Rapid growth of information technology development as well as increasing level of competition make every company need to establish an information system to support its business process. Research & Technology Transfer Directorate of Binus University is aware of this matter and makes a goal to improve the existing business process and develop a web-based information system that is able to support the existing business process to be more effective and efficient. This study aims to conduct an analysis and a design of information system for Research & Technology Transfer Directorate Binus University that can enhance the existing business process. Research used two methods, firstly data gathering done by conducting field studies and literature reviews, secondly the analysis and design of the system with object-oriented method. The result achieved from this research is a web-based information system that can support Research & Technology Transfer Directorate business process. The conclusion of this research is a new integrated web-based information system that can support and enhance current business process by connecting all parts of the system with the result to make all process more effective and efficient.

Farmers' objectives, their circumstances and the constraints they face are central to any consideration of ways and means of improving farming systems. The management, research and extension, and policy needs of the farmers attending this workshop were diverse. This appeared to be linked with the (unexpected) degree of diversity in the business objectives and management structures on these farms. More formal research on these issues across the spectrum of farmers is required to ensure that research and technology transfer meet the industry's needs. Keywords farming systems, research, technology transfer, objectives

The Advanced Research and Technology Development (AR&TD) Fossil Energy Materials Program is a multifaceted materials research and development program sponsored by the Office of Fossil Energy of the U.S. Department of Energy. The program is administered by the Office of Technical Coordination. In 1979, the Office of Fossil Energy assigned responsibilities for this program to the DOE Oak Ridge Operations Office (ORO) as the lead field office and Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) as the lead national laboratory. Technical activities on the program are divided into three research thrust areas: structural ceramic composites, alloy development and mechanical properties, and corrosion and erosion of alloys. In addition, assessments and technology transfer are included in a fourth thrust area. This paper provides information on the structure of the program and summarizes some of the major research activities.

The European Water Supply and Sanitation Technology Platform (WSSTP) is an industry driven organisation aiming to strengthen the potential for technological innovation and the competitiveness of the European Water Industry. In response to global challenges and regional demands a strategy has been proposed to ensure safe, secure and sustainable water and sanitation services for the benefit of industry, the society and the environment. Integrated Water Resources Management is used as a guiding principle. Water supply, wastewater treatment (sanitation), river basin management and concerns of regulators, financing institutions and the civil society are the key elements of a system to be sustainably managed. Decision makers of the private and the public sector are to understand that investment in research, technology development and implementation of innovation is an important element in the process of securing economic prosperity, social stability and functioning of the ecological systems which we as human beings are a part of. A hierarchic, practice oriented structure is proposed to organize and govern research and technology development in Europe. Research will be organized within the framework of thematically designed pilot programmes containing a distinct number of implementation cases to execute close-to-reality research.

In the process of development, Malaysia has been importing technology in massive proportions during the recent years. But it is reported that the extent of transfer of the imported technology to form Malaysia's own technology is far below the target of expectation. In this paper, the authors have tried to identify the problems which are hindering the expected technology transfer and suggested a positive role that UTM can play in overcoming these problems. The different stages in the process of technology development have been discussed and the establishment of a technology centre, in UTM having multifunction activities contributing to the transfer of technology has been emphasized.
