The materials based on BaTiO3 can be controlled using different technological parameters and different additives. The influence of different temperature levels of sintering (1320?C, 1350?C and 1380?C) on the size of contact area for 0.1% Ho2O3 doped BaTiO3-ceramics has been investigated. Microstructural investigations were carried out using scanning electron microscopy (JEOL-JSM 5300) equipped with EDS (QX 2000S) system. Grain size distribution was determined by quantitative metallography method. The new correlation between microstructure and dielectric properties of doped BaTiO3-ceramics based on fractal geometry and contact surface probability is recently developed. The presented results indicate that statistical model of contact surfaces is important for the prognosis of BaTiO3-ceramics microstructure and dielectric properties.

AbstractThe present work shows the effect of temperature on successfully obtained uniform electrospun poly-(ε-caprolactone) (PCL) fibers, with specific attention to the molecular orientation and diameter of nanofibers. Experiments were performed at temperatures (T) of 25°, 35°, and 45°C, and at PCL concentrations (w) of 12, 16, and 20 wt.%. Scanning electron microscopy provided the morphology of electrospun fibers and quantified their diameters. Elevated temperature for all PCL concentrations yielded a viscosity that allows for easier stretching of the jet to obtain a smaller diameter for fibers. A minimum size of the fiber diameter (close to 100 nm) was achieved for the set point T=45°C and w=12 and 16 wt.%. Due to the easy stretching of the jet by controlling the elastic property of the solution, a dichroic ratio of 1.62 was accessible for the set point T=35°C and w=12 wt.% from polarized Fourier transform infrared spectra as a factor for the orientation of PCL chains.

Tchoukoutou is a local alcoholic drink made from sorghum. The optimization and good quality of this drink depend on certain factors such as temperature that were the subject of our work. To carry out this study, we have set ourselves the general objective of structuring the production of Tchoukoutou. Specifically, the study aims to systematize the cooking of the wort, to verify the properties of the beer through tests and to produce a quality drink. An investigation was made on the influence of temperature on sorghum germination and wort cooking. The study of the effect of temperature on the germination of sorghum was carried out. It concerned four different temperature levels which are: 23 ° C, 26 ° C, 30 ° C and 35 ° C. A study of the influence of temperature on brewing was done with different varieties of sorghum and also at different temperature ranges: 78 ° C, 83 ° C, 89 ° C, and 92 ° C. The results showed that the ideal germination temperature is 30 ° C and for brewing it is 78 ° C. The soaking time during germination, for a good germination rate, is between 16h and 26h. In conclusion, the temperature factor is a parameter that should not be overlooked when making Tchoukoutou. Our study thus made will serve as a basis for subsequent studies in the same direction to achieve a standardized industrial production of Tchoukoutou.

There exists in planarians a time-graded regeneration field for head regeneration (Brøndsted, 1946, 1956; A. & H. V. Brøndsted, 1952). The characteristics of this field, expressed by rate of regeneration, are species-specific. The existence of this field ensures harmonious regeneration from cuts everywhere in the body, as a cut will always expose a ‘high point’ where regeneration of a head starts with greatest speed, thus taking the lead in organization and at the same time inhibiting head-forming tendencies elsewhere in the blastema (Brøndsted, 1956). The factors underlying these characteristics of the field are unknown; the problems involved are being attacked from several angles in our laboratory. For the sake of this work it is of some interest to know how the different rates of regeneration at various levels in the time-graded fields might be influenced by various temperature levels. Material and Methods The experiments were carried out on two species differing greatly in the characteristics of their time-graded regeneration fields.

The FeS solid lubricating coatings were prepared on the AISI 5140 steel by chemical bath deposition (CBD) coating technique at various temperatures from 30 to 90 °C. The influence of temperature on microstructure, microcracks, and tribological properties was characterized and studied by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM), and energy dispersive spectrometry (EDS). The results show that the coating mainly consists of FexSy (FeS, FeS2, and Fe1−xS), and has a chrysanthemum-shaped (CS) morphology composed of the FeS crystal petals. The CS particles nucleate at about 30 °C, rapidly grow and reach a peak thickness at about 50–70 °C, and finally disappear and are replaced by disordered thick petals at 90 °C. The wear resistance of the steel was improved obviously after introducing of FeS coatings, owing to that the coatings can provide better lubrication and improve the wear resistance.

The present work reports the results of structural and optical investigations in samples of natural dolomite, subjected to thermal treatment at different temperatures (500 ℃ to 700 ℃) and times (one up to three hours). The motivation is the evaluation of the changes that may occur in carbonaceous asteroids and meteorites, respectively, subjected to the action of the solar radiation and heated during the fall in the atmosphere. We carried out scanning electron microscopy, electron dispersive spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, optical reflectance and photoluminescence measurements
