ABSTRACT This article outlines the role of rural women in diversification of local foods in Indonesia, specifically cassava. Cassava is the third main staple food in Indonesia, after rice and corn. By referring to the concept of food security and food diversification, and using the case study method, this article describes and discusses rural women’s innovations and business initiatives in developing nutritious processed cassava products in Gunungkidul Regency. These products are available at various outlets and are accessible and affordable to the public. Rural women have become the main actors in the diversification of local foods while also playing an important role in creating food security that has become a strategic agenda in Indonesia.

Universitas Ahmad Dahlan (UAD) have formed the public relations as liaison tooutsiders (spokesman). With the UAD’s Public Relations, expected various publicinterest and the interests of the organization can run together. Programs and strategyhas been conducted by UAD’s Public Relations to have good relations with stakeholdersof UAD. This research own, intended to see how the role of public relations UAD tobolster loyalty of stakeholders. By using the case study method, with data collectionmethod using focus group disscussion, it is hoped the result of research is could becomebasic to improving UAD’s Public Relations. This research result indicates that publicrelations are expected to draw up strategies appropriate to enhance loyalty stakeholders,both in terms of the management of its own organization, communication pattern, andmanagement of media connection.AbstrakUniversitas Ahmad Dahlan (UAD) telah membentuk bidang kehumasan sebagaipenghubung dengan pihak luar (juru bicara). Dengan adanya Humas UAD tersebut,diharapkan berbagai kepentingan publik dan kepentingan organisasi dapat berjalanbersama. Berbagai program maupun strategi telah dilakukan oleh Humas UAD untukmenjalin hubungan baik dengan pihak-pihak (stakeholders) UAD. Penelitian ini sendiri,dimaksudkan untuk mengetahui bagaimana peran humas UAD guna meningkatkanloyalitas dari stakeholders. Dengan menggunakan metode studi kasus, dengan metodepengumpulan data dengan menggunakan focus group disscussion, diharapkan hasildari penelitian ini dapat dijadikan acuan untuk perbaikan kinerja humas UAD itusendiri. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa humas diharapkan mampu menyusunstrategi-strategi yang tepat untuk dalam meningkatkan loyalitas stakeholders, baikdari segi pengelolaan organisasi sendiri, komunikasi yang dijalankan, dan pengelolaanmedia komunikasinya.

Purpose When catastrophic disasters recently occurred, digital volunteer networks formed by the public emerged across the globe. They aggregated, analyzed and visualized disaster data. Those volunteer networks sometimes shared their data with formal response organizations. Such data sharing and integration increased the capacity of formal response organizations for dealing with disasters. However, despite the emergence and contributions of digital volunteer networks, the literature has been focused primarily on the role of formal response organizations such as emergency management agencies and the Red Cross. The purpose of this paper is to describe how technical and organizational factors influence collaboration between digital volunteer networks and formal response organizations. Design/methodology/approach This research employs a case study method, focusing on the 2015 Nepal earthquake. Findings This study found that information technology and a shared understanding of disaster situations and how to address disasters are key determinants of collaboration between digital volunteer networks and formal response organizations. Originality/value This research is expected to contribute to building an integrated emergency response system in the information age.

AbstractThis article looks at the public disclosure of political donations as a case study to examine the role of transparency in addressing concerns about undue influence and corruption. The article will explore three issues. The first is to understand what it means to say that a political donation is corrupt. There is considerable disagreement on the ethics of political fundraising and this article will show how public opinion has a role in setting the standards expected of politicians. The second issue is what role the public disclosure of political donations plays in deterring and detecting corruption. While the disclosure requirements were introduced to promote greater trust in politics, it will be argued that increases in transparency have fed a growing culture of mistrust. The logic of the transparency requirements also requires the free public discussion of particular political donations and related ethical issues. The third issue is how that process of free discussion can come into tension with rights to privacy and reputation. The article will explore how the attempts to reconcile the different areas of law both reflect and shape the political culture.

