The purpose of performed research aimed to establish the influence of protein supplements on the quality and economic efficiency in the processing of a certain semi-smoked sausage assortment using two experimental processing technologies: with 3% soy protein derivatives as supplements and 100% soy protein derivatives as vegetal raw materials. The results revealed that, from an economical point of view, the vegetal processing technology (with exclusively vegetal raw materials) was more efficiently than the supplemented processing technology (with protein derivatives as supplements) and from qualitatively point of view, the obtained values have been in accordance with the in force STAS-es.

The continuous development of plasticizing conveying methods and devices has been carried out to meet the needs of the polymer processing industry. As compared to the conventional shear-flow-dominated plasticizing and conveying techniques, a new method for processing polymers based on elongational flow was proposed. This new method and the related devices such as vane extruders, eccentric rotor extruders and so on, exhibited multiple advantages including shorter processing time, higher mixing effectiveness, improved product performance and better adaptability to various material systems. The development of new techniques in the field of polymer material processing has opened up a broad space for the development of new plastic products, improved product performance and reduced processing costs. In this review, recent advances concerning the processing techniques based on elongational flow are summarized, and the broad applications in polymer processing as well as some future opportunities and challenges in this vibrant area are elucidated in detail.

Rising health concerns and increasing obesity levels in human society have led some consumers to cut back on animal protein consumption and switch to plant-based proteins as an alternative. Soy protein is a versatile protein supplement and contains well-balanced amino acids, making it comparable to animal protein. With sufficient processing and modification, the quality of soy protein can be improved above that of animal-derived proteins, if desired. The modern food industry is undergoing a dynamic change, with advanced processing technologies that can produce a multitude of foods and ingredients with functional properties from soy proteins, providing consumers with a wide variety of foods. This review highlights recent progress in soy protein processing technologies. Using the current literature, the processing-induced structural changes in soy protein are also explored. Furthermore, the molecular structure of soy protein, particularly the crystal structures of β-conglycinin and glycinin, is comprehensively revisited. The use CCD detectors has allowed a major progress in abundance derivations for globular cluster stars in the last years. Abundances deduced from high dispersion spectra now correlates well with other abundance indicators. I discuss some problems concerning the derivation of accurate metal abundances for globular clusters using high dispersion spectra from both the old photographic and the most recent CCD data. The discrepant low abundances found by Cohen (1980), from photographic material for M71 giants, are found to be due to the use of too high microturbulences.
