Some differences in territorial organization between Serbian and EU countries are obvious. The level of centralization and tradition in systems for implementation of ideas are differently back- grounded. However, these are the most important facts for the opportunity to realize Learning Region as a concept of the European future. There is no part of space that should be considered as unchangeable and the way to a better position and Learning Region concept implementation of each region in Serbia in practice should lead towards few necessary steps and further. The starting point is awareness of the facts on the creation of Subotica region as it is at present. The healthy future of each region is provided by looking back in the past and learning from the history. The other important thing is bench marking- learning on the positive and successful experiences of other regions, and finally, making its own concept of Learning Region adapted to local surrounding and true need of local people. Some experiences, suggestions and comparisons will be made in this case study, in relation to one of the Serbian municipalities nearest t to EU neighboring countries in a territorial way. .

Java Island is one of the areas that is very fertile and densely populated, but on the other hand, Java Island is also one of the areas that is most frequently hit by natural disasters, one of which is Klaten Regency. Natural disaster itself is an event that threatens and disrupts human life caused by nature. Some of the natural disasters that often occur simultaneously in Klaten Regency are floods, landslides, and hurricanes. These three disasters usually occur during the rainy season. This of course makes the government need to take action by seeing the large chance of a disaster occurring in order to optimize disaster management. Then research will be carried out that aims to determine the chances of natural disasters occurring in the next few years. Forecasting will be carried out using the Markov chain method, with this method the probability value of the future period can be estimated using the current period probability value based on the characteristics of the past period. So that the value of the steady state chance of floods and landslides in period 36 (December 2023) and hurricanes in period 15 (March 2022) with the chances of a disaster are 34.21%, 15.38%, and 73.53%, respectively.Received August 31, 2021Revised October 27, 2021Accepted November 11, 2021

In this research, the writer was aimed to find out the types of code switching that used by English teacher based on gender inequality and the reasons of using code switching that used by English teacher based on gender inequality. The writer was conducted case study in qualitative method. In collecting the data, the writer used observation by using video recording and interview. The result of the research shows that the writer found three types from each teacher based on gender inequality by observation. The types are inter-sentential, intra-sentential and tag switching. In the other hand, each types that used by English teacher based on gender inequality was made in number percentages, for female English teacher are inter sentential code switching 54%, intra sentential code switching 38% and tag switching 8%. Moreover, for male English teacher are inter sentential code switching 42%, intra sentential code switching 41% and tag switching 18%. In the other words, interview was used to find out the reasons that used by English teacher based on gender inequality. The reasons are talking about particular topic, repetition, Interjection and Raising status.

Abstract The starting point of this paper is a claim defended most famously by Graham Priest: that given certain observed similarities between the set-theoretic and the semantic paradoxes, we should be looking for a ‘uniform solution’ to the members of both families. Despite its indisputable surface attractiveness, I argue that this claim hinges on a problematic reasoning move. This is seen most clearly, I suggest, when the claim and its underlying assumptions are examined by the lights of a novel, quite general and, I contend, promising take on inter-theoretic analogy. The ensuing discussion is intended to serve as both a possible case study and a first step towards the broader aim of the paper: namely, to initiate a wider conversation on the methodology of paradox-solving on the one hand, and the use of inter-theoretic analogies on the other.


A Conference of Fellows was held in the rooms of the Royal Society on 10 May 1945 to discuss certain questions arising from the Report on the Needs of Research in Fundamental Science, particularly in relation to ‘ rare subjects ’ in the universities. As a result of this meeting, a memorandum was drawn up by Professor A. V. Hill, then Biological Secretary. This memorandum, slightly abridged, was in the following terms: Under existing conditions there are various subjects of study for which little or no provision is made in any of the universities of the United Kingdom. There are sub/branches of subjects the study of which might be held to fall within the duties of some existing depart' ment but which, in fact, have been almost neglected. O n the other hand, there are subjects for which too widespread provision has been made in the past or for which too great a dispersion of effort has proved unhealthy. Certain subjects do not need to be studied at a higher level in more than a few places. A t Sir Charles Darwin’s suggestion to the Secretaries, a Conference was called at the Royal Society on 10 May to consider the general problem. Seventeen Fellows were present. A t this Conference it was decided to ask the Council of the Royal Society to invite the co-operation of the Sectional Committees, and of the newly formed Standing Committee on Agricultural Science, to explore it further.