PurposeThis case study aims to understand the experience of care from a patient/carer perspective and to describe how the method can be replicated to address gaps in evidence relating to integrated person-centred care.Design/methodology/approachThe case study was constructed using data extracted from personal diaries and medical records kept by a person with a complex condition, correspondence with family from the last 18 months of life and interviews with the carer and long-term conditions coordinator. The number of professionals or teams involved in providing care from statutory services, the third sector, and private providers were counted to understand the ecosystem of care. The number of contacts was plotted by provider and purpose of care. The type of care and hours of respite were estimated. A protocol was developed to assess the feasibility of replicating the data and analyses used.FindingsThere were 35 care providers from the public, private and the third sector, demonstrating that only the patient or carer can identify the ecosystem of care. The majority of care was for respite and on average, the carer provided four hours of care per every respite care hour. The method was replicated successfully.Research limitations/implicationsThe case study formed the basis of a workshop that brought together health care professionals from the public services and the third sector. The discussion led to the identification of gaps and areas where greater coordination between providers would benefit patients.Originality/valueThe case study method combines contemporaneous patient and carer sources of data and health service activity to create a detailed account of care at the end of life. The approach addresses gaps in person-centred evidence for the development and evaluation of integrated palliative and end-of-life care.

AbstractOrganisations are important gatekeepers in the labour market inclusion of immigrants and their children. Research has regularly documented ethnic discrimination in hiring decisions. Aiming to further our understanding of the role of organisations in influencing the professional trajectories of individuals of immigrant origin, this paper investigates the recruitment practices of public administrations. Drawing on approaches from organisational sociology and a qualitative case study of public administrations in the German state of Berlin, the article identifies three crucial elements of organisational decision-making affecting the recruitment of staff of immigrant origin: decisions regarding advertisement strategies, formal criteria, and individual candidates. Further, the article shows the underlying decision-making rationalities and the role of organisational contexts and ethnic stereotypes for recruitment-related decisions.

Because of the recent emphasis on rhetorical context in business and technical writing (BTW) instruction, the problem-solving case has become a staple in BTW classrooms. However, a number of critics have voiced concerns about the use of the rhetorical case. These concerns recall an ancient debate among Roman rhetoricians over an early case-study method called declamation. For contemporary theorists, the debate over case study revolves around its value as a stimulant to problem-solving skills, its ability to imitate the realistic circumstances of professional BTW, and its emphasis on persona and audience along with its deemphasis of the teacher. A full spectrum of arguments on these and other issues in the case-study debate indicates that the discipline is entering a new phase in its deliberations over the role of problem-solving and pragmatics in the BTW classroom.

ABSTRAK Penulisan ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui manajemen humas radio Rama FM Bandung dalam meningkatkan pemasang iklan dari mulai tahapan perencanaan, pengorganisasian, pelaksanaan sampai dengan pengawasan, metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif untuk mengetahui karakteristik  dengan cara berinteraksi secara langsung dan mendalam mengenai sebuah program dan ringkasan yang digambarkan pada konteks di atas mendasari untuk menggali dan mendeskripsikan kegiatan-kegiatan yang dijalankan oleh radio Rama FM Bandung dalam meningkatkan pemasang iklan. Analisis penelitian ini menggunakan deskriptif kualittaif. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa kegiatan manajemen humas radio Rama FM Bandung dalam meningkatkan pemasang iklan dimulai pada tahapan pertama yaitu perencanaan pembuatan proposal, inovasi program, pengemasan iklan dan penyampaian iklan. Tahapan kedua yaitu pengorganisasian dengan komunikasi, membentuk team, pertimbangan tugas, dan persetujuan dari pimpinan. Tahapan ketiga yaitu pelaksanaan sesuai tugas, presentasi, pelaksanaan tugas sesuai susunan, pelaksanaan kegiatan. Tahap keempat yaitu pengawasan koordinasi, kinerja team yang bertugas, program yang berlangsung, dan pengawasan proses sebagai bahan evaluasi. Kata Kunci : Manajemen Humas; Meningkatkan; Pemasang Iklan. ABSTRACT This writing aims to determine radio public relations management Rama FM Bandung in increasing advertisers from the stages of planning, organizing, implementation to supervision, this research method uses a case study method to determine the characteristics by interacting directly and deeply about a case and summary illustrated in the above context underlying to explore and describe the activities carried out by radio Rama FM Bandung in improving advertisers. The analysis of this study uses descriptive qualitative. The results showed that the radio public relations management activities of Rama FM Bandung in increasing advertisers began in the first stage, namely the planning of making proposals, program innovation, packaging of advertisements and delivery of advertisements. The second stage is organizing with communication, forming teams, considering assignments, and approval from the leadership. The third stage is the implementation of tasks, presentations, implementation of tasks according to the arrangement, implementation of activities. The fourth stage is monitoring coordination, the performance of the team in charge, the ongoing program, and monitoring the process as an evaluation material.
