El objetivo de este estudio es determinar los motivos por los cuales las familias de Popayán no compran bienes y servicios en el sector comercial local y lo hacen en otros municipios o ciudades. Para lograrlo se realiza un muestreo incidental y se implementa un análisis con modelos estocásticos de variable discreta logística. Entre otros resultados, el estudio muestra que para la población encuestada son las mujeres quienes compran con más frecuencia que los hombres por fuera de la ciudad artículos como ropa, zapatosy accesorios. Adicionalmente, se encuentra que un factor determinante es la variedad, seguida por los precios, aunque esto depende del estrato al que   pertenezcan. Finalmente, se concluye que el comercio payanes debe mejorar en aspectos como la atención al público, horarios de atención, entre otros. ABSTRACTThe aim of this study is to determine the reasons why families of Popayan not buy goods and services in the local business sector and do so in other municipalities or cities. To achieve an incidental sampling and analysis is performed with discrete stochastic models logistic variable is implemented. Among other results, the study shows that the surveyed population is women who buy more frequently than men for out of town items such as clothing, shoes and accessories. Additionally, we find that a factor is the variety, followed by the prices, although this depends on the stratum to which they belong. Finally, it is concluded that the commercial sector must impro ve in areas such as customer service, hours of operation, among others. RESUMOO objetivo deste estudo é determinar as razões pelas quais famílias de Popayan não compram produtos e serviços no sector empresarial local e fazê-lo em outros municípios ou cidades. Para conseguir uma amostragem incidental e análise é realizada com modelos estocásticos discretos variável logística é implementado. Entre outros resultados, o estudo mostra que a população pesquisada são as mulheres que compram mais freqüentemente do que os homens para fora da cidade itens como roupas, sapatos e acessórios. Além disso , descobrimos que um factor é a variedade , seguido pelos preços , embora isto dependa do estrato a que pertencem . Por fim , concluímos que Payanes comércio deve melhorar em áreas como atendimento ao cliente , horário de funcionamento , entre outros.

The influence of for-profit businesses in collective action across countries to protect and promote population health dates from the first International Sanitary Conferences of the nineteenth century. The restructuring of the world economy since the late twentieth century and the growth of large transnational corporations have led the business sector to become a key feature of global health politics. The business sector has subsequently moved from being a commercial producer of health-related goods and services, contractor, and charitable donor, to being a major shaper of, and even participant in, global health policymaking bodies. This chapter discusses three sites where this has occurred: collective action to regulate health-harming industries, activities to provide for public interest needs, and participation in decision-making within global health institutions. These changing forms of engagement by the business sector have elicited scholarly and policy debate regarding the appropriate relationship between public and private interests in global health.

In-depth interviews were conducted with two executives from the firm and then the interviews were systemically analyzed. The results give a clear example of how firms can build competitive advantages from customer service.

In the framework of the «Project I: CUD» (Internet: Creatively Unveiling Discrimination), carried out in the United Kingdom, Italy, Belgium, Romania and Spain, we conducted a study into the expressions of discrimination used by young people on social network sites (SNS). To do so we designed a methodological strategy for detecting discriminatory content in 493 Facebook profiles and used this strategy to collect 363 examples for further analysis. Our aims were to compile information on the various types of discriminatory content and how they function online in order to create tools and strategies that can be used by trainers, teachers and families to combat discrimination on the Internet. Through this study we have detected patterns between young men and young women that reveal that there is a feminine and a masculine way of behaving on the Internet and that there are different ways of expressing discrimination on SNS. Men tend to be more direct in their posting and sharing of messages. Their messages, which are also more clearly discriminatory, focus more on discrimination towards ethnic groups and cultural minorities. Women, on the other hand, tend to use indirect (reactive) discriminatory strategies with a less obvious discriminatory component that mainly focuses on sociocultural status and physical appearance. En el marco del Proyecto «I:CUD» (Internet: Desenmascarando la discriminación creativamente), llevado a cabo en el Reino Unido, Italia, Bélgica, Rumanía y España, hemos desarrollado una investigación sobre las expresiones de discriminación utilizadas por los jóvenes en las redes sociales (SNS). Para la realización de esta investigación, se ha diseñado una estrategia metodológica de detección de contenidos discriminatorios en 493 perfiles de Facebook que ha permitido encontrar 363 ejemplos para su análisis. El objetivo de la misma ha sido la obtención de información acerca de los tipos de contenidos discriminatorios y su forma de funcionamiento on-line, para facilitar la creación de herramientas y estrategias para luchar contra la discriminación en la Red, y su utilización por parte de formadores, docentes y familias. Como resultado, hemos detectado algunos patrones diferenciales entre hombres y mujeres jóvenes que nos permiten afirmar la existencia de una forma femenina y otra masculina de comportarse en Internet y un uso diferencial de las SNS en relación con la discriminación. En cuanto a ésta, los hombres tienden a tener más actividad directa (publicando y compartiendo mensajes), con contenidos más claramente discriminatorios y, sobretodo, centrados en la discriminación hacia grupos étnicos y minorías culturales. Las mujeres, por su parte, tienden a utilizar estrategias de discriminación no directas (reactivas), con una menor evidencia del componente discriminatorio. Ellas, mayoritariamente, dirigen las actitudes discriminatorias hacia la situación sociocultural y la apariencia física.

