This reflection is based on the notes recorded in a field journal and its objective is to systematize the experience acquired as an educator in the Diagnostic and Derivation Center, operated by the University of Antioquia through the Grow with Dignity Project (Zuluaga, 2015-2016), attached to the Unit of Childhood, in the City of Medellín, Colombia, whose purpose is the immediate protection of children and adolescents in situations of violation of rights. We will analyze, here, the power relations that are established within the adult-centered paradigm; we will reveal the genesis of child abuse in these relations, and we will see how these normalized practices in the upbringing of children by their families of origin permeate the protection institutions that have been created to accomplish processes of restoration of rights. When unequal power relationships are instituted and legitimated within the family, the hegemony of adults over childhood is consolidated, and the latter ends up being objectified, like this normalizing their abuse. These relational paradigms are also susceptible to reproduction in educational institutions, including those aimed at the protection of children in situations of violation of rights. We will suggest a proposal called humanized reeducation, which is indicated for group leadership in protection institutions, a task entrusted to educators.

This chapter details Ernst Kantorowicz's life in Frankfurt. He moved to the city on the first day of April 1931 to assume his new duties as a history professor at the university. During his first semester he offered a two-hour seminar in medieval history for beginners and gave an inaugural public lecture on “The Problem of Nobility in the Later Middle Ages.” In the winter of 1931–32, he offered a lecture course on The Age of Humanism. This was a subject that had become of interest to him in connection with a new interest in Petrarch, who wrote on nobility and had been crowned with laurel. He also struggled with the realization that his financial position was collapsing.

1519 was a special year for the city of Poznań, owing to the foundation of a new school, the Lubrański Academy. It was the first school of humanities in Poland to follow the best models of Renaissance education and employed illustrious teachers like Krzysztof Hegendorfer and Benedykt Herbest. In the 16th century, the Academy was considered a rival of Krakow University; ultimately in the early 17th century, the Academy was affiliated with the University. As a result of the affiliation, the Poznań school enjoyed stability, a group of experienced teachers and a curriculum recognized by the society. The curriculum stood out in Poland by its inclusion of practical preparation for performing various political functions, especially in the field of law, and, as in other educational institutions, by preparing young people for cultural life in the country. Its relations with Krakow University also had drawbacks: during the Enlightenment reforms of the education system, the Lubrański Academy adopted a conservative and reactionary position. Despite this, the authorities managed to introduce several modern solutions, especially in the realm of teaching modern foreign languages.

Students’ academic performance in the university environment changes from one academic year to another as they climb up the ladder of their academic programme. Predicting students’ academic performance in higher educational institutions is challenging due to the lack of a central database of students’ performance records. The other challenge is the lack of standard methods for predicting students’ performance and other moderating factors like physical, economic and health that affect students’ progress. In this work, we predicted students’ performance based on previous academic results. A model to predict students’ performance based on their Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) was developed using Linear Regression Algorithm. A dataset of 70 undergraduate students studying Computer Science was analyzed and the results show that the model was able to predict the 4th year CGPA of the Students using the previous Cumulative Grade Point of the past three years with an accuracy of 87.84%, and a correlation of 0.9338. This study also identified students’ second semester CGPA in the first year and their first semester CGPA in the second year as the most important CGPAs that affect the accuracy

Encouragement of creative ability in some educational institutions of Medellin, Colombia. Abstract The article presents partial results of a research aimed to explore the status of the promotion of creativity in a sample of schools in Medellin, Colombia, contrasting the contents of their pedagogical models in relation to creativity and their respective development from teaching with the conceptions about creativity that teachers in the basic primary of these schools and their performances in classrooms in respect of the promotion of creativity. The study was conducted using a mixed methodology, phenomenological approach and descriptive level. For the choice of the sample used the criterion of the pedagogical models employed by schools, as well as public and private institutions are included. The results showed that none of the schools studied creativity and pedagogic and didactic strategies for its promotion from the teaching practices are sufficiently addressed, nor nor creativity is established as a goal of institutional education. Also, showed that representations that handle the teachers about creativity and their own creative approach to teaching is an important factor for the development of creative ability in students. At a general it was observed that teachers pay more attention to the emotional-motivational aspects of the creative capacity that to the cognitive aspects. Key words: creativity, pedagogical model, teaching practice.

Introduction. The important factors affecting health and performance of young people are the conditions of education, in particular, a comfortable microclimate in the classrooms of higher educational institutions. Materials and methods. In view of the urgency of this problem, an analysis was made of the microclimate parameters of educational organizations of different profiles (Ufa city, the Republic of Bashkortostan). 294 classrooms were studied in 22 buildings of 4 leading universities in Ufa. A total of 3,822 measurements were taken to determine the parameters of the microclimate. The analysis of ionizing radiation in the aerial environment of classrooms. There was performed determination of radon and its affiliated products content. In order to assess the conditions and lifestyle of students of 4 higher educational institutions of the city of Ufa, we conducted an anonymous survey of 1,820 students of I and IV years of education. Results. The average temperature in the classrooms of all universities studied was 23.9±0.09 C. The average relative humidity in all classrooms was 34.2 ± 0.42%. Analysis of ionizing radiation (radon and its daughter products decay) in the aerial environment of the classrooms and sports halls located in the basement determined that the average annual equivalent equilibrium volumetric activity of the radon daughter products (EROA ± Δ222Rn) ranged from 28 ± 14 to 69 ± 34.5 meter, which meets the requirements established by SanPiN. Conclusion. The hygienic assessment of the microclimate parameters of educational institutions of various profile revealed a number of deviations from the regulated norms. The results indicate the need to control the parameters of the microclimate, both from the administration of universities, and from the professors. According to the results of the study, recommendations were prepared for the management of higher educational institutions in Ufa.

The application of constructive geometric modeling to pedagogical models of teaching graphic disciplines today is a promising direction for using computer technology in the educational process of educational institutions. The essence of the method of constructive geometric modeling is to represent any operation performed on geometric objects in the form of a transformation, as a result of which some constructive connection is established, and the transformation itself can be considered as a result of the action of an abstract cybernetic device. Constructive geometric modeling is a popular information tool for information processing in various applied areas, however, this tool cannot be appreciated without the presence of appropriate software systems and developed design techniques. Traditionally, constructive geometric modeling is used in the design of mechanical engineering, energy, aircraft and shipbuilding facilities, in architectural and design engineering. The need to study descriptive geometry at the university in recent years has something in common with the issues of mastering graphic packages of computer programs in the framework of the new discipline "Engineering and Computer Graphics". The well-known KOMPAS software product is considered the simplest and most attractive for training. It should be noted the important role of graphic packages in the teaching of geometric disciplines that require a figurative perception of the material by students. Against the background of a reduction in classroom hours, computer graphics packages are practically the only productive teaching methodology, successfully replacing traditional tools - chalk and blackboard.