The writer is interested in investigating the error analysis in using past tense in writing recount text a case study at the second year students of Madrasah Tsanawiyah Darul Ishlah Ireng Lauq at the academic year 2013/2014. The problem of the present study is limited in on the use of past tense in writing recount text. On the other hand, the general objective of the writing is to analyze the use of past tense in writing recount text. The specific objective is to know the students ability in using the past tense especially in writing recount text.The population of the study includes all students who have been studying at the second year of Madrasah Tsanawiyah Darul Ishlah Ireng Lauq at the academic year 2013/2014.The instrument of data collection is only one test. The test type/ part namely slot test. The test is confined to use the simple past tense. The data is analyzed by descriptive quantitative method. From the result of this analyze, the writer concludes the second year of the students of Madrasah Tsanawiyah Darul Ishlah Ireng Lauq at the academic year 2013/ 2014 has difficulty in identifying the past tense. This analyze shown that they make errors in using auxiliary did, errors in using verbs and other errors. Finally not only auxiliary did or verb as the specific study had most errors but also another errors appear without they realize, it happened because the lack of mastery in structure of past tense one of the tense in English.

Karl Popper rightly says that “real starting point for each research is set based on assumptions of reality, not only based on the real facts”. The text below was prepared In accordance with this logic, where the Theories of International Development are treated especially focusing on International Economic Development. Therefore, theoretical reflections present assumption side, and study of many empirically measured data will correspond with real facts, because with ought these facts assumption would be useless.Technically this writing consists of two parts: in the first part are elaborated all theoretical and practical characteristics of overall international development, while in a second part as a case study will be Economic Development i Kosovo. From methodological point of view this is a comparative study and based on statistical data, while problem treating approach is critical and explanatory.As it will be understood later, development theories have been decisively influenced by economic thinking, and the focus on this dimension responds best to the nature of the term development. On the other hand the fact of unfolding economical development will reflect interference and the nature of it’s inter politics.Today economic development becomes a worldwide goal, having a considerable place in most of the literature with economic content. Also, here are presented as well examples from different practices that reflect economic development in different periods and places. Here is presented international economic development starting with a brief description of a genealogy of this development and ways of economic development back that time. It is of a special importance elaboration through theoretical approach on the creation of capital and economic development, as  mercantilist theory, classic and neo classic theory, than capitalization and Socialism-Marxism.To better understand the nature of economic development, the focus falls on the appearance of the Third Technological Revolution and its role in the world, contemporary economy and as well appearance of the development problems and a need for different theoretical approach.As a separate part is presented international development and its measurement, the one that marks empty topic of analyses. Then, an important reflection on economic growth or economic development provides both multinational corporations and foreign investments, as mechanism of money. Hence, elaboration of these topics has a considerable place within this text linked to their role in the development or exploitation in different regions or countries. On the other hand, another alternative of Development Theories are presented “Theories of Addiction” which will be understood best after giving a broader explanation on economic development or non-development. This set overview will give legitimate basis or will expose more to criticism.

