In this paper, a current-mode quadrature oscillator using second-generation current conveyors (CCIIs) is presented. The proposed oscillator consists of two CCIIs, two grounded capacitors and two grounded resistors. The circuit is suitable for integrated circuit implementation by using grounded capacitors. In addition, a new current-controlled current-mode quadrature oscillator using two current controlled second generation current conveyors (CCCIIs) and two grounded capacitors can be obtained by replacing CCIIs and resistors series at X terminals with CCCIIs. The condition of oscillation and frequency of oscillation can be orthogonally controlled. The frequency of oscillation can be controlled by grounded resistors and external bias currents. The proposed circuits have been simulated by SPICE simulations. The simulation results are confirmed the proposed theory.

This paper describes a current-mode third-order quadrature oscillator based on current differencing transconductance amplifiers (CDTAs). Outputs of two current-mode sinusoids with90°phase difference are available in the quadrature oscillator circuit. The oscillation condition and oscillation frequency are orthogonal controllable. The proposed circuit employs only grounded capacitors and is ideal for integration. Simulation results are included to confirm the theoretical analysis.

A current-mode universal biquadratic filter with three input terminals and one output terminal is presented. The architecture uses two current conveyors (CCs), two grounded capacitors and two grounded resistors; and can realize all standard second-order filter functions — highpass, bandpass, lowpass, notch and allpass. Moreover, the circuit still offers the following advantage features: very low active and passive sensitivities, using of grounded capacitors and resistors which is ideal for integrated circuit implementation, without requirements for critical component matching conditions and very high output impedance. The workability of the proposed circuit has been verified via HSPICE simulations using TSMC 0.18 μm, level 49 MOSFET technology.

New RC oscillator circuits are presented. Each circuit uses two second-generation positive current-conveyors, three grounded capacitors and four grounded resistors. The circuits enjoy independent control of the frequency and the condition of oscillation and are very attractive for integration. The circuits can realize high and low frequencies of oscillation. Simulation results are included.

This paper introduces a current-mode first-order all-pass filter (APF) and its application in quadrature oscillator (QO) based on CCCII. The proposed filter can provide inverting and noninverting all-pass functions with a same circuit topology, it uses two CCCIIs and one grounded capacitor. Moreover, the first-order all-pass filter was applied in current-mode sinusoidal quadrature oscillators with the design based on block diagrams. The introduced oscillators can provide four phase-quadrature signals which independently control the condition of oscillation (CO) and frequency of oscillation (FO). The proposed oscillators consist of three CCCIIs and two grounded capacitors. The proposed APF and QOs have high output impedance which can directly drive load without additional current buffer. In addition, they use only grounded capacitors which are very appropriate to future development into an integrated circuit. The results of PSPICE simulation program correspond to the theoretical analysis.

In this paper, a versatile quadrature oscillator using single Differential Difference Second Generation Dual-X Current Conveyor (DD-DXCCII) as an active element, two grounded capacitors and three grounded resistors is presented. The proposed oscillator provides two current outputs and three voltage outputs in quadrature relationship simultaneously so named as versatile quadrature oscillator. The proposed versatile quadrature oscillator exhibits the feature of orthogonal control over the frequency of oscillation and condition of oscillation. Effects of non-idealities along with sensitivity analysis are also analyzed. The proposed circuit has low active and passive sensitivities. Parasitic study is further explored. The simulation results with 0.18μm CMOS process parameters using PSPICE are also given. Possible realization of proposed oscillator using AD-844 and LM13600 along with some simulation results are also given for completeness sake.

A Current-Mode (CM) TransImpedance Amplifier (TIA) based on Second Generation Current Conveyors (CCIIs) for capacitive microsensor measurements is presented. The designed electronic interface performs a capacitance-to-voltage conversion using 3 CCIIs and 3 resistors exploiting a synchronous-demodulation technique to improve the overall detection sensitivity and resolution of the system. A CM-TIA solution designed at transistor level in AMS0.35 µm integrated CMOS technology with a power consumption lower than 900 µW is proposed. Experimental results obtained with a board-level prototype show linear behavior of the proposed interface circuit with a resolution up to 34.5 fF and a sensitivity up to 223 mV/nF, confirming the theoretical expectations.

This research article explores the possible applications of voltage differencing current conveyor (VDCC), as a current mode universal filter and a sinusoidal oscillator. Without the need for an additional active/passive element, a very simple hardware modification makes it a dual-mode quadrature oscillator from the filter configuration. Both the proposed circuit requires only two VDCC and all grounded passive elements, hence a preferable choice for integration. The filter has some desirable features such as availability of all five explicit outputs, independent tunability of filter parameters. Availability of explicit quadrature current outputs, independence in start and frequency of oscillations, makes it a better oscillator design. Apart from prevalent CMOS simulation results, VDCC is also realized and experimentally tested using the off-the-shelf integrated circuit. All the pen and paper analysis such as non-ideal, sensitivity and parasitic analysis supports the design.

This paper describes the conception of the current follower transconductance amplifier (CFTA) with electronically and linearly current tunable. The newly modified element is realized based on the use of transconductance cells (Gms) as core circuits. The advantage of this element is that the current transfer ratios (iz/ipandix/iz) can be tuned electronically and linearly by adjusting external DC bias currents. The circuit is designed and analyzed in 0.35 μm TSMC CMOS technology. Simulation results for the circuit with ±1.25 V supply voltages show that it consumes only 0.43 mw quiescent power with 70 MHz bandwidth. As an application example, a current-mode KHN biquad filter is designed and simulated.
