This paper introduces new type of save energy piston valve for water pump balance control, which is save energy efficiency expert. This piston valve is designed by pneumatic theory, and drive power is delivered by air compressor or pressure air source in waterworks. Pressure air is lead into cavity of piston valve by transfer action of “two positions and five channels ” electromagnetic valve, then piston drive valve to open or close water pump. This piston valve has followed functions such as balance control action, avoiding refluence, zero flow open and close, accidental power stop for water hammer and son on. Application of this piston valve had proved saving energy to 3%.

Ultrasonic cleaning is one of the most efficient types of cleaning mining equipment. In order to enhance its energy efficiency, it is required to improve control over ultrasonic cleaning through considering its spacious distribution. This control is based on assessing the condition of a cleaned object in set points to determine duration of the process according to the real contamination of a product. In order to form controlling impact, the authors suggest a new fuzzy controller, which combines features of a 3D fuzzy controller and an interval fuzzy controller of Type 2. This enables taking advantages of both extensions of fuzzy logic – an opportunity to process spacious data through fuzzy expert evaluation. The concept of a controller is based on the 3-D interval fuzzy set of Type 2. The developed controller differs from the traditional one by reduced dimension and reduction of IТ2 FS to IТ1 FS. The rule base remains two-dimensional and is not dependent on the number of sensors. The elaborated methods enable the controller model based on 3-D IТ2 FS for ultrasonic cleaning of mining equipment. Spacious distribution of the process and ambiguity of expert assessments are considered to determine the process course according to the data of ultrasonic sensors.

At steel production based on scrap metal utilization, the scrap heating before charging into a melting facility is an important way of energy efficiency increase and ecological parameters improving. In winter time scrap metal charging with ice inclusions into a metal melt can result in a considerable damage of equipment and even accidents. Therefore, scrap preliminary drying is necessary to provide industrial safety. It was shown, that in countries with warm and low-snow climate with no risk of scrap metal icing up during its transportation and storing in the open air, the basic task being solved at the scrap drying is an increase of energy efficiency of steelmaking. InRussiathe scrap metal drying first of all provides the safety of the process and next - energy saving. Existing technologies of scrap metal drying and heating considered, as well as advantages and drawbacks of technical solutions used at Russian steel plants. In winter time during scrap metal heating at conveyers (Consteel process) hot gases penetrate not effectively into its mass, the heat is not enough for evaporation of wetness in the metal charge. At scrap heating by the furnace gases, a problem of dioxines emissions elimination arises. Application of shaft heaters results in high efficiency of scrap heating. However, under conditions of Russian winter the upper scrap layers are not always heated higher 0 °С and after getting into a furnace bath the upper scrap layers cause periodical vapor explosions. The shaft heaters create optimal conditions for dioxines formation, which emit into atmosphere. It was shown, that accounting Russian economic and nature conditions, the metal charge drying and heating in modified charging buckets by the heat of burnt natural gas or other additional fuel is optimal. The proposed technical solution enables to burnt off organic impurities ecologically safely, to melt down ice, to evaporate the wetness in the scrap as well as to heat the charge as enough as the charging logistics enables it. The method was implemented at several Russian steel plants. Technical and economical indices of scrap metal drying in buckets under conditions of EAF-based shop, containing two furnaces ДСП-100, presented.

The article presents the results of the rating of Russian economic journals, the methodology of which is based on a combination of bibliometric data and expert interviews. Processing of the statistical information system of Russian science citation index (RINC) allows us to form a “primary” list of the best journals in the country. Expert evaluation of the list makes it possible to reorganize it with regard to the scientific level of periodicals and get the “secondary” list. The merger of two ranking systems forms the basis of obtaining the final ranking of economic journals. It is shown that the leading part of the constructed rating forms a kind of the Diamond List of journals, which on the whole agrees with similar lists obtained in earlier studies by other authors.
