The objectives of this study were to examine the effects of a horticultural activity program on the emotional intelligence, prosocial behavior, and scientific investigation abilities and attitudes of kindergarteners. A total of 336 children aged 5 to 7 years in public and private kindergartens and day care centers in Incheon, South Korea, participated in a 24-session horticultural activity program. This program included indoor and outdoor activities such as planting seeds, transplanting plants, making and applying eco-friendly fertilizer, watering, harvesting, using plants to make crafts, and cooking with produce. It was designed to improve the emotional intelligence, prosocial behavior, and scientific investigation abilities and attitudes of kindergarteners. Each session lasted an average of 50 minutes and was held once per week. The results of the study showed that the 24-session horticultural activity program improved the emotional intelligence, prosocial behavior, and scientific investigation abilities and attitudes of the children (P < 0.05). Satisfaction with the program was very high among both the children and their teachers and parents. Future studies should consider exploring the effects of horticultural activity programs on children in different age groups.

Study Design: Cross-sectional study. Objective: To provide the age- and pelvic incidence-related variations of sagittal alignment in asymptomatic Chinese population. Methods: This study recruited asymptomatic adult subjects. All subjects undertook the standing whole spinal radiograph and the sagittal parameters were measured: sagittal vertical axis (SVA), T1 pelvic angle (TPA), lumbar lordosis (LL), thoracic kyphosis (TK), pelvic incidence (PI) and pelvic tilt (PT). All subjects were divided into young, middle aged and elderly groups, then each age group was further divided into 5 subgroups (very low, low, average, high and very high) based on PI values. The relations between PI, age and other parameters were evaluated. The differences in sagittal parameters of each PI subgroup were compared. Results: 546 subjects were included with an average age of 38.6 years (18 to 81). The number of subjects over 70 years and with very low PI was relatively small. The average of PI, TPA, PT and LL were 45.9° ± 8.4°, 6.4° ± 6.2°, 11.9° ± 6.6° and 49.2° ± 10.1°, respectively. SVA, TPA, TK and PT increased with age ( P < 0.05), while SVA, TPA, PT, PI-LL also increased with PI ( P < 0.05). LL, PT, TPA, PI-LL and LL-TK were different among the 5 PI subgroups ( P < 0.05). However, the values of LL in elderly subjects with high and very high PI were similar. Conclusion: The age- and PI-related variations in sagittal alignment of Chinese population were provided. The sagittal parameters were significantly influenced by age and PI. The individual pelvic morphology should be carefully considered during the assessment and restoration of sagittal balance.

The process of development in preschool and primary school age implies the expansion of contacts with the social environment and, accordingly, the opportunities for full and diverse communication. There are new real and virtual models, in addition to parents, for imitation and identification, the process of social learning is developing in terms of attempts to model social relationships. The game-cognitive situations for stimulating prosocial behavior (behavior aimed at external observance of social norms) presented and tested in the educational process in the kindergarten are a consequence of a study of the life values and educational orientations of the modern Bulgarian family, as well as the notions of 5–7-year-old children about the needs and claims between children, teachers and parents, their ideas of good and evil, likes and dislikes of peers. They can also be realized in the system of the primary level of primary education in the classroom.

Urinary schistosomiasis is a severe threat to global health with uncountable morbidities in Africa including Nigeria where control interventions focused on children in public and private schools neglecting Almajiri children. This undermined control interventions as those infected contaminate the environments with infective stages of the parasite. The objective of the study was to identify the prevalence of urinary schistosomiasis amongst Almajiri children in Silame, Sokoto State, North-western Nigeria. This was a cross-sectional descriptive study, socio-demographic data was collected in April 2020 on 206 consented Almajiri children in Silame and their urine samples were examined using the sedimentation method. The study showed a prevalence of 35.4% among the Almajiri children in Silame, Sokoto State, North-western Nigeria. The highest prevalence was found among children within the age range 16-20 years (63.6%) while the lowest prevalence was among those in the age range 6-10 years (24.4%). There was a statistically significant difference in the occurrence of urinary schistosomiasis between the age groups (χ 2 = 11.637a , df =3, p=0.002). Urinary schistosomiasis was prevalent among Almajiri children in the study area and parasite infection was associated with the participant's socio-demographic factors such as age, level of education, and water contact activities. Abstract Objectives: to estimate the prevalence of cesarean sections and factors associated to the type of childbirth in Brazil. Methods: data on childbirths were collected in Brazil in 2014. Demographic characteristics, related to pregnancy and birth hospital regime (public or private) were evaluation. For each hypothesis raised, the variables were modeled by the binary logistic regression, which the outcome was considered in the type of childbirth. Results: the prevalence of the cesarean sections in Brazil in 2014 was 52.8%; that is 38.1% at public hospitals and 92.8% at private ones. The association between cesarean section and the legal regime at the hospital was highlighted in the logistic model which presented a positive association and interaction between age groups (OR = 23.26; 95% CI= 13.39 - 41.79 for women between 20 and 24 years old and OR = 51.04; 95% CI 31.06 - 84.23 for women aged 35 and over). Conclusions: the performance of childbirth in Brazil meets the routines and recommendations regarding women's health and humanized childbirth established by the Brazilian National Health System policies.

