The modern directions of development of fan fiction as a media system that has acquired the characteristics of self-organization are actualized. Three stages of development of scientific views on the formation of the process of collective authorship are presented: from narrative criticism and isolation of media features of fandoms to comprehension of the facts of the reverse influence of fan fiction on culture and communication processes. On the example of the development of modern fan fiction space, the phenomena that express the communicative nature of the fan fiction community, as well as the network nature of its organization are proposed for analysis: creation of podcast systems; according to the logic of canonical blockbuster universes, the development of complex multi-story stories with the involvement of a large number of participants. The paradoxical phenomena that arise in this media system - the growth of original works not related to rethinking and implementing alternative lines of the canon, the emergence of the phenomenon of the passive spectator - are explained by the influence of general cultural trends and local national practices. Indirectly, the influence of fan-fiction activity is presented in various manifestations and trends: the phenomena of secondary and tertiary communication, the transformation of the fan into canonical texts for further fiction, the active departure of fans outside closed communities and the impact on modern cultural practices. Examples of the latter are illustrated by the use of fan fiction in writing scripts for series; creation of spin-products; taking into account fan thoughts when developing the plots of TV series and books. The prospects of communication research are motivated by the dynamics of growth of the object of study and the complexity of modern methods of analysis. The presence of contradictory tendencies and manifestations problematizes the finality and immutability of already established scientific approaches, forces to turn to technical approaches using big-date methods.

The article is devoted to the analysis of the genre of the author’s prayer in the literary works of Wіra Wowk. The object of study for the first time was not only poetic, but also the writer’s prose and dramatic texts. The analysis of biographi- cal and literary works testified that the genre of prayer is an integral part of the Wіra Wowk’s work. This genre is multivariate embodied in the writer’s prose, poetry and drama. On the basis of the analysis of biographical and literary criticism, the organicity of the genre of prayer in the work of Vera Vovk and the specifics of his embodiment in prose, poetry and drama is emphasized. It is noted that short aphoristic verses and prayers are characteristic of poetry, and long prayers and meditations are characteristic of prose and drama. The writer puts prayers in the context of the work (characters’ prayers) or introduces them into the plot as inserted elements (author’s prayers). These are prayer-requests, thank-you prayers and prayers-glorification, and also prayers-confessions and prayer-reflexions. Their recipients are the Lord God, the Virgin Mary and the saints (Teresa of Lisieux, Francis of Assisi, Nicholas of Myra). The topics of these prayer texts cover the themes of creativity, spiritual quest, and the fate of the native land. The author’s prayers of Wіra Wowk also have a wide palette of artistic means, namely: biblical reminiscentism (introduction to the text of allusions and symbols from the Old and New Testament), synthesis of poetry and prose (to reproduce the dialogue be- tween earthly and heavenly), symbolism and metaphorical, thanks to which in a few words it is possible to express a deep meaning. Especially brightly these funds are reflected in the poetry of Wіra Wowk. These are verbal prayers and prayers without words (colors, sounds of musical instruments), as well as prayer speech and silence prayer, prayer acts and prayer contemplation. In Wіra Wowk’s poetry there is a distinct and unusual image of the Creator God, embodied in the symbolic guises of the Master, the Gardener, the Jeweler, the Astronomer, the Builder, the Film Director, whom no one sees, and the Captain on the river of life. The analysis shows that the genre of prayer is an integral component of the artistic thinking of Wіra Wowk. The literary prayers of the writer are not copies of canonical texts, but are original works.

Subject. The study focuses on the impact of the digital economy determinants of the education transformation. Objectives. The article provides our own approach treating the education capital as a specific asset of the digital economy, which has an acceleration effect and sets up new trends in education through integrative networks. Methods. The study is based on principles of the systems integration, cross-disciplinary and multidisciplinary approaches. Results. The socio-economic progress was found to be determined with properties of human capital, which are solely specific to the digital economy. In new circumstances, it gets more important for actors of global, national, corporate and social networks to more actively cooperate within distributed networks in order to train high professionals, who would have skills in information networks. Thus, they would raise a new form of human capital – the capital of network education (network-based education capital). We describe positive externalities that arise when the educational sector joins communication processes. We illustrate how educational forms evolves, which are typical of a certain phase of the socio-economic development. The education capital was discovered to grow into a specific asset generating the quasi-rent and working as a social ladder only provided more actors are involved into the network. Conclusions and Relevance. Studying the evolution of educational forms through the cross-disciplinary method, we discovered the need for a system approach, which would help substantiate its transformation in the time of the digital economy, and the emergence of network-based education. These are technologies and tools of the digital economy that become unique factors generating the acceleration effect of the educational capital and ensuring the use of diverse network effects for the formation of intellectual capital and their social transformation.