The objective of this research was to investigate the perception of 424 children and teenagers about the programs they watch on tv, and what kind of programs they would produce if they had a camera on their hands. The data collection was made in 12 schools of Distrito Federal, attended by students who belong to medium and lower income classes. A questionnaire was presented to the students, who were asked to elaborate individually some audiovisual instructions with drawings (storyboard). The starting point to the elaboration of the instructions by the kids and teens was the question: What tv program would you make if you had a camera on your hands? This paper presents the analysis of the answers of the children and teenagers about the question above, as well as the other questions in the questionnaire, so that it was possible to observe which kind of relation they have with the television and which tv storyboards they would like to watch in the open channels. Hoje opçõesculturais e de lazer como TV a cabo, internet, games, dvds e conquistam crianças e adolescentese limitam a audiência de programas em TV aberta.No Brasil, essas mídias são acessíveis apenasàsclasses média e média alta. Para a maioria das crianças e adolescentes brasileiros, o acesso à diversão e à informação midiáticas restringe-se à televisão aberta. A qualidade dessa programação gratuita e a quantidade de horas diárias que o público infanto-juvenil se dedica a consumi-la têm preocupado educadores, pais, pesquisadores e até autoridades governamentais. Há um debate nacional sobre regulação e responsabilidade social das emissoras de TV. Esta pesquisa indaga crianças e adolescentes sobre o quepensam daprogramação da TV abertao que gostam e não gostam, o que propõem. Espera contribuir para reflexão sobre inovação de produção televisiva atenta às diferenciações sociais e culturais e ao desejo de crianças e adolescentes de divertir e de aprender mais sobre si e seu mundo. Situa na perspectiva desses sujeitos consumidores e cidadãos, que passam várias horas diante da TV, têm diferentes modos de ver, constroem representações, mundos imaginários. O objetivo desta pesquisa foi investigar as percepções de (250) crianças e adolescentes sobre a programação que assistem e sobre o que produziriam para TV se tivessem uma câmara na mão. O estudo partiu do princípio de que os sujeitos pesquisados conheciam a programação e a linguagem da TV, além de levar em consideração que a escola seria um espaço de re-elaboração de experiências midiáticas. A coleta dos dados foi realizada em 7 (sete) escolas públicas do Distrito Federal freqüentadas por estudantes de médio e baixo poder aquisitivo. Um questionário foi aplicado aos estudantes que também foram solicitados a elaborar individualmente um roteiro audiovisual com desenhos (tipo storyboard). A aplicação desses instrumentos de pesquisa ocorreu como uma atividade curricular de reflexão e discussão sobre televisão. O ponto de partida para a elaboração do roteiro pelas crianças e adolescentes foi a questão: Que programa de TV fariam se tivessem uma câmara na mão? Este trabalho apresenta as análises das respostas das crianças e adolescentes a essa questão, bem como às outras perguntas do questionário o que permitiu observar qual a relação que eles mantém com a televisão e quais roteiros de programas de TV que eles gostariam de ver em exibição nos canais abertos.

<p class="3">Over the past decade, great progress has been made in improving the quality and availability of Open Educational Resources (OER). OER proponents often discuss the ability for users to revise and remix OER to make them more suitable for local contexts; however, much OER goes unmodified. This note from the field examines the efforts of NetEase Online Open Courses, a Chinese organization, to take more than two thousand Khan Academy videos and translate them into Chinese. We provide background on this initiative and also analyze site metrics to determine what type of use these derivative OER have received.</p>

Abstract Provision of spaces for personal prayer and reflection has become a common phenomenon within historic churches and cathedrals in England and Wales, offering an example of devotional activity that operates largely outside that of traditional gathered congregations, but also in relationship with them. Over the past decade, the apSAFIP (the ap Siôn Analytic Framework for Intercessory Prayer) has been employed to examine the content of personal prayer requests left in various church-related locations, mapping similarities and differences in pray-ers’ concerns. Building on this research tradition, the present study examines whether changes to physical environment in an Anglican cathedral in Wales has an effect on the personal prayer activity occurring within it, with a particular focus on intercessory prayer requests.

Between traditional and contemporary there are two contradictory visions. The first adopts originality and returning to the traditional, while the second advocates modernity and liberation from the old. The present paper discusses how to benefit from the present facilities without losing features of the past when developing new neighbour-hoods. Al-Dira', a traditional quarter in Al-Jouf, Saudi Arabia, is elected as a case study within which the housing unit and the urban pattern are analysed. Visual documentation, surveying, mapping, and interviews constitute essential tools to get an insight on the traditional planning and design process. On the other side, Al-Rabwa, a typical contemporary officially planned district, is investigated. It is concluded that the need for modernization should be balanced with originality. Understanding forces that shaped traditional quarters and are still embedded in the community offers a stream of information that can be utilized in contemporary development. A responsive development needs to consider local identity while formulating compact low rise buildings with courtyards and carefully positioned openings, small scale open space system, straight roads for cars and protected walkways for pedestrians, well distributed parking lots, and integrated relationship between housing, mosque and market.
