Anorexia is a disease that affects more and more people, it ffects many more women and girls than men and boys. In most cases, the disease is diagnosed between 14 and 18 years of age. People with anorexia nervosa suddenly and excessively start losing weight by eating meals in mall, low-calorie portions. In addition to excessive weight loss, there may be dangerous hormonal disorders in the body. By conducting activities aimed at creating proper psychosocial health, it is possible to avoid an increase in the incidence of anorexia. Aim of the study. The purpose of the work is to apply appropriate nursing activities to a patient with anorexia in a psychiatric ward. Case study. A 20-year-old patient in a psychiatric ward complains of feeling strong anxiety due to fear of weight gain. He avoids watching himself in the mirror. Significant dehydration of the body occurred through prolonged use of laxatives. The patient requires education regarding the disease and help in self-care activities. According to the interview, the patient was affected by this type of symptoms for the first time. Conclusions. The comprehensive care provided by medical staff has significantly improved the patient's well-being, but all activities should be continued so that the patient can recover fully.

Blogs are an easy-to-use, free alternative to classic means of computer-mediated communication. Moreover, they are authentically aligned with web activity patterns of today’s students. The body of studies on integrating and implementing blogs in various educational settings has grown rapidly recently; however, it is often difficult to distill practical advice from these studies since the application contexts, pedagogical objectives, and research methodology differ greatly. This paper takes a step toward an improved understanding of employing blogs in education by presenting a follow-up case study on using blogs as reflective journals in an undergraduate computer-science lab course. This study includes lessons learned and adaptations following from the first-time application, the underlying pedagogical strategy, and a detailed analysis and discussion of blogging activity data obtained from RSS feeds and LMS logs.

Hemiplegia, or paralysis of one side of the body, is caused by injury or illness (for example, a stroke), and leads to other disabilities. People with hemiplegia are limited physically in their daily activities. This limitation affects their social well-being and thus can lead to depression. This paper provides a comprehensive literature review on hemiplegia in men. A single case study of a man with hemiplegia living in Hong Kong is also presented here. A critical discussion of the signs and symptoms of “male-type” depression and humanising attitudes towards men with hemiplegia follows. Critical areas in rehabilitation, social support, and developing partnerships are also highlighted. This paper intends to facilitate better understanding by health and social care providers of the needs of men with hemiplegia. Implications for clinical practice and research are likewise addressed. Further studies using multiple case studies are recommended to ensure a comprehensive understanding of hemiplegia in men.

Over a number of decades, studies have revealed compelling relationships between experiences of the natural environment and positive health outcomes in adult communities. These psychosocial health benefits have typically been described via key theoretical frameworks in the health sciences, such as the biophilia hypothesis. Despite the body of evidence for nature design and well-being, propositions for immersive virtual nature experiences are still emerging across the fields of creativity and health. In this article, we identify the potential for immersive virtual nature art as a creative well-being intervention, articulated through a discussion of background literature and concepts leading to the development of our artwork, Inner Forest (2020–21). This article incorporates a transdisciplinary suite of perspectives across three key parts; in the first section, we review key health and design research around beneficial nature experiences, with particular emphasis on designing technological nature. Secondly, we propose considerations for immersive virtual nature experiences, as distinct from prior iterations of technological nature; these considerations are framed through discussion of our artistic and well-being rationale for designing the collaborative artwork Inner Forest. This extended reality (XR) project was developed in response to well-being challenges such as social isolation and restricted nature access- of particular valence during the COVID-19 pandemic. The artwork incorporates multisensory, aesthetic elements drawn from biophilic design guidelineswhich support creative, evidence-based approaches to designed nature and societal health. To conclude this article, we report on prospects for further scaling of the Inner Forest artwork, with ongoing scope to contribute to both nature-health design and immersive virtual nature art practices.

In Ayurveda Kushta is the term used to denote different varieties of skin diseases, which includes all major skin manifestations such as Psoriasis. Nature-based Solutions (NbS) have been advocated to protect, sustainably manage, and restore natural or modified ecosystems, simultaneously providing human well-being and biodiversity benefits. The uptake of NbS differs regionally with some countries exhibiting greater uptake than others. The success of NbS also differs regionally with varying environmental conditions and social-ecological processes. In many regions, the body of knowledge, particularly around the efficacy of such efforts, remains fragmented. Having an “inventory” or “tool box” of regionally-trialed methods, outcomes and lessons learnt can improve the evidence base, inform adaptive management, and ultimately support the uptake of NbS. Using Malaysia as a case study, we provide a comprehensive overview of trialed and tested NbS efforts that used nature to address societal challenges in marine and coastal environments (here referring to mangroves, seagrass, coral reefs), and detailed these efforts according to their objectives, as well as their anticipated and actual outcomes. The NbS efforts were categorized according to the IUCN NbS approach typology and mapped to provide a spatial overview of IUCN NbS effort types. A total of 229 NbS efforts were collated, representing various levels of implementation success. From the assessment of these efforts, several key actions were identified as a way forward to enhance the uptake of Nature-based Solutions for informing coastal sustainable development policy and planning. These include increasing education, training, and knowledge sharing; rationalizing cooperation across jurisdictions, laws, and regulations; enhancing environmental monitoring; leveraging on existing policies; enabling collaboration and communication; and implementing sustainable finance instruments. These findings can be used to inform the improved application and uptake of NbS, globally.

This reflective case study sets out to ask ‘How do participatory textile-making projects engage and impact participants and recipients?’ by focusing on Knitted Knockers UK, a global network of knitters who voluntarily create prosthetics for women following mastectomy or lumpectomy. The article examines the choices women are faced with following breast cancer surgery, and considers ‘softer options’ to surgical reconstruction, including knitted prosthetics. Drawing on qualitative data gathered via personal communications and social media, personal experience of breast cancer diagnosis and treatment, and feminist discourse with relation to breast cancer and the body, the authors evaluate the relationship between well-being, healthcare and digitally connected knitting communities. They offer reflections on the materiality of care the Knitted Knockers represent and consider the role these hand-knitted prosthetics can play in providing a sense of community and emotional well-being for both the creators and the recipients of these knitted gifts.

Many researchers believe that the brain is able to heal the body by most diseases without any outside help, but only if its hemispheres are synchronized. A sick person always presents, even if he or she is an infant or a child, in 100% of cases, the lack of synchronization of the cerebral hemispheres. As soon as we manage to synchronize the hemispheres, at least 10%, the brain (the best doctor in the world) begins not only to recognize the problem of health, it will also solve it. This is possible thanks also to the bio-resonance - the living body’s ability to enter in resonance with external acoustic action. The bio-resonance can be defined as the ability of a living organism to react to the vibrational external action. According to some of the most recent discoveries each organ of our body has its own particular frequency and its own rhythm. The frequencies and rhythms of each organ are well known, so it is possible to create programs in acoustic resonance with a particular organ or physiological system. The bio-resonance acts on the body through the brain, while the allopathic treatment does the opposite - it acts on the brain through body. This is why as serious researchers, we are called to engage in innovative and challenging programs, in order to find the right rhythms to communicate serenity and well-being, starting from a sector such as pediatry and neonatology.
