methode, media and technique, that is can engage the students to be more effective and creative in achieve the goal of learning. One of the media that is used in language teaching is email,because, it may motivate and reinforce any language skill the students. And as graphic commuicatioan to give the certain massage accurately and short with use the language it easy to be understand.The statement of the problemsof thisresearch are; (1) Is there any effect of email on students‟ writing skillsat the eighth graders ofMTs. Mu’allimat NW Kelayu in the school year2017-2018? (2) To what extent is the effect ofemail on students‟ writing skills at the eighth graders of MTs. Mu’allimat NW Kelayu in the school year2017-2018?. This study belongs to a pre experimental research. The population was the eighth grade students of MTs. Mu’allimat NW Kelayu consisting of two classes. However the present researcher just took one class as sample there were 20 students as the experimental class. To get the data, the present researcher used research instrument namely written test.The result of data analyze, the present researcher found out the result rtest was 0.52 and r tablewas 0.38 with df = 5% from the total of sample was twenty students. It means rtest was higher than rtable (0.52> 0.38). So that, the present researcher concluded alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted, and null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected. It means that there was effect of email on students‟ writing skillsatthe eighth graders of MTs. Mu’allimat NW Kelayu in the school year2017-2018

ABSTRACT The purpose of this research there are three. First, it describes the skills of reading comprehension text news grade VIII SMP Negeri Padang 18. Second, the governing text news writing skills of students of class VIII SMP Negeri Padang 18. Third, to analyze the correlation between the skills of reading comprehension texts with news writing skills text news grade VIII SMP Negeri Padang 18. Type of this research is a descriptive method quantitative research. The research design used was the korelasional relationship of two variables. The population of this research grade VIII SMP Negeri Padang 18 listed on the 2018/2019 school year with a total of 168 students scattered in five classes. The sample in this study amounted to 40 people. Sample taken using a simple random technique with a precision of 15% using simple random sampling. Research instrument this is a test performance, namely, test write text news and objective tests the skills of reading comprehension text news. Based on the data analysis and discussion, obtained three of the following. First, the skills of reading comprehension text news grade VIII SMP Negeri Padang is at 18 qualifying well. It is inferred based on the average count of 82.56. Secondly, the text of the news writing skills of students of class VIII SMP Negeri 18 are on good qualification. This can be seen from the average earnings to calculate a test write text news of 79.17. Third, there is a significant relationship between the relationship skills reading comprehension texts with news writing skills text news have a relationship on a significant level 95% with dk = n-1. Based on test-t accepted hypothesis, because thitung > t table i.e. 2,509 > 1.68. Kata kunci: Membaca Pemahaman, Teks Berita

There are three objectives in this study as follows. First, this study describes the reading comprehension skills of the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 17 Padang. Second, this study describes the writing skills of the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 17 Padang. Third, this study was to analyze the correlation between reading comprehension skills of the news text and writing skills of the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 17 Padang. This type of research is descriptive quantitative research. The research design applied in this study is a correlational relationship of two variables. The population in this study were students of class VIII SMP Negeri 17 Padang in the academic year 2019/2020. The samples in this study were 32 students. Samples were taken using simple random sampling or simple random sampling. The research instruments are objective tests and performance tests. Based on data analysis, three results were obtained from this study. First, reading comprehension skills of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 17 Padang with good qualifications with an average score of 81.80. Second, the skills of writing news texts for eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 17 Padang with good qualifications with an average score of 72.30. Third, there is a significant relationship between the relationship between reading comprehension skills and news text writing skills of eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 17 Padang which has a significant level of 95%. Based on the hypothesis test, it is accepted that the skills in writing news texts are also in sufficient qualifications (76-85%). Based on the results of the study, H₀ is rejected and H₁ is accepted because the test results prove that t count is greater than t table, namely 8.01> 1.63.

ABSTRACT The purpose of this study is three. First, describe the reading skills of explanatory text understanding of class VIII Batusangkar 2 Middle School. Second, describe the explanatory text writing skills of class VIII Batusangkar 2 Middle School. Third, describing reading correlation understanding explanatory text with explanatory text writing skills of class VIII Batusangkar 2 Middle School. This article was written to describe reading skills in understanding explanatory texts with explanatory text writing skills of class VIII students of SMP N 2 Batusangkar. This type of research is quantitative research using descriptive methods. The research design used is correlational. The population in this study was the eighth grade students of SMPN 2 Batusangkar who were enrolled in the 2017/2018 academic year totaling 245 students. Samples were taken using proportional random sampling. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that the correlation between reading skills comprehension of explanatory texts and explanatory text writing skills of class VIII Batusangkar 2 Junior High School with 95% evidence with n-1 degrees of freedom; t-count> t-table (5.55)> (1.68). ABSTRACT The purpose of this research there are three. First, describing news text writing skills. Second, describe the skills of listening to news texts. Third, describe the correlation of listening to news text skills with news text writing skills. This type of research is quantitative with descriptive method. The design of this research is correlational. The population in this research were all eighth grade students of class VIII SMP Negeri 34 of Padang who were enrolled in the 2018/2019 school year, namely 223 student. There are two variable in this research, namely the dependent variable (Y) the ability to write news text and the independent variable (X) the skill of listening to news text. The data in this study were scores on the skills of writing news texts and skills score listening to news texts. The instrument used is a test, which is an objective test for listening to news text skills and performance tests for news text writing skills. The results of this research are three. First, news text writing skills of class VIII SMP Negeri 34 of Padang are in good qualification (80,75). Second, listening to the news text skills of clas VIII SMP Negeri 34 of Padang are in good qualification (77,57). Third, listening to news text skill correlates with news text writing skills. Based on this , it can be conclude that to improve writing skills, listening skills must be improved.  Kata kunci : Korelasi, Menyimak, Menulis, dan Teks Berita

ABSTRACT There are three objectives of this research. First, describing the comprehension of journalistic vocabulary  at students grade VIII SMP Negeri 22 Padang. Second, describing the  writing skill of  news text at student grade VIII SMP Negeri 22 Padang. Third, describing the contribution of journalistic vocabulary towards the skill in writing news text at students grade VIII SMP Negeri 22 Padang. This is a quantitative research with descriptive method and using correlational research design. Population and sample of this research are VIII th grade student of SMP Negeri 22 Padang consist of 223 students and 44 sample students. This research use Simple Random Sampling technique. This experiment consists of two variables: vocabulary as the independent variable (X) and the writing skills of news text as a dependent variable (Y). Based of result data analyze and explanation, were concluded 3 case. First, comprehension of journalistic vocabulary on students grade at VIII  SMP Negeri 22 Padang  was on good qualification (83,88). Second, writing skills of news text  at students grade VIII SMP  Negeri 22 Padang was on good qualification (81,91). Third,  comprehension  vocabulary on environment  areacontributed toward writing skills news text  at students grade VIII  SMP Negeri 22 Padang.
