ABSTRACT The purpose of this research there are three. First, describing news text writing skills. Second, describe the skills of listening to news texts. Third, describe the correlation of listening to news text skills with news text writing skills. This type of research is quantitative with descriptive method. The design of this research is correlational. The population in this research were all eighth grade students of class VIII SMP Negeri 34 of Padang who were enrolled in the 2018/2019 school year, namely 223 student. There are two variable in this research, namely the dependent variable (Y) the ability to write news text and the independent variable (X) the skill of listening to news text. The data in this study were scores on the skills of writing news texts and skills score listening to news texts. The instrument used is a test, which is an objective test for listening to news text skills and performance tests for news text writing skills. The results of this research are three. First, news text writing skills of class VIII SMP Negeri 34 of Padang are in good qualification (80,75). Second, listening to the news text skills of clas VIII SMP Negeri 34 of Padang are in good qualification (77,57). Third, listening to news text skill correlates with news text writing skills. Based on this , it can be conclude that to improve writing skills, listening skills must be improved.  Kata kunci : Korelasi, Menyimak, Menulis, dan Teks Berita

ABSTRACT The purpose of this study is three. First, describe the listening skills of class VIII interview at SMP Negeri 23 Padang. Second, describing the news text writing skills of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 23 Padang. Third, describe the correlation of listening skills to interviews with news text writing skills of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 23 Padang. This type of research is a quantitative descriptive method. The design used in this study is correlational design. The population of this study was Class VIII of SMP Negeri 23 Padang. The sample in this study was determined by proportional random sampling of 25% of the population, namely 51 students. The research data were test scores on interview listening skills and news text writing skills test scores. The research instrument was an objective test to measure interview listening skills and performance tests to measure news text writing skills. The results of this study are three. First, the writing text skills of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 23 Padang are in more than enough qualifications. Secondly, listening to interview skills is more than adequate. Third, listening skills interviewed were correlated at 7,41 with news text writing skills of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 23 Padang.                Kata Kunci: Korelasi, Keterampilan Menyimak Wawancara, Keterampilan Menulis Teks Berita

ABSTRACT There are three aims of this study. First, describe the skills of reading comprehention to the news of VIII grade students at SMP Negeri 7 Padang. Second, describe the writing text skills of VIII grade students at SMP Negeri 7 Padang. Third, describe the correlation of reading comprehention to the news with the writing text skills of VIII grade students at SMP Negeri 7 Padang. The  type of this research is quantitative in terms of descriptive methods. The design used in this study is correlational design. The population of this study was the eighth grade students of the SMP Negeri 7 Padang which was registered in the 2018/2019 school year, it was 254 students. The sample in this study was determined by proportional random sampling of 15% of the population, namely 40 students. The research data is in the form of scores on the skills test results of reading comprehention to the news and scores on the results of the test writing news text skills. The instrument of this study is an objective test to measure news reading comprehention skills and performance tests to measure news text writing skills. The results of this study are three. First, the skills to write news texts of  VIII grade students of the SMP Negeri 7 Padang is in accordance with the Good qualifications (B) with an averange value 81,25. Second, the skill of reading comprehention to the news text of VIII grade students of the SMP Negeri 7 Padang in accordance with Good qualifications (B) with an averange value 81,37. Third, there is a significant correlation betwen reading comprehention skills and news text writing skills of VIII grade students of the SMP Negeri 7 Padang on n-1 freedom degrees and 95% significant level. H0 is reject and H1is accepted because the tcount is greater than ttable (4,49>2,68).             Kata Kunci: korelasi, keterampilan membaca pemahaman, keterampilan menul   teks berita

