Community may be involved in food security program by utilizing local based food materials in their surrounding areas. Potency of local food in Indonesia can be used as an alternative for the staple food. Te huge number of housewives in Yogyakarta can support the family economy or reduce the household budget through the use of local food sources. Tis community service activities aiemed at providing an understanding of processing technology of non-rice and non wheat food resources to be utilized to achieve food security and improve household economy. Outcomes of this activity are non-rice food products as carbohydrates source and non - grain food diversifcation, an improved understanding of food processing technology, as well as increased understanding of marketing and entrepreneurship.

The food security crisis and disproportionately high burden of dietary related disease amongst northern Indigenous populations in Canada continues to be a troubling reality with little sign of improvement. The Government of Canada is responding by developing programs to support local food initiatives for northern isolated communities. While such investments appear commendable, the impact of local food harvesting to improve food security has yet to be determined. While there are clear nutritional and cultural benefits to traditional food sources, communities face considerable barriers acquiring it in sufficient amounts because of historically imposed lifestyle changes that have increased food insecurity rates. This study responds by providing a novel multidisciplinary approach that draws from firsthand experiences working with First Nations community members in a remote subarctic region in northwestern, Ontario to estimate their community’s total food requirement and the amount of wild animal food sources needed to sustain yearly food intake. This transferrable energy demand approach will be critical for policy makers to put into perspective the amount of wild food needed to have an impact on food security rates and ultimately improve dietary related diseases. Novelty: • It will provide government policy makers information about current harvest yields in a remote northern First Nation to understand the potential contribution of traditional food to improve local food security • Provides Indigenous communities a means to assess local food resources to measure the caloric contributions of traditional foods toward household food security

Using samples of households from the 1851 and 1881 censuses of Arnold, Nottinghamshire, a proto-industrial village specializing in framework knitting, the research reported in this article examines the changes in the economic activities of household members as the domestic industry was being superseded by the factory system. The data show the continuing importance of the family economy to the economic viability of households and the increasing significance of the economic contribution of wives. These economic contributions were made possible by an increased demand for women to do homework as seamers of hosiery, which occurred as a consequence of changes in the methods of manufacturing knitted garments.

The current pandemic of the Corona-19 virus not only affects social activities but also affects the food sector. Strong food security in the long term can be realized through a diversification program based on local wisdom by utilizing local plants. This study aims to determine the potential of local food sources that can be used as an alternative to food consumption in the regions and reduce dependence on food sources from outside the region in realizing food security during and after the Covid-19 pandemic (study on communities in the Mungku Baru Educational Forest area, Muhammadiyah University. Palangkaraya). The research was conducted in the educational forest area or Forest Area with Special Purpose (KHDTK), Mungku Baru Village, Rakumpit District, Palangka Raya City, Central Kalimantan Province. The research method is descriptive qualitative from the results of interviews. Data analysis using tabulation matrix. There are 33species of local plants used by the community. Utilization of these plants in the form of fruit, seed, peel of fruit, leaves, rubers, and young shoots by eating or cooking them. Cultivation has not been carried out, the community takes directly part of the plant to be consumed. Habitus of these plants in the form of trees, shrubs, lianas, grasses, shrubs and herbs. Existing local food sources can be used as an alternative for food consumption in the regions and reduce dependence on food sources from outside the region and can realize food security during and after the Covid-19 pandemic

Budikdamber is cultivating fish and vegetables in one bucket, which is an aquaponic system. Usually, the aquaponics system developed so far requires pumps and filters, requiring electricity, ample land, expensive and complicated costs. The concept is simple and does not require significant capital, and it does not need a large room or pool to be an added value of this technology. The Budikdamber technique can be one of the community's solutions to innovate fish and vegetable cultivation at once in one container. In addition, with the current state of the COVID-19 pandemic, Budikdamber activities can be a solution for family food security. Community service was carried out in Fitu Village, South Ternate District, in June 2021. The objectives of this community service are Providing information to the public on how to use the narrow land on the terraces and yards for fish and vegetable cultivation in buckets so that people can maintain food security during the current COVID-19 pandemic. Budikdamber (Fish Cultivation in Buckets) cultivates fish and vegetables in one bucket: an aquaponics system (fish and vegetable polyculture) as a community solution in providing food needs COVID-19 pandemic. It could use as a business opportunity to help the family economy.

One of the natural potentials available in large quantities in the Tanete Village is the chicken farming sector. Efforts to empower the community of Tanete Village can be done by promoting appropriate technology. Food processing technology based on chicken meat is in the form of meatballs, sausages, jerky and crispy chicken skin crackers. The processed products are animal origin foods which are processed with the aim to have a longer shelf life and add flavor to the menu or daily dishes. Through this diversification the shelf life can reach more than 60 days. The purpose of the Community Partnership Program (PKM) is to change the mindset of housewives to be more creative in diversifying processed products from the local potential available in their villages, so as to be able to contribute greatly to the family economy.

Wanita memiliki peran yang signifikan untuk ikut  berperan aktif dan produktif dalam perekonomian. Masyarakat menjadi produktif sehingga dapat meningkatkan derajat dan taraf hidup serta meningkatkan kesejahteraan keluarga.Berwirausaha menjadi pilihan perempuan untuk dapat bekerja membantu perekonomian keluarga dan koperasi merupakan salah satu perwujudannya.Koperasi merupakan salah satu bentuk nyata dari pengamalan pancasila.Untuk mendukung majunya koperasi perlu adanya sosialisasi kewirausahaan ke anggota koperasi khususnya wanita.Koperasi wanita mempunyai karakteristik khas yang berbeda dengan koperasi pada umumnya sehingga membutuhkan pendekatan strategi pengembangan yang berbeda pula. Hal ini tak bisa terlepas dari karakteristik anggotanya di dominasi oleh ibu rumah tangga yang menyebabkan keunggulan tersendiri dibandingkan koperasi lain.Adapun tujuannya untuk membuka dan  menumbuhkan jiwa usaha sehingga anggota dapat membantu mensejahterakan dirinya serta keluarga. Studi ini diawali dengan observasi kepada anggota koperasi yang bekerja hanya sebagai ibu rumah tangga.Sosialisasi diberikan dalam satu tahap mengenai motivasi usaha dan wirausaha.Pelatihan ini memberikan dampak positif bagi peningkatan motivasi, pengetahuan dan ketrampilan anggota koperasi wanita Tanah Abang. Women have a significant role to play an active and productive role in the economy. The community becomes productive so that it can improve the degree and standard of living and improve family welfare. Entrepreneurship is the choice of women to be able to work to help the family economy and cooperatives is one of its manifestations. Cooperatives are one of the real forms of Pancasila practice. To support the advancement of cooperatives, there needs to be entrepreneurial dissemination to cooperative members, especially women. Women's cooperatives have distinctive characteristics that are different from cooperatives in general so that they require a different development strategy approach. This cannot be separated from the characteristics of its members who are dominated by housewives which causes its own superiority compared to other cooperatives. The purpose is to open and grow the business spirit so that members can help the welfare of themselves and their families. This study begins with observations to cooperative members who work only as housewives. Socialization is given in one stage regarding business motivation and entrepreneurship. This training has a positive impact on increasing the motivation, knowledge and skills of members of the Tanah Abang women's cooperative.Keywords: Women; Cooperative; Entrepreneurship
