This work presents the results of studying the evolution of the dielectric properties of nanocomposite NaNO2/Al2O3 samples with pore sizes of 100 and 70 nm. The samples were examined by dielectric spectroscopy. It is shown that in nanosized sodium nitrite embedded in porous aluminum oxide, the effect of «aging» associated with the time factor is observed. A decrease in the values of the dielectric constant is observed during long-term storage of the sample under normal conditions.

The change of dielectric properties of epoxy/anhydride systems during eleven months storing was investigated. Test systems were bisphenol-A epoxy cured by different content of methyl-hexahydrophthalic anhydride with a slow cooling process across Tg range included in their curing procedure to reduce residual stress. The results showed all the systems’ dielectric constant and dielectric loss angle tangent had a trend of down then up. The highest decreasing amplitudes were about 4% and 10% respectively. Possible explanations for these phenomena were proposed, and then some preliminary investigations were carried out like DSC and IR.

AbstractTemperature dependences of the linear permittivity ε' and the third harmonic amplitude γ_3ω of composites prepared by introducing ferroelectrics KIO_3 into matrices of porous aluminum oxide Al_2O_3 with pore sizes of 240 nm were studied. It is found that the IV → III and III → II structural transition temperatures of potassium iodide in Al_2O_3 pores decrease by 5 K and 24 K, respectively, with respect to bulk KIO_3. The measurements of the dielectric properties do not reveal V → IV and II → I phase transitions in the composite samples.

A model of moisture movement in wood is presented in this paper in a two-dimensional-in-space formulation. The finite-difference technique has been used in order to obtain the solution of the problem. The model was applied to predict the moisture content in sawn boards from pine during long term storage under outdoor climatic conditions. The satisfactory agreement between the numerical solution and experimental data was obtained.