ABSTRACT The purpose of this research there are three. First, describe vocabulary mastery Class VII students of SMP Negeri Padang 16. Second, it describes the text of the story of fantasy writing skills grade VII JUNIOR Country 16. Third, vocabulary mastery with correlation describes writing skills text story fantasy grade VII SMP Negeri Padang. 16.  This research type is quantitative descriptive method. The design used in this research is the design korelasional. This research population is grade VII SMP Negeri Padang 16. listed on the 2018/2019 school year, that is 284 students. The sample in this research are determined by proportional random sampling of 20% of the population, i.e. 50 students. Research data is a score test results and score vocabulary mastery test results writing skills text story fantasy. Research instrument is an objective test to measure mastery of vocabulary news and performance tests to measure the writing skills text story fantasy. Based on the results of such research, it can be inferred that the skills of listening text news is correlated with writing skills text news. ABSTRACT The purpose of the study is to describe the skill of reading Fable Story Texts on Writing Skills for Fable Story Texts of Class VIII Students of SMP Negeri 35 Padang. This type of research is quantitative with descriptive method. The design used in this study is design contribution. The population of this study was the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 35 Padang who were enrolled in the 2019/2020 school year, namely as many as 134 students. The sample in this study was determined by proportional random sampling of 25% of the population, namely 35 students. The data of this study were in the form of scores on the results of the test skills for reading fable text and tests of fable story writing skills. The data was obtained through two types of tests namely objective tests to measure the skill of reading fable story texts and performance tests to measure the writing skills of fable stories. The results of this study are three. First, the ability to read fable story texts in class VIII Padang Public Middle School 35 is in good qualification (B) with an average value of 77.55. Second, the skill to write fable story texts in grade VIII Padang Public Middle School 35 is in good qualification (B) with an average value of 73.97. Third, there is a contribution to the contribution of fable's text reading skills to the fable writing text skills of Grade VIII students of Padang State Middle School at 67.57%. It was concluded that the skill to read fable story texts contributed to the skill of writing fable story texts. Kata kunci: Kontribusi, Keterampilan membaca, Menulis, Teks Cerita Fabel

Second, describe the writing text skills of VIII grade students of the Middle School Development in the Construction of the UNP Laboratory. Third, describe the contribution of listening to the news with the writing text skills of  VIII grade students at the UNP Laboratory Development.The  type of this research is quantitative in terms of descriptive methods. The design used in this study is correlational design. The population of this study was the eighth grade students of the Middle School Development of the UNP Laboratory which was registered in the 2017/2018 school year, it was 168 students.The sample in this study was determined by proportional random sampling of 25% of the population, namely 42 students. The research data is in the form of scores on the skills test results of listening to the news and scores on the results of the test writing news text skills. The instrument of this study is an objective test to measure news listening skills and performance tests to measure news text writing skills.The results of this study are three. First, the skills to write news texts of  VIII grade students of the Middle School Development.The development of the UNP Laboratory is in accordance with the Good qualifications (B). Second, the skill of listening to the news text of VIII grade students of the Middle School Development of the UNP Laboratory Development in accordance with Good qualifications (B). Second, describe the writing skills of the report observation text of VII grade students at SMP Negeri 33 Padang. Third, describe the correlation of reading comprehention with the writing skills of the report observation text of VII grade students at SMP Negeri 33 Padang. The  type of this research is quantitative in terms of descriptive methods. The design used in this study is correlational design. The population of this study was the seventh grade students of the SMP Negeri 33 Padang which was registered in the 2018/2019 school year, it was 192 students. The sample in this study was determined by proportional random sampling of 20% of the population, namely 36 students. The research data is in the form of scores on the skills test results of reading comprehention and scores on the results of the test writing skills of the report observation text. The instrument of this study is an objective test to measure reading comprehention skills and performance tests to measure report observation text writing skills. The results of this study are three. First, the skills to write report observation texts of  VII grade students of the SMP Negeri 33 Padang is in accordance with the Good qualifications (B) with an averange value 82,99. Second, the skill of reading comprehention of VII grade students of the SMP Negeri 33 Padang in accordance with Good qualifications (B) with an averange value 81,42. Third, there is a significant correlation betwen reading comprehention skills and report observation text writing skills of VIII grade students of the SMP Negeri 7 Padang on n-1 freedom degrees and 95% significant level. H0 is reject and H1is accepted because the tcount is greater than ttable (13,59 > 2,68).  Kata Kunci: Korelasi, Keterampilan Membaca Pemahaman, Keterampilan Menulis Teks Laporan Hasil Observasi.

