Various history books as media to learn the history of Indonesia people are actually quite complete and adequate. However, the interest of younger generation, especially the children, to read the books is quite low. Additionally, the advance of computer technology makes kids and students more interested playing game than reading books. The game trend backgrounds the need for research on the use of computer game application as a medium to learn the history of the building through a game. As the special purpose of this research is to obtain a game application that can be a medium of learning historical buildings. The research is divided into two stages: the first stage is to identify gaming software that can be used as an educational game for historical buildings and to develop the model of 3D gaming applications; the second phase is the application trial and implementation at schools.

This paper briefly and through theoretical studies will discuss simply the problems formulated, the impact of globalization on Character education in Indonesia, as well as the paradigm of PKN learning and Character education challenges for the younger generation. It is on the ground by the declining awareness and moral values, as well as to increase the values of the characters seen in the young generations. Civic education in Indonesia has been running throughout the history of Indonesian independence, and has gone through various stages and arms, it certainly demands greater hard work of teachers to be able to increase the values of Pancasila and love of the homeland, and practice the character values which is based on the noble values of Indonesian culture into Indonesian youth.

AbstractThe effectiveness of a TiN capping layer to prevent the conversion of α-titantium to titanium nitride when annealed in a nitrogen ambient has been studied over the temperature range 300–700°C using in-situ high temperature diffraction and transmission electron microscopy. Over the time range of interest (four hours), no evidence of Ti reaction was observed at 300°C. At 450°C. nitrogen was found to diffuse into the Ti to form a Ti(N) solid solution. Above 500°C the titanium is transformed to a second phase: however this reaction follows two different kinetic paths, depending on the annealing temperature. Below 600°C. the reaction proceeds in two stages, with the first stage consisting of Ti(N) formation, and the second stage consisting of the conversion of the Ti(N) with a transformation mechanism characteristic of short range diffusion (grain edge nucleation). Above 600°C, a simple linear transformation rate is observed.

Elevated plasma FFA cause β-cell lipotoxicity and impair insulin secretion in nondiabetic subjects predisposed to type 2 diabetes mellitus [T2DM; i.e., with a strong family history of T2DM (FH+)] but not in nondiabetic subjects without a family history of T2DM. To determine whether lowering plasma FFA with acipimox, an antilipolytic nicotinic acid derivative, may enhance insulin secretion, nine FH+ volunteers were admitted twice and received in random order either acipimox or placebo (double-blind) for 48 h. Plasma glucose/insulin/C-peptide concentrations were measured from 0800 to 2400. On day 3, insulin secretion rates (ISRs) were assessed during a +125 mg/dl hyperglycemic clamp. Acipimox reduced 48-h plasma FFA by 36% ( P < 0.001) and increased the plasma C-peptide relative to the plasma glucose concentration or ΔC-peptide/Δglucose AUC (+177%, P = 0.02), an index of improved β-cell function. Acipimox improved insulin sensitivity (M/I) 26.1 ± 5% ( P < 0.04). First- (+19 ± 6%, P = 0.1) and second-phase (+31 ± 6%, P = 0.05) ISRs during the hyperglycemic clamp also improved. This was particularly evident when examined relative to the prevailing insulin resistance [1/(M/I)], as both first- and second-phase ISR markedly increased by 29 ± 7 ( P < 0.05) and 41 ± 8% ( P = 0.02). There was an inverse correlation between fasting FFA and first-phase ISR ( r2 = 0.31, P < 0.02) and acute (2–4 min) glucose-induced insulin release after acipimox ( r2 =0.52, P < 0.04). In this proof-of-concept study in FH+ individuals predisposed to T2DM, a 48-h reduction of plasma FFA improves day-long meal and glucose-stimulated insulin secretion. These results provide additional evidence for the important role that plasma FFA play regarding insulin secretion in FH+ subjects predisposed to T2DM.

