International research in the field of education focuses on the approach and use of mental knowledge-related mechanisms. In the educational research in Romania, we see the absence of studies focused on revision, analysis, and summary of the literature on the concept of representation and a shortage of studies tackling issues concerning creation of quality representations in primary school pupils. The aim of the study is to analyse teachers’ opinions on nine different themes of interest in the lexical field of representation, explored throughout three standard interviews. The interviewees are teaching staff, a professor and two pre-university teachers. The data collected are presented in tables and analysed by manual codification. The results are significant in relation to the theoretical substantiation. The main conclusion of the study is: representations constitute a premise for the optimal functioning of the intellect. Some predictors favourable to creation of quality representations in pupils are t he use of previous cognitive experiences, the accessibility and monitoring of learning as well as the quality of educational aids. By using suitable didactic resources, which reproduce the reality in a simplified manner or bring about elaborated abstractions, the teacher facilitates learning.

This article presents an investigation into how primary-school pupils imagine a good teacher and what characteristics of teachers they appreciate. The teacher’s personality is a quality of central importance to the teaching process. Teachers find themselves in many diverse situations and they cannot always remain the same. Each situation requires different qualities, attitudes and knowledge. In different situations, the teacher can achieve the same educational outcome in various ways, by using a range of methods. No teacher can be expected to have the ideal personality and cannot possibly have all the desired qualities, so some qualities compensate for the lack of others. However, the crucial aspects of a good teacher’s personality is authenticity, naturalness and positive relationship with pupils.

Active teaching is a key component in the education system at all stages of education. In practice, introduction of active teaching in mathematics teaching in primary school poses significant challenges for teachers. To solve this problem, we have developed a methodological approach described in this article. In particular, we suggest an active teaching model whose realization is linked to the inclusion of problems with developmental and interdisciplinary content in the teaching process in mathematics classes. The solutions of these problems are associated with particular themes in mathematics classes. We discuss the methodology for constructing the systems of problems with developmental and interdisciplinary content in accordance with particular themes in mathematics classes in primary school, which is based on the scheme that we developed. We have also analyzed the indicators of including such problems in mathematics classes in primary school and the results of the educational experiment demonstrating that the author’s methodological approaches provide a high quality of mathematical education for primary school pupils, make the teaching process interesting and attractive, and ensure their involvement in the process of active teaching and learning through the systems of specially selected problems.

The present study examines how child drawers selectively use a set of potential expressive strategies in accordance with the nature of the topic being depicted. The phenomenological and psychodynamic method in the evaluation of drawing activity may thus be a particularly appropriate way to find interesting relationships between the variables considered. People leave in a world of signs and symbols that are verbal or gestural or, of a variety of other modalities, graphic. Through drawing, it is possible to represent memories, events, propositions, ideas, plans and also properties of the habitus or of the ethos. Several authors 1 2 3 have proposed that children’s drawings are often based on schemata, which seem to relate to the typical representation of the topic in question. This study lies within broader research into the perception of legality and into the relative effective communication modalities. Primary school pupils, aged 7-9 years, took part in the study to assess the graphic style, quality of shapes and colours, and the graphic accuracy of drawings focusing on the representation of legality.

Covid 19 is a disease that has spread all over the world. It caused upheavals in all societies and segments of society. This also relates to the Serbian society and its educational system. Education, as an important part of society, experienced a concussion. Serbia's cumbersome education system, many ongoing reforms, dissatisfaction of educators, many unresolved issues were now additionally burdened by the crown and everything it brings with it. How much of the education system, to which the primary school belongs, has successfully responded to these changes? The inflexibility and inelasticity of the education system was a major obstacle in response to such a large demand made by the Coronavirus. The transition from school to online teaching was stressful for all participants: pupils, parents and teachers. In addition to changes in the way of working, primary schools in Serbia have faced problems with the lack of information technology needed for distance learning, teaching staff who are not educated for this type of teaching, but also the quality of such teaching. All this raised the question of the quality of knowledge that pupils acquired during distance learning. The paper will discuss the management of the primary school at the time of the Covid 19, the problems encountered and how they were solved.

In thirteen evaluation studies of Audio-Psycho-Phonology (APP) mainly positive results were reported. However, the intrinsic contribution of APP to these favourable outcomes is questioned, in view of underlying methodological problems. This investigation was planned to eliminate such design deficits and to effect a more rigorous evaluation of the APP approach on a group of anxious primary school pupils. Forty subjects from the primary school population of Potchefstroom were identified as anxious by the teaching staff. From this target group pupils were assigned to three groups: 10 pupils who completed an APP programme; 9 pupils who were subjected to an alternative therapy programme; and a non-intervention control group of 10 pupils. Control measures included determining pre-treatment group equivalence, controlling the integrity of both treatment programmes, and controlling the effect of therapist competence. The results confirmed significant positive changes following both programmes, but no change in the control group. On a number of variables the APP group achieved significantly better results than the alternative therapy group, especially with regard to hearing and listening. A follow-up study confirmed the long-term effect of the intervention.

Teachers’ recognition of the pupils’ creative potential is far from easy because of the complexity, ambiguity and multifaceted quality of the phenomenon of creativity. The activity of diagnosing pupils’ creative attitude calls for identifying the structure of their creative behaviour. Analysis of the data obtained in the study helped determine the level of the creative attitude of the pupils taking part in the study on the scale of heuristic and non-conformist behaviours.
