At the beginning of the fourth century the Roman aristocracy was, for the most part, pagan in its religious attitude. By the end of that century the aristocracy had undergone what Peter Brown has described as a “sea change”: its pagan values had become redefined within the context of Christianity. This “drift into respectable Christianity” was the result of the process of socialization in the households of the Roman senatorial class over several generations. Brown suggests that the fourth-century Christianization of the aristocracy was the achievement of those upper-class Roman women who, by continuing to practice their Christian religion in the households of their pagan husbands, established the syncretistic milieu which would influence the religious attitudes of the next generation. But the apparent calm of Brown's anonymous culture-bearers is disturbed by a small group of women whose religious extremism delineates them sharply from their peers. Rejecting wholly the society into which they were born, they fled the cloying Roman atmosphere for the harsh air of the desert. The “respectable Christianity” that Rome was adopting offered them no satisfaction.

The study aimed to translate the Religious Attitude Scale (RAS; Onay, 2000) into Urdu language and established its construct validity in Pakistani culture. Moreover, the relationship of different demographic variables (i.e., age, income, gender, family system) with religious attitude of parents was also explored. The study comprised of two phases: Phase I of the study constituted translation of the original English version of RAS into Urdu language using forward and back translation method. In phase II, the construct validity of RAS was established through Exploratory Factor Analysis and psychometric properties of RAS were determined. A sample (N = 264) of parents comprising mothers (n = 133) and fathers (n = 131) with age range of 26 to 52 years (M = 34.74, SD = 6.0) participated in the study. Results showed that RAS has two factors namely Positive Religious Attitudes and Negative Religious Attitudes. Psychometric properties of the scale were satisfactory. Findings showed that religious attitudes had positive relationship with age; while, were negatively associated with income. Findings revealed nonsignificant differences across gender of the parents on religious attitudes; whereas, individuals belonging to nuclear families had significantly lower religious attitudes than those from joint family system. Future implications were also discussed.

The chapter describes the small groups formed from Ellington’s orchestra. Hodges did not have a hit under his own name until Ellington was persuaded by Helen Oakley, a young jazz promoter and publicist, that he could release records by subgroups of his orchestra without tarnishing his own reputation. Hodges hit it big with “Jeep’s Blues,” which rang out from jukeboxes all over Harlem. Some of Hodges’s small-group numbers, including “The Jeep Is Jumping” and “Good Queen Bess,” named after his mother, are among his most memorable. The small-group sessions followed a pattern: a slow blues tune, two pop ballads, and a mid-tempo dance tune. They also kept Hodges connected to his roots in the blues and the black community from which he sprang, at a time when Ellington’s music was increasingly viewed as entertainment for whites and upper-class blacks.

Teacher professionalism is something that cannot be negotiated, including for a fiqh teacher. Because the professionalism of a teacher plays a very dominant role, even though the sophistication of technology is very, very impressive. There are still too many human elements such as attitudes, value systems, feelings, motivation, habits, etc. which are expected to be the result of the learning process. A good religious attitude is one of the hopes that results from a fiqh study. And only fiqh learning managed by a professional fiqh teacher has implications for the formation of students' religious attitudes. Professional fiqh teachers are able to create a dynamic and democratic learning atmosphere, and will have implications for students' religious attitudes in the form of; first, the students will understand what they do and at the same time understand what other people who are different from it have been practicing, Second, the level of student obedience in carrying out religious rites is getting better, Third, the more students have more confidence in the truth of their religion, Fourth, the students' commitment to godliness is getting better. good, and Fifth, embedded tolerance towards all differences.

Tripolar typology is one of the approaches to theology of religions that was popularized by Alan Race. This typology is used as a standard in theological studies of religions, and is still widely used in the theological discourse of religions. Tripolar typology used to map various approaches theologians and  theologians non-Christian on the relation of Christianity with religions. other  This mapping is based on the similarities and differences in their perspective on other religions outside Christianity. The three typologies are exclusivism, inclusivism and pluralism.Komarudin Hidayat stated that there are five typologies of religious attitudes, namely "exclusivism, inclusivism, pluralism, eclecivism, and universalism". These five typologies do not mean that each is separated and disconnected from the other nor permanent, but rather it is said to be a prominent trend, considering that every religion or religious attitude always has the potential to produce the five attitudes above. Even though there are differences in theological types of religion with other religious scholars, such as Panikkar, who mentions three typologies: exclusive, inclusive, and parallelism, essentially the typological mentions contain the same meaning and meaning. Therefore, we will discuss the typologies of religion.