AbstractThe crystalch emistry and crystal structure of naturalky anite crystals from the Eclogitic Micaschists Complex of the Sesia-Lanzo Zone, Western Italian Alps, have been investigated by means of optical microscopy, wavelength dispersive X-ray microanalysis, and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The association of kyanite + garnet + phengitic-mica + chloritoid suggests that the eclogite-facies stages occurred at P ≤ 2.1 GPa and T ≤ 650ºC. Kyanite grains are large (cm-sized) porphyroblasts grown dynamically during one of the deformational events related to the subduction of the Austroalpine continentalcr ust. Under the polarizing microscope, kyanite grains show almost homogeneous cores, whereas rims are sometimes symplectitic aggregates of quartz and kyanite, confirming at least two stages of growth most likely related to the multistage deformational history of these rocks. Chemical analysis shows that Fe3+ is the major substituting cation for Al3+, ranging between 0.038 and 0.067 a.p.f.u.The single-crystal X-ray diffraction investigation of the kyanites shows severely textured patterns on the (h0l)*-plane. Such evidence is not observed in the unwarped diffraction patterns on (0kl)* and (hk0)*. The most significant difference between the structuralp arameters refined in this study, with respect to those of previously published unstrained gem-quality crystals, concerns the displacement parameters. The anisotropic displacement ellipsoids of all the atomic sites are significantly larger than those previously described, and systematically oriented with the largest elliptical section almost perpendicular to [010]. The larger ellipsoids in the kyanite crystal investigated here reflect the displacement of the centre of gravity of the electron distribution, rather than an anomalous atomic thermal motion. The magnitude and orientation of the displacement parameters and the textured/strained diffraction pattern may be the result of two combined effects: (1) that the kyanite crystals are actually composed of several blocks; (2) the crystals are affected by a pervasive residual strain, as a result of tectonometamorphic plastic deformations and re-crystallization.

1848 has gone down in history – or rather in history books – as the year when England was different. In that year a wave of revolution on the Continent overthrew constitutions, premiers and even a dynasty but in England, by contrast, the middle classes rallied round the government and helped it preserve the status quo. This interpretation of 1848 has long been the established orthodoxy amongst historians. Asa Briggs took this view thirty years ago and it has lately been endorsed by F. B. Smith and Henry Weisser. Most recently, John Saville, in his book on 1848, has concluded that events in England ‘demonstrated beyond question and doubt, the complete and solid support of the middling strata to the defence of existing institutions’. He claims that ‘the outstanding feature of 1848 was the mass response to the call for special constables to assist the professional forces of state security’ which reflected a closing of ranks among all property owners. Although some historians, notably David Goodway, have recently stressed the vitality of Chartism in 1848 they have not challenged the traditional view that the movement failed to win concessions from the establishment and soon declined. Thus 1848 in England is generally regarded as a terminal date: the last chapter in the history of Chartism as a major movement. Thereafter Britain experienced a period of conservatism – described by one historian as ‘the mid-Victorian calm’–which lasted until the death of Palmerston in 1865.

Integrated Ocean Drilling Program (IODP) Expedition 318, Wilkes Land Glacial History, drilled a transect of sites across the Wilkes Land margin of Antarctica to provide a long-term record of the sedimentary archives of Cenozoic Antarctic glaciation and its intimate relationships with global climatic and oceanographic change. The Wilkes Land drilling program was undertaken to constrain the age, nature, and paleoenvironment of the previously only seismically inferred glacial sequences. The expedition (January–March 2010) recovered ~2000 meters of high-quality middle Eocene–Holocene sediments from water depths between 400 m and 4000 m at four sites on the Wilkes Land rise (U1355, U1356, U1359, and U1361) and three sites on the Wilkes Land shelf (U1357, U1358, and U1360). <br><br> These records span ~53 million years of Antarctic history, and the various seismic units (WL-S4–WL-S9) have been successfully dated. The cores reveal the history of the Wilkes Land Antarctic margin from an ice-free “greenhouse” Antarctica, to the first cooling, to the onset and erosional consequences of the first glaciation and the subsequent dynamics of the waxing and waning ice sheets, all the way to thick, unprecedented "tree ring style" records with seasonal resolution of the last deglaciation that began ~10,000 y ago. The cores also reveal details of the tectonic history of the Australo-Antarctic Gulf from 53 Ma, portraying the onset of the second phase of rifting between Australia and Antarctica, to ever-subsiding margins and deepening, to the present continental and ever-widening ocean/continent configuration. <br><br> doi:<a href="http://dx.doi.org/10.2204/iodp.sd.12.02.2011" target="_blank">10.2204/iodp.sd.12.02.2011</a>