Purpose: The modern city with its complex structure and dynamics is an important part of the tourist space, which has become especially attractive for travelers who tirelessly exploring the cultural heritage. Hotels, restaurants, amusement parks and other tourist infrastructure actively invading the urban environment changed the usual composition of the city. During the trip, tourists buy not only goods and services, they perceive the image of the city as a synthesis of impressions from the movement in the urban space, exploring it from different points of view, at different times of the day and in different seasons. Methodology: To assess the impact of environmental factors on the activities of catering enterprises of the Belgorod region and the quality of customer service, the authors proposed a method using STEP-analysis and SWOT-analysis. The analysis of environmental factors was carried out on the basis of the expert evaluation results conducted in two stages. Result: In tourism, the food infrastructure acts as an important element of entertainment and knowledge of local culture. Food is not just a common need of every person; tourists see it as entertainment and pleasure. Food of different peoples and even areas is usually very peculiar, so attractive to tourists. Catering infrastructure as an integral part of the hospitality industry should have a significant potential for adaptability, providing an opportunity for catering enterprises to respond quickly to frequent changes in the situation of the unstable tourism market, as well as to comply with the requirements of the destination brand. Applications: This research can be used for universities, teachers, and students. Novelty/Originality: In this research, the model of The Infrastructure of Public Catering In the Context of Tourist City Space Development is presented in a comprehensive and complete manner.

In a business environment characterized by digitization, globalization, mobility, workgroups, immediacy, and disintermediation (Tapscott, 1996), organizations have become ever more reliant on delivering maximum value to their customers to keep competitive. Knowledge workers using computing and communication technologies produce intangible goods and services. They represent the primary leverage through which organizations maximize the value offered to their customers. Leveraging the intellectual assets of knowledge workers should be the primary focus of planning processes where customer service systems are designed along with accompanying IT solutions. Knowledge work will require new forms of management and, implicitly, a new strategy for human resource management (Collins, 1998). Consequently, human resource management is increasingly trying to reinvent itself around the emerging concepts of knowledge work and core competencies (Lawler, 2000).

Amid severe shortages of raw materials, labor, and transportation, companies in occupied France (1940–1944) sought alternative paths to what is commonly called “economic collaboration.” They worked to find substitute supplies, convert to new product lines, alter their manufacturing methods, and even adapt to the black market. But few businesses could avoid the question of whether to provide goods and services to the occupier. The opportunities to do so were widespread, though they varied according to occupation, economic branch, and the passage of time during the Occupation. The German occupiers thus benefited from the French economy. With decisive help from the Vichy regime, the occupiers managed to force, induce, or entice French enterprises into their war economy—be they large industries formerly mobilized for French national defense, small and medium-sized firms, or agricultural producers.

The economic and political arguments for the market principle over alternative forms of economic organization are to my mind irrefutable. It is on the moral level that the perplexing concerns about capitalism center, concerns that have been raised from the beginnings of the industrial era down to the present time. This essay focuses on one major aspect of the ongoing moral test of capitalism: the test of whether our major corporations can both succeed in their profit-making efforts and also serve as one of society’s chief mediating structures that stand, like family, church and community, between the individual and the state. Should the corporation serve not simply as a utilitarian arrangement for the efficient production of high quality goods and services, but also as a moral community that shapes human character and behavior? How can it do so in this age of brutal markets?James Q. Wilson, professor of management at UCLA, has no doubt about the answer. In an article last year, he said: “The problem of imbuing large-scale enterprise with a decent moral life is fundamental.” Corporations “are systems of human action that cannot for long command the loyalty of their members if their standards of collective action are materially lower than those of their individual members.” Capitalists should recognize, he concluded, “that, while free markets will ruthlessly eliminate inefficient firms, the moral sentiments of man will only gradually and uncertainly penalize immoral ones. But, while the quick destruction of inefficient corporations threatens only individual firms, the slow anger at immoral ones threatens capitalism, and thus freedom itself.”

The State and the Business Activity have a relationship of Interdependence. That holds the punitive and regulatory power, this, the economic. The achievement of the global Sustainability goal implies harmony between the actors for joint policies. In view of this, it aims to demonstrate the participation of the business sector to achieve this objective, through socio-environmental management - with the organization or business financially viable, fair to the Company and endowed with environmental responsibility. To do so, the relationship between the human being and the environment is first analyzed in order to identify the consequences of human performance over time. Subsequently, the application of Sustainability as a concept to the application of management policies for the business sector is studied, considering the awareness developed about the existence of a Risk Society, as well as, the possibility of benefits arising from this management model. The method used was inductive.

The purpose of the present paper is to compare the impact of implementing Value Added Tax on Export of goods and services in selected countries. In this paper, we used four different indices for export; export of goods and services, export of goods and services (BOP), export of goods and services (annual % growth), export of goods and services (% of GDP) to investigate the sensitivity to different definitions .To do so, study concentrated on a sample of 140 countries that have applied Value Added Tax in their tax system from 1990 to 2008. Findings of the study based on Mean Difference Statistical Test in a two threeyear periods before and after introduction of VAT. In general, the results show that, in different indices, the impact of VAT on export is positive. Therefore, it is suggested that other countries have not yet introduced the VAT to reform their tax system by introducing the VAT.
