AbstractWe give some sufficient conditions for the existence and uniqueness of the solution of a higher-order linear differential equation with unbounded coefficients in the Hilbert space. We obtain some estimates for the weighted norms of the solution and its derivatives. Using these estimates, we show the conditions for the compactness of some integral operators associated with the resolvent.

Abstract Let $\mathcal {W}^{n}$ W n be the set of smooth complete simply connected n-dimensional manifolds without conjugate points. The Euclidean space and the hyperbolic space are examples of these manifolds. Let $W\in \mathcal {W}^{n}$ W ∈ W n and let A and B be two convex subsets of W. This note aims to investigate separation and slab horosphere separation of A and B. For example, sufficient conditions on A and B to be separated by a slab of horospheres are obtained. Existence and uniqueness of foot points and farthest points of a convex set A in $W\in \mathcal {W}$ W ∈ W are considered.

Abstract The aim of this study is to investigate the finite approximate controllability of certain Hilfer fractional evolution systems with nonlocal conditions. To achieve this, we first transform the mild solution of the Hilfer fractional evolution system into a fixed point problem for a condensing map. Then, by using the topological degree approach, we present sufficient conditions for the existence and uniqueness of the solution of the Hilfer fractional evolution systems. Using the variational approach, we obtain sufficient conditions for the finite approximate controllability of semilinear controlled systems. Finally, an example is provided to illustrate main results.

The main purpose of this study was to demonstrate the existence and the uniqueness theorem of the solution of the neutral stochastic differential equations under sufficient conditions. As an alternative to the stochastic analysis theory of the neutral stochastic differential equations, we impose a weakened Ho¨lder condition and a weakened linear growth condition. Stochastic results are obtained for the theory of the existence and uniqueness of the solution. We first show that the conditions guarantee the existence and uniqueness; then, we show some exponential estimates for the solutions.

<p>In this paper, we investigate and obtain a new discrete $ q $-fractional version of the Gronwall inequality. As applications, we consider the existence and uniqueness of the solution of $ q $-fractional damped difference systems with time delay. Moreover, we formulate the novel sufficient conditions such that the $ q $-fractional damped difference delayed systems is finite time stable. Our result extend the main results of the paper by Abdeljawad et al. [A generalized $ q $-fractional Gronwall inequality and its applications to nonlinear delay $ q $-fractional difference systems, J.Inequal. Appl. 2016,240].</p>

The visibility function assigns to each point x of a fixed measurable set E in a Euclidean space En the Lebesgue outer measure of S(x), the set {y : rx + (1 — r)y ∊ E for every r in [0, 1]}.The purpose of this paper is to determine sufficient conditions for the continuity of the function on the interor of a starshaped set.

This manuscript is devoted to investigate qualitative theory of existence and uniqueness of the solution to a dynamical system of an infectious disease known as measles. For the respective theory, we utilize fixed point theory to construct sufficient conditions for existence and uniqueness of the solution. Some results corresponding to Hyers–Ulam stability are also investigated. Furthermore, some semianalytical results are computed for the considered system by using integral transform due to the Laplace and decomposition technique of Adomian. The obtained results are presented by graphs also.

This paper is concerned with the global dynamics of a Lotka–Volterra competition diffusion system having nonlocal intraspecies terms. Based on the reconstructed comparison principle and monotone iteration, the existence and uniqueness of the solution for the corresponding Cauchy problem are established. In addition, the spreading speed of the system with compactly supported initial data is considered, which admits uniform upper and lower bounds. Finally, some sufficient conditions for guaranteeing the existence and nonexistence of Turing bifurcation are given, which depend on the intensity of nonlocality. Comparing with the classical Lotka–Volterra competition diffusion system, our results indicate that a nonconstant periodic solution may exist if the nonlocality is strong enough, which are also illustrated numerically.

Noticing that E -convexity, m-convexity and b-invexity have similar structures in their definitions, there are some possibilities to treat these three class of mappings uniformly. For this purpose, the definitions of the ( E , m ) -convex sets and the b- ( E , m ) -convex mappings are introduced. The properties concerning operations that preserve the ( E , m ) -convexity of the proposed mappings are derived. The unconstrained and inequality constrained b- ( E , m ) -convex programming are considered, where the sufficient conditions of optimality are developed and the uniqueness of the solution to the b- ( E , m ) -convex programming are investigated. Furthermore, the sufficient optimality conditions and the Fritz–John necessary optimality criteria for nonlinear multi-objective b- ( E , m ) -convex programming are established. The Wolfe-type symmetric duality theorems under the b- ( E , m ) -convexity, including weak and strong symmetric duality theorems, are also presented. Finally, we construct two examples in detail to show how the obtained results can be used in b- ( E , m ) -convex programming.

A class of functions called semi-E-preinvex functions is defined as a generalization of semi-E-convex functions. Similarly, the concept of semi-E-quasiconvex functions is also generalized to semi-E-prequasiinvex functions. Properties of these proposed classes are studied, and sufficient conditions for a nonempty subset of the n-dimensional Euclidean space to be an E-convex or E-invex set are given. The relationship between semi-E-preinvex and E-preinvex functions are discussed along with results for the corresponding nonlinear programming problems.