The present study aims to investigate dynamic connection between transformational leadership and employee’s performance (Task performance and OCB) with mediating Perception Emotional intelligence (EI) in Higher Education Institutions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The relationship between the variables of the current model is based upon different theories i.e. Vroom (1964) Expectancy Theory, LME Theory (Graen, 1976) Wang et al., (2005), as well as Social Exchange Theory proposed by (Blau,1964). Data was obtaining from public and private sector universities and through purposive sampling in dyads. Response obtain were analyze through rigorous statistical procedures i.e. CFA via AMOS in first phase, followed by bootstrapping and mediation through Preacher and Hayes (2008) SPSS macros. Findings indicate that both emotional intelligence and perception of organization politics act as a stronger role in enhancing the association between organizational citizenship behavior and transformational Leadership

Abstract.Emotional intelligence is a set of skills that enable the individual to manage their own emotions and those of others, making it easier to achieve established objectives and create wellbeing at organizational, academic and personal level. Job satisfaction is a positive emotional assessment of work experience that is related to the productivity and well-being. In this regard, the aim of this study was to analyze to what extent emotional intelligence can increase job satisfaction. To achieve this goal are counted with a mixed sample of 377 workers (M = 172, F= 205) in public and private companies of Portugal, that answered a questionnaire previously validated by other authors, which mediates the three main variables of study: emotional intelligence, organizational stress and job satisfaction. The results obtained through the Pearson correlation tested the hypotheses in the expected direction with significant negative correlation between emotional intelligence and organizational stress and a significant positive correlation between emotional intelligence and job satisfaction. Emotional intelligence workers anticipated job satisfaction R multiple = .332, R2 = .111, F (6, 370) = 7.66, p <.001, the most significant variables as predictors of emotional intelligence, Auto - courage (? = .184, p = .001), and Empathy and emotional contagion (? =.141, p = .016).Keywords: Emotional Intelligence and Job Satisfaction.Resumen.La inteligencia emocional consiste en un conjunto de habilidades que permiten al individuo manejar sus propias emociones y las de los demás, por lo que es más fácil alcanzar los objetivos establecidos y crear bienestar a nivel organizacional, académico y personal. La satisfacción laboral representa una valoración emocional positiva sobre la experiencia de trabajo, que está relacionado con la productividad y el bienestar. En este sentido, el objetivo de este estudio es analizar hasta qué punto la inteligencia emocional puede aumentar la satisfacción laboral. Para llevar a cabo este objetivo se contó con una muestra mixta de 377 trabajadores (M = 172, F = 205) de empresas públicas y privadas de Portugal, que respondieron a un cuestionario previamente validado por otros autores, que medía las dos variables principales de este estudio: inteligencia emocional y satisfacción laboral. Among children less than 12 years of age residing in Dallas County, Texas, and in the state of Minnesota we conducted prospective, active surveillance of invasive Haemophilus influenzae disease. During 18 months, 616 cases were identified, of which 600 were caused by type b organisms. The annual incidence of disease was significantly greater in Dallas than in Minnesota (109 v 68/100,000 children younger than 5 years of age, P &lt; .001) and was greater in Dallas, even when rates for white children in the two regions were compared (P &lt; .001). Other regional differences were observed. In Dallas, a larger proportion of cases were in children attending day-care centers (27% compared with 12% in Minnesota, P &lt; .001) and more patients attended day care for greater than 40 h/wk (56% compared with 30% in Minnesota, P &lt; .001). Outer membrane protein subtyping of isolates revealed that in Dallas 6U isolates were associated significantly with cases in black children who attended day care. In Minnesota, but not in Dallas, isolates with subtype 1H were associated significantly with cases in children in day care. These data indicate that there are regional differences in the epidemiology of type b Haemophilus disease that may relate to differences in strains, day-care practices, or other unknown cultural or environmental factors. Finally, because only 15% of systemic Haemophilus disease in these regions occurred in children in the age groups recommended for vaccination (24 to 59 months), the new Haemophilus type b polysaccharide vaccine is expected to have a limited impact on the overall incidence of disease.

This chapter analyzes the discourse of civility—which goes under the name of “niceness” in elementary schools—as it appears in kids’ letters to Trump during the campaign and immediately following the election. In this version of the emotional intelligence paradigm, teachers and parents advocate writing letters as an exercise to help kids process and name their emotions in a manner that makes them feel like they can do something within the system. These “proper” modes of expression inevitably involve conforming to standards and rules and bodily comportment. The chapter then turns to examples of kids’ artwork from three locations in which teachers gave kids the opportunity to say and especially draw whatever they wanted; in these cultural productions, there is a much greater affective range, illustrating feelings of anger, fear, and hatred in a manner that does not adhere to the discourse of niceness.

Belgium is a small country in northwestern Europe, with a population of 11.4 million people. The country has a very high level of urbanization; up to 97% of the population lives in cities and towns. About 10% of GDP is spent annually on the development of healthcare, which, technically, corresponds to the average European indicators. Based on the results of work in 2018, the Belgian medical care delivery system was recognized as the “most generous healthcare system in Europe”, however, it was rated much lower in terms of quality than the countries that took first places in the ranking. The country has a public and private healthcare system, and both of them are paid. 99% of the population is covered by medical insurance, and children under the age of 18 are covered by parental insurance. All officially employed Belgians and self-employed persons operating in the country must be registered and make contributions to the Belgian Health Insurance Fund. The amount of the monthly contribution to the Health Insurance Fund is fixed, it amounts to 7.35% of the salary.