Digital technologies have changed the relationship between the society and business entities, taxpayers and the state. Ceteris paribus, the ability to effectively manage financial flows and make administrative decisions depends on the correct and established interaction between the state and taxpayers. This study aims to form and develop a taxpayer’s understanding of the digital age with all its features and opportunities for information and communication technologies, including mathematical modeling methods that form the basis of the digital economy for building and sustaining business development, improving the systemic vision of business processes. The research hypothesis is that the further development of economic entities management in the digital context, as well as the coordination of these entities’ interests, is possible only in the partnership of the key economic participants, with the taxpayer at the forefront. That will allow identifying the areas for improving tax trajectories. Using polynomial approximation, the authors have obtained the models of tax trajectories of companies that allow predicting tax burden. The data for approximations are obtained using the previously constructed mathematical model of the optimal tax path. The main input data of the model are fixed assets and human resources, the totality of which form the production function. The analysis of the transformation of tax paths shows ways for achieving a balance of interests between both the state and the taxpayers. Finding this balance will help to overcome the crisis of confidence in the authorities, the development of adaptability and creativity of Russian society to new tax changes. A number of parameters determines the scale of this task. They include the complexity of the object of study, the long-term and multi-aspect nature of the impact which modeling the digital economy has on adaptation to the new digital realities of the state and taxpayers, as well as the absence of significant analogues of the solution to this problem in global and Russian economics.

Computer-mediated communication has important implications for future classroom learning which is no longer spatially bound or centred around text books. It has the ability to incorporate real-life learning whereby students can make important contributions towards solving global problems without having to leave the campus. This study looked at the impact of virtual communication processes and online tools on student and partner engagement in an on-campus undergraduate unit which enables Australian students to create communication campaigns for a non-government organization in India. The study found that the communication exchanges provided students with opportunities for intercultural dialogue, both in real and virtual spaces, and how to use Information and Communications Technology (ICT) and media within a social justice framework within a transnational working environment. Internet technologies have become part of the daily communication pattern of a new generation of students, who see it as their natural environment in which to learn, play and work. It is thus important to expand students’ use of the global digital network from superficial social interactions towards activities which enable them to become active and informed global citizens.

Based on historical and theoretical analysis of the development of social functioning of musical communication, as well as some problems of its management, the author attempts to theoretically justify the ways and means of optimizing music and communication processes that contribute to enhance the social and cultural role of musical art. The article describes fundamental concepts, which should be taken as the basis for the organization of musical life in modern society. The author puts forward such a conceptual theoretical statement as the principle of multi-factor audience differentiation. Consequently, the paper considers important facets of the theory of musical communication management in society, namely the target programming, scientific forecasting and long-term planning. The ways and methods of implementing these principles aimed at the achievement of a certain level of control over the music communication processes in society are also considered. Special attention is paid to the analysis of the impact of current social and economic changes in Russia on the formation of marketing and management in the social life of musical art.

The existing research studies have revealed that project-based learning (PjBL) has significantly helped foreign language learners enhance their cultural understanding as a result of completing their projects (e.g., Bouchouk, 2017; Hsu, 2014; Kim, 2019; Liu et al., 2006; Ngo, 2014). While these studies have congruently proved the utility of PjBL in enhancing students’ cultural awareness, none of them has measured the effect of PjBL together with a comparative and contrastive approach on students’ understanding of their home cultures. Hence, the purpose of this study is to investigate the impact of comparing students’ home cultures with the English cultures through PjBL on students’ understanding of their own cultures in terms of cultural products, cultural practices, and cultural perspectives. Two similar intact groups were randomly assigned to control and treatment groups. The two groups were pretested, administered two different treatments for 24 weeks, and post-tested to assess their differences. The independent sample t-tests results exhibited that the experimental group substantially deepened their understanding of their home cultures as a result of comparing them with the English cultures through PjBL. The study also revealed that while the control group significantly improved their cultural products, those in the experimental group greatly enhanced their knowledge of cultural practices and perspectives.

The article analyzes the consequences of the introduction of border controls and the closure of the external EU border and some internal borders of the EU countries, in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic. The article provides data on the impact of the decisions made on the development of migration processes in the EU countries during the pandemic. Analyzing the new EU migration strategy, the author points out its lofty goals, material and financial support for social protection of migrants, but at the same time, rightly notes that the national peculiarities of the Вестник государственного университета «Дубна». Серия «Науки о человеке и обществе»No4`202027development of countries of receiving migrants are forgotten, the ethnic composition of the states is not taken into account and, most importantly, it pushed into the background socio-historical and cultural practices, the mentality of the state-forming peoples. The absence in the proposed concept of a systematic approach to the development of social practices for the integration of migrants into the host European society indicates that the influence of migrants on the development of the EU countries is underestimated.