<em>Dengue is the leading cause of viral death worldwide. The vector Aedes aegypti mosquito is also responsible for Zika and Chincungunha transmission, another very compromising viral diseases. As the understanding of the vector life cycle and its habitat is important for preventing and fighting against these diseases, we propose to use a mathematic concept, graphos, and a problem-based situation (the removal of potential breeding sites for mosquitoes in the player city) to design a computational game that may help on spreading information and to stimulate a players proactive virtual and real behavior. Thus this paper describes the design and construction of an educational computer game called "Graphos against mosquitos," based on graphos, a mathematics theoretical concept. We designed the Graphos game using as the main elements: a child, twelve neighborhood blocks, mosquitoes, streets and containers where mosquitoes lay eggs (tires, cans, bottles, plants with water deposits). In the game, the player (Avatar) is the main element that should "walk in" the streets (edges) of the city, removing the potential breeding grounds for mosquitoes in each block (vertices). As this game is based on the mathematics theoretical concept graphos using two dimensions, the city has two distinct vertices that are the beginning and end of it, which discriminate the beginning and end of the game. The player should remove all containers of each street, avoiding mosquitoes growth and passing only one time for each of them. As containers are removed, the player gains points and is prevented to return to the previous street. In this game the removal of all containers that pose risk of becoming mosquito breeding sites, without coming back to the previous street but only forward, is translatable into " graphos language". When finishing the game properly, it opens a final screen where the player is awarded with a medal. On this screen, the player can write his/her name, being invited to act as a "health worker" no longer in virtual form, but in the real life. Through teaching by using computational material ruled by mathematical concepts such as graphos, we hope to stimulate and contribute for fighting and controlling the vector of these serious viral diseases.</em>

XX в. The historiographic analysis of the development of the concept of large social groups and historical and psychological study of social phenomena associated with mass social phenomena was presented. Topical problems of the psychology of large social groups are formulated, including heterogeneity of the grounds for their isolation, insufficient differentiation with similar concepts, uneven research in various periods, and ideological loading of the history of its development. The study's main problem was the need to replenish the processes in such groups that took place in various historical periods of social psychology development as well as a synthesis of this holistic picture at the level of modern understanding and the formulation of promising areas of research. The study's purpose was to establish a connection between the definition and the basic properties of the concept of "large social groups" (and its synonyms, analogs) and the peculiarities of the social situation in a certain period, as well as the reconstruction of social processes of this historical segment. The hypothesis was tested that large social groups as phenomena of social life were formed under the past time. The concept and its properties were corresponding to them, on the one hand, compared to the level of development of humanitarian knowledge. On the other, they tried to satisfy the social and political requests to understand and manage the social situation. Methods of the historiography of the history of social psychology and psychological and historical reconstruction were used. The article's first part was devoted to the analysis of the early two stages of the development of social psychology - from the middle of the XIX to the beginning of the XX centuries and 1920 of the XX century.

The paper examines the crisis of content verbality in the Internet discourse, its active visualization associated with new discoveries in the field of computer technology. The aim of the work is to give a multi-aspect characterization of this phenomenon and outline the prospects of its influence on the speech-thinking activity of the younger generation, which makes up the majority of users of social networks. The relevance of this issue is due to the concern of the philological community that the world is becoming less and less linguistic. The novelty lies in the fact that for the first time Internet discourse is considered in the context of the crisis of content verbality. At such a rate of visualization of media texts, it is likely that the crisis of verbality will aggravate, the consequences of which can negatively affect the thinking activity of the younger generation, which is possible only with high linguistic competence.

Along with the times, the Kemayoran area changed its function to become an office area, so that the history of Kemayoran is increasingly eroded. However, we cannot refuse the current of the times, especially the Kemayoran area, which has the potential to become a Central Business District (CBD). After searching the data by conducting interviews and surveys in the Kemayoran area and reviewing the literature, the urban acupuncture theory is used to answer the phenomenon that occurs, namely an aircraft history gallery and the additional function of the rental office will be used as an educational tourist spot where people can see various collections of aircraft from the Dutch, Japanese and Indonesian colonial times, and to fulfill Kemayoran's function as a CBD area. This building has a design concept taken from Bernoulli's law which is the movement of air as it passes through the wings of an aircraft and has a theme of aerospace. This gallery and rental office will be supported by programs such as movie showrooms, libraries, airplane exhibition rooms with a scale of 1:1, and workshops. With this building, it is hoped that the history of Kemayoran can be widely known by all circles and become a means of education, especially for the younger generation. Keywords: Airplane; Bernoulli; Gallery; Rental Office; Urban AcupunctureABSTRAKSeiring perkembangan zaman, daerah Kemayoran berubah fungsi menjadi daerah perkantoran, sehingga sejarah Kemayoran semakin lama semakin tergerus.
