ABSTRACT The purpose of this study is to describe reading comprehension skills, exposition text writing skills, and correlation reading comprehension skills and exposition text writing skills of class X students of Padang Panjang High School. The results of this study are three, namely (1) reading comprehension skills of students of class X exposition in SMA Negeri 1 Padang Panjang are in good qualifications, with an average value (80.68), (2) writing skills of students exposition writing class X SMA Negeri 1 Padang Panjang is in good qualifications  with an average grade (82.52), (3) there is a relationship between reading ability and writing exposition text skills in class X students of SMA Negeri 1 Padang Panjang, with degrees freedom n-1 at a 95% confidence level. T value (14.79) is greater than t table (0.168), that is tcount> t table (14.79> 1.68) so H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted because the test results prove that t count is greater than t table. Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that the reading comprehension skills of the exposition text correlated with the writing skills of the exposition text. The better the reading comprehension skills of exposition text, the better the writing skills of exposition text. Kata Kunci: Korelasi, Keterampilan Membaca Pemahaman, Keterampilan Menulis Teks Eksposisi

This study aims to determine the effect of variable vocabulary and reading comprehension skills of argument essay writing. Method used is the method of survey with a sample of students of 40 students were taken by random sampling technique from Tunas High School Jaka Sampurna in Bekasi. Data collection using the validated test instrument. Regression equation Y ̂=1,079+0,385X_1 wich means that if the students vocabulary mastery is ignoed, then the ability to write arguments for 1,079. Every adding one point to the vocabulary it will add the ability to write the argument of 0,385 point. Regression equation Y ̂=1,079+0,355X_2 whic means that if reading comprehension is ignored, then the argument of 1,079 skill writing, meaning the reading comprehension is ignored then the ability to write arguments. For each additional 1,079 points in reading comprehension, reading comprehension will add 0,353 points. It can be concluden that the vocabulary and reading comprehension together affect 23,4% of the writing skills of argumentation percent of the value. (koef determinate R2 = 0,234 with the value of the test F = 5,665.

The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the reading comprehension skills of the descriptive text and the writing skills of the seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Bonjol. This research used quantitative research using a descriptive correlational design. In this study, there were two variables, namely the X variable and the Y variable. The X variable was the reading comprehension skill, while the Y variable was the description text writing skill. The research instruments were objective tests and performance tests. The data of this study are the results of the reading comprehension skills test and the results of the descriptive text writing skills test. The test results were compared using the t-test formula to determine the correlation between the reading comprehension skills and the descriptive text writing skills of the seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Bonjol. There are three results in this study. First, the reading skills of grade VII students of SMP Negeri 1 Bonjol are in good qualifications with an average score of 81.65. Second, the writing skills of the seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Bonjol are in good qualifications with an average score of 78.58. Third, based on the results of the t-test, it can be concluded that there is a relationship between comprehension reading skills and the descriptive text writing skills of seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Bonjol.

ABSTRACTThe purpose of this study is three. First, it describes the writing skills of the description text of grade VII students of SMP Negeri 25 Padang. Second, describe the reading comprehension skills of the VII grade students of SMP Negeri 25 Padang. Third, analyze the correlation between reading comprehension and description text skills with the writing skills of the VII grade students of SMP Negeri 25 Padang. This type of research is quantitative research with descriptive methods. The design (design) in this study is correlational. By using simple random sampling technique, the sample in this study amounted to 48 students. The research instrument was an objective test to measure comprehension reading skills and performance tests to measure description writing skills. The conclusion of this research is thirteen. First, the description writing skills of grade VII students of SMP Negeri 25 Padang are in good qualifications. Second, reading comprehension text skills of the seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 25 Padang are in good qualifications. Third, there is a significant relationship between reading comprehension text description skills and writing text description of students in grade VII of SMP Negeri 25 Padang at n-1 degrees of freedom and a significant level of 95%. H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted because the test results prove that the value is greater than t table (2,468> 1.68). Kata Kunci : Korelasi, Kemampuan Membaca Pemahaman, Keterampilan Menulis Teks Deskripsi

<em>This study aims to improve students' reading comprehension skills by using the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) method. This research method was conducted in 3 cycles using a classroom action research design belonging to Kemmis and Mc Taggart. In implementing this research, the steps of the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) method are used, which are divided into three stages, namely the opening activity, the core activity, and the closing activity. The results of the research in the first cycle obtained an average value of 78.6 with the percentage of students who had completed 70% and those who had not completed were 30%. Furthermore, in the second cycle an average score of 85.5 was obtained with the percentage of students who had completed 90% and those who had not completed were 10%. Meanwhile, in cycle III, an average score of 89.8 was obtained with the percentage of students who completed 100%. The results obtained, namely the Cooperative Integrated Reading And Composition (CIRC) method can improve reading comprehension skills of fourth grade students of SDN 3 Cilangkap, Tasikmalaya Regency.</em>

