The recent rise of the Shared Value (SV) concept justifies the debate about its possible conceptual developments. The objective of this article is to analyze the conceptual evolution of the SV showing its approaches from strategy, corporate social responsibility (CSR) and stakeholders. The methodology used for research consists of a systematic review of the literature, using as input for the classification of articles, the graphs theory and a bibliometric analysis through the Tree of Science (ToS) tool. The analysis focuses on the evolution of the concept of SV (start, development and trends) observing the maintenance of the original approaches and new trends in concept application. It is concluded that although the origin of the SV does not yet have a defined consensus, there are some coincident characteristics for its application, such as: creation of mutual value, integration of economic and social value and the generation of positive impacts on stakeholders.

Important supply bases for buyers are those that emphasize minority-owned businesses. The increased focus on globalization, corporate social responsibility, supplier diversity, and additional benefits has established a need for buyers to develop sustainable relationships with minority-owned firms. Based on a review of the literature, and interviews with a minority supplier director, minority suppliers, and a purchasing manager, this chapter examines the relationship constructs that are important to buyer-minority-owned supplier relationships. Trust, perception of buyer’s commitment, and minority-owned supplier commitment is explored. Research propositions, implications, and directions for further research are offered.

Corporate social responsibility implies business with concern for ethics, human rights, community needs, and investment in environmental protection. It is especially evident in crisis situations when the expectations of the environment about the application of these principles of the company are higher. The Covid-19 pandemic, as a crisis situation in which companies found themselves, led to changes in business models that had an impact on their stakeholders as well. In this segment, corporate social responsibility can be a useful and effective way to mitigate the potential effects of a pandemic and make it easier to deal with the consequences of a crisis. The aim of this paper is to provide a theoretical framework for the study of corporate social responsibility in crisis situations with special reference to the situation related to Covid-19. For this purpose, the research methodology includes a review of the literature on corporate social responsibility in this situation by classification into external (community, customer, and environment) and internal (employees) dimensions of the application of corporate social responsibility. The paper highlights the problems and challenges associated with corporate social responsibility in the Covid-19 pandemic and suggests further research opportunities in this area.

Green and sustainable finance, corporate social responsibility and financial and non-financial performance are attracting widespread interest due to the challenging times that the business environment is currently facing. Moreover, green and sustainable finance, corporate social responsibility, and intellectual and human capital have become central issues in measuring organizations’ success, competitive advantage and influence on the marketplace. This scientific paper seeks to address the relationship between corporate social responsibility, intellectual capital and performance, providing valuable insights and relevant evidence from a Romanian business environment. The questionnaire method was used for the targeted research objectives, which referred to: (a) Romanian organizations and local community understanding of green and sustainable finance, corporate social responsibility and intellectual capital; (b) corporate social responsibility actions taken by Romanian organizations and the local community; (c) main drivers of corporate social responsibility and intellectual capital in Romanian organizations; and (d) ways to enhance financial and non-financial performance of Romanian organizations with the aid of corporate social responsibility and intellectual capital. The findings support the idea of a strong relationship between corporate social responsibility, intellectual capital and performance in the Romanian business environment. Our work shows that, broadly speaking, Romanian entities operate on a socially responsible level, being aware of the importance and the advantages brought by both corporate social responsibility and intellectual capital when it comes to enhancing profit, productivity and performance. Our results are highly encouraging and may be validated by a larger sample size.

Purpose – The purpose of this study is to examine the concept of corporate social responsibility (CSR) and explore its connection to Islamic marketing with the view of providing the basis for an integrated framework of the two which corporations could use to market worldwide and not only to Islamic consumers. Furthermore, the study explores the connection between CSR and Islamic marketing using the tenets of the Qur'an. Design/methodology/approach – The study critically reviews the literature on CSR and links it to the Qur'anic teachings. Findings – The study concludes that Islamic marketing will be richer in scholarship and practice if dialogue is established, and areas of commonality between Islamic marketing and CSR are explored. Research limitations/implications – This is a theoretical paper that needs to be empirically validated in further studies. Practical implications – The study has several practical implications on how corporations, entrepreneurs and the marketing practitioner could conduct transactions that are consistent with the principles of CSR and the Qur'an. Originality/value – The study is creative and uses original arguments based on the review of the literature and the Qur'an.