ABSTRACT This article reveals the contribution of mastery of the intrinsic elements to writing skills of the short story text grade students XI SMAN 2 Bukittinggi. The purpose of this research there are three. First, it describes the mastery of the intrinsic elements. Second, it describes the writing skills of the short story text. Third, describing the contribution of mastery of the intrinsic elements to writing skills of the short story text. This research type is quantitative, descriptive method, and design contribution. This research population is grade XI that are registered on the school year 2018/2019, i.e. as many as 311 students. The sample in this research are determined by proportional random sampling of 10% of the population, i.e. 30 students. The research data are scores as a result of mastering the intrinsic elements and the scores of writing skills from the short story text. The data obtained through two types of tests i.e. objective tests to measure the mastery of the instrinsic elements and performance tests to measure the skills of writing a short story text. The results of the research there are three. First, the mastery of the intrinsic elements are on good qualifications (B) by the value of the average 77,67. Second, the skills of writing text short story are on more than enough qualifications (LdC) with an average of 70,00. ABSTRACT The purpose of this study was categorized into three. First, to describe the effective sentence mastery of the first year students at SMK Negeri 2 Padang. Second, to describe the writing skills of a exposition of the first year students at SMK Negeri 2 Padang. Third, to describe the contribution of the effective sentence mastery into the writing skills of a exposition text made by the first year students at SMK Negeri 2 Padang. The design of this research was quantitative with a descriptive method. Then, this study also was a correlational design. The population of this study was the first year students at SMK Negeri 2 Padang for about 498 students. The sample of this study was taken by using a proportional random sampling technique (15%), which was 70 students. The data of this study were the results of effective sentence mastery and the results of the writing skill of a exposition text. The instrument of this study was an objective test to measure effective sentence mastery and performance tests to measure expositon text. There were several results of this study. First, the effective sentence mastery of the first year students at SMK Negeri 2 Padang was in Good qualifications (B). Second, the writing skills of a exposition of the first year students at SMK Negeri 2 Padang was in a Good qualification (B). Third, describe the effective sentence mastery contributed 82,00% to the exposition text writing skills of the first year students of SMK Negeri 2 Padang. Kata Kunci: kontribusi, penguasaan kalimat efektif,  keterampilan menulis teks eksposisi

<p align="center"><span lang="EN-US">This study aims to study whether there was interest interested in learning explanatory text writing students. This type of research is quantitative with a 2x2 <em>factorial design</em>. Students are grouped into two classes, namely the experimental class and the control class. The experimental class in this study was in class XI IPA 1, while the control class was in XI IPA 3. The instruments used to collect data were reading interest questionnaires and performance tests for explanatory text writing skills. The results of this study are the following two things. First, explanatory text writing skills of students who have high reading interest in the experimental class are better than students who have high reading interest in the control class. Second, explanatory text writing skills of students who have low reading interest in the experimental class are better than students who have low reading interest in the control class.</span></p>

Thirdly, describing the contribution of fable text apreciprocative reading skills to text writing skills Fable class VII SMP Negeri 30 Padang.  This type of research is quantitative by a descriptive method. The design used in this study is design contributions. The population of this study is class VII junior high School 30 Padang registered in the school year 2018/2019, which is as many as 254 students. The samples in this study were determined by proportional random sampling of 20% of the population, which is 56 students. This research Data is in the form of scores of test skills read Fable text appreciative and score test results of text writing fable. The results of this study were three. First, the skill of reading a text apresiative fable grade VII students SMP Negeri 30 Padang is in good qualification (B) with an average value of 74.19. Secondly, the writing skills of text fable grade VII students SMP Negeri 30 Padang are in good qualification (B) with an average of 76.64. Thirdly, there is a contribution of reading skills fable text appreciative to the writing skills of text fable grade VII students SMP Negeri 30 Padang amounted to 51.4%. Kata Kunci: Kontribusi, Keterampilan Membaca Apresiatif, Keterampilan Menulis Teks Fabel
