Obtaining new materials including sintered electronic materials using different procedures is the consequence of long complex and expensive experimental work. However, the dynamics of expansive development of electronic devices requires fast development of new materials, especially sintered oxide materials. The recent rapid development of electronics is among other things due to development and improvement of new components based on titanate ceramics. Research in this work has included an experimental study of the synthesis of dielectric ceramics in the system MgCO3 - TiO2. Starting powders were mechanically activated by milling in a high energy planetary mill for different times. Samples were prepared for isothermal sintering at 1100?C by dual pressing of powders into cylindrical samples in a hydraulic press.

AbstractThe diffusion properties of a Ni-Zr metallic glass formed at the interface of a bulk diffusion couple have been studied in conditions far from a fully relaxed state. The growth kinetics of the interface film have been enhanced by both plastic deformation and high energy electron irradiation. Different results have been obtained in the two cases, since in the first case the film grows exponentially with time, while in the second case the usual square root dependence on time is observed. This behaviour has been interpreted as a consequence of the annihilation kinetics of the excess free volume introduced in the glass by the above methods. Two different mechanisms of free volume annihilation , namely exchange with a crystal vacancy at the glass-crystal interface and structural relaxation in the bulk glassy phase have been considered to be operative so that the nature of the growth kinetics has been found to depend on the mechanism predominant in each experimental condition.

In this work, a blend of Ti, Nb, and Mn powders, with a nominal composition of 15 wt.% of Mn, and balanced Ti and Nb wt.%, was selected to be mechanically alloyed by the following two alternative high-energy milling devices: a vibratory 8000D mixer/mill® and a PM400 Retsch® planetary ball mill. Two ball-to-powder ratio (BPR) conditions (10:1 and 20:1) were applied, to study the evolution of the synthesized phases under each of the two mechanical alloying conditions. The main findings observed include the following: (1) the sequence conversion evolved from raw elements to a transitory bcc-TiNbMn alloy, and subsequently to an fcc-TiNb15Mn alloy, independent of the milling conditions; (2) the total full conversion to the fcc-TiNb15Mn alloy was only reached by the planetary mill at a minimum of 12 h of milling time, for either of the BPR employed; (3) the planetary mill produced a non-negligible Fe contamination from the milling media, when the highest BPR and milling time were applied; and (4) the final fcc-TiNb15Mn alloy synthesized presents a nanocrystalline nature and a partial degree of amorphization.

The paper presents the results of a computational study of the influence of the geometry of the working chamber on the energy-force interaction of grinding bodies in the process of the mixture processing in a planetary mill. The method of computer simulation, using the software system, based on the ideology of discrete elements, shows the high efficiency of processing in a planetary mill, using a working chamber with a square-shaped cavity. The values of the factors that have a dominant influence on the mechanical processing of the charge are determined. A comparison with the process of processing in the working chamber of the traditional cylindrical shape is made. The research results will be used in the appointment of large-size charge processing regimes that provide a high-energy grinding process.

The rapid development of Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) is remarkable. However, IoMT faces many problems including privacy disclosure, long delay of service orders, low retrieval efficiency of medical data, and high energy cost of fog computing. For these, this paper proposes a data privacy protection and efficient retrieval scheme for IoMT based on low-cost fog computing. First, a fog computing system is located between a cloud server and medical workers, for processing data retrieval requests of medical workers and orders for controlling medical devices. Simultaneously, it preprocesses physiological data of patients uploaded by IoMT, collates them into various data sets, and transmits them to medical institutions in this way. It makes the entire execution process of low latency and efficient. Second, multidimensional physiological data are of great value, and we use ciphertext retrieval to protect privacy of patient data in this paper. In addition, this paper uses range tree to build an index for storing physiological data vectors, and meanwhile a range retrieval method is also proposed to improve data search efficiency. Finally, bat algorithm (BA) is designed to allocate cost on a fog server group for significant energy cost reduction. Extensive experiments are conducted to demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed scheme.

In this study, changes in physicochemical properties and leachability of indium from mechanically activated hard zinc residue by planetary mill were investigated. The results showed that mechanical activation increased specific surface area, reaction activity of hard zinc residue, and decreased its particle size, which had a positive effect on indium extraction from hard zinc residue in hydrochloric acid solution. Kinetics of indium leaching from unmilled and activated hard zinc residue were also investigated, respectively. It was found that temperature had an obvious effect on indium leaching rate. Two different kinetic models corresponding to reactions which are diffusion controlled, [1-(1- x)1/3]2=kt and (1-2x/3)-(1-x)2/3=kt were used to describe the kinetics of indium leaching from unmilled sample and activated sample, respectively. Their activation energies were determined to be 17.89 kJ/mol (umilled) and 11.65 kJ/mol (activated) within the temperature range of 30?C to 90?C, which is characteristic for a diffusion controlled process. The values of activation energy demonstrated that the leaching reaction of indium became less sensitive to temperature after hard zinc residue mechanically activated by planetary mill.

Recent years have witnessed the fast development of the emerging topic of Graph Learning based Recommender Systems (GLRS). GLRS mainly employ advanced graph learning approaches to model users’ preferences and intentions as well as items’ characteristics and popularity for Recommender Systems (RS). Differently from other approaches, including content based filtering and collaborative filtering, GLRS are built on graphs where the important objects, e.g., users, items, and attributes, are either explicitly or implicitly connected. With the rapid development of graph learning techniques, exploring and exploiting homogeneous or heterogeneous relations in graphs is a promising direction for building more effective RS. In this paper, we provide a systematic review of GLRS, by discussing how they extract knowledge from graphs to improve the accuracy, reliability and explainability of the recommendations. First, we characterize and formalize GLRS, and then summarize and categorize the key challenges and main progress in this novel research area.