ABSTRACT Research purposes. First, describe students' reading comprehension skills. Second, describe the skills of writing Description text. Third, describe the correlation between reading comprehension skills and text writing skills Description of Grade VII students of the UNP Laboratory Development Middle School. This type of quantitative research is a correlational method. The study design was correlational two variables. The research population of VII grade students of SMP UNP Laboratory Development registered in the academic year 2019/2020 total 142 students in five classes. The sample in the study was 37 people. Samples were taken by simple 25% random technique using proportional random sampling technique. The research instruments were performance tests, description writing text tests and objective reading comprehension skills tests. Conclusion. First, students' reading comprehension skills are in good qualifications (78.98). Second, the students' written text description skills are in good qualifications (83,12). Third, reading comprehension skills correlate with text writing skills Description of VII graders of SMP UNP Laboratory Development with degrees of freedom n-2 at 95% confidence level. T value is greater than t table that is 2.637> 1.68, thus H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted because the test results prove that t count is greater than t table. the conclusion "There is a correlation between reading comprehension skills and writing skills text. Description of Grade VII students of SMP UNP Laboratory Development" was accepted. ABSTRACTThe purpose of this study is three. First, it describes the reading comprehension skills of the VII grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Padang Panjang. Second, describe the writing skills of the description text of grade VII students of SMP Negeri 1 Padang Panjang. Third, describe the correlation of reading comprehension text description with the description writing skills of grade VII students of SMP Negeri 1 Padang Panjang. This type of research is quantitative with descriptive methods. The design used in this study is a corelasinoal design. The population of this research is class VII students of Padang Panjang State Junior High School registered in the 2018/2019 school year, which is 192 students. The sample in this study was determined by proportional random sampling of 25% of the population, that is 48 students. The data of this study were in the form of scores on the reading comprehension test scores of the description text description and the scores on the writing of the description text skills. The data was obtained through two types of tests namely objective tests to measure reading comprehension text skills and performance tests to measure description text writing skills. Based on data analysis and discussion, three research results are obtained as follows. First, reading comprehension text skills of grade VII students of SMP Negeri 1 Padang Panjang are in good qualifications. This can be seen from the acquisition of an average of 81.35. Second, the description writing skills of grade VII students of SMP Negeri 1 Padang Panjang are in good qualifications. This can be seen from the acquisition of an average of 77.15. Third, there is a significant relationship between reading comprehension text description skills and description writing skills for grade VII students of SMP Negeri 1 Padang Panjang. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that there is a correlation between reading comprehension and description text writing skills with the description text of Grade VII students of SMP Negeri 1 Padang Panjang at n-1 degrees of freedom and a significant level of 95%. So, it was concluded that the higher the reading comprehension skills of students 'description texts, the higher the students' writing description text skills. Kata kunci: Keterampilan Membaca Pemahaman, Keterampilan                    Menulis, Teks Deskripsi, Korelasi

ABSTRACT The purpose of this study is three. First, describe comprehension reading skills. Second, describe explanatory text writing skills. Third, describe the correlation of reading comprehension skills with explanatory text writing skills of class XI students of SMA Adabiah Padang. This type of research is quantitative with descriptive method. The design of this study is correlational design. The study population was registered in 2018/2019, which is 287 students. The research sample was proportional random sampling of 20% of the population of 57 students. The research data is in the form of scores on the results of comprehension reading skills tests and scores on the results of explanatory text writing skills. The instrument of this study was an objective test to measure comprehension reading skills and performance tests to measure writing skills. The results of this study are three. First, reading comprehension skills of class XI students of SMA Adabiah Padang are of good qualification (B). Second, explanatory text writing skills of class XI students of SMA Adabiah Padang are of good qualification (B). Third, there is a correlation of reading comprehension skills with explanatory text writing skills with n-1 freedom degrees at the 95% confidence level. The value of tcount (38.54) is greater than t table (1.66) that is tcount> ttable (38.54> 1.68) thus H0 is rejected and H1. Based on the results of these studies it was concluded that reading comprehension skills correlated with explanatory text writing skills.  Kata Kunci: Korelasi, Keterampilan Membaca Pemahaman, Keterampilan Menulis Teks Eksplanasi.

ABSTRACT The purpose of this study is to describe reading skills, writing skills and describe the contribution of reading skills to the description of text description skills in writing description texts of class VII students of SMP Negeri 13 Padang. This type of research is quantitative with descriptive method. The population of this study was Grade VII students of SMP Negeri 13 Padang, which were 224 students. The sample in this study was determined by proportional random sampling of 15% of the population, namely 35 students. The results of the study on reading skills in understanding the description text of students are in good qualification (B) with an average of 82.71. In writing description text skills students are in good qualification (B) with an average of 83.10. On the contribution of reading skills, the understanding of the description text towards the students' writing text writing skills is 94.48%. The better the reading skill of understanding the description text, the better the writing skills of the text description. Thus, to be skilled in writing the description text of class VII students of SMP Negeri 13 Padang, good reading comprehension skills are also needed. Kata Kunci: Kontribusi, keterampilan membaca pemahaman teks deskripsi,  keterampilan menulis teks deskripsi

ABSTRACT This article reveals the correlation of reading comprehension skills with writing skills of explanatory texts grade students XI SMA Negeri Padang 14. There are three purposes of this study. First, to describe the reading comprehension skills of class XI SMA Negeri 14 Padang. Second, to describe the explanatory text writing skills of class XI SMA Negeri 14 Padang . Third, to describe the correlation of reading comprehension skills with explanatory text writing skills in class XI SMA Negeri 14 Padang. This type of research is quantitative with descriptive method. The design used in this study is correlation design. The population of this study is was XI SMA Negeri 14 who were enrolled in the 2018/2019 school year, which was 273 students. The sample in this study was determined by proportional random sampling of 15% of the population which is 40 students. The research data is in the form of scores on the result of explanatory writing skills. The istrument of this study is an objective test to measure comprehension reading skills and performance tests to measure explanatory writing skills. The results of this study are three. First, the reading comprehension skills of students XI SMA Negeri 14 Padang are in good qualification (B). Second, explanatory text writing skills of students  XI SMA Negeri 14 Padang are in good qualification (B). Third, reading comprehension skills have a significant correlation with explanatory text writing skills of the eleventh grade students XI SMA Negeri 14 Padang of  at 76%, while remaining 24% is influenced by other factors not examined in this study. Kata kunci: Korelasi, Keterampilan, Membaca Pemahaman, Menulis, Teks Eksplanasi
