A model, based on induced reorientation of PEDOT:PSS chains due to electric field interaction with electric dipoles of the chains, has been proposed to explain observed resistivity switching and anisotropic in-plane conductivity in PEDOT:PSS films.

AbstractThin films of [111] oriented CdTe have been MOCVD grown onto [111] GaAs substrates. When thicknesses exceed 1000Å the epitaxy is quite good (backscattering minimum yield of approximately 15%) in spite of a 14% lattice mismatch. A narrowing of the Cd angular scan suggests a displacement of some of the Cd atoms in the lattice. A model based on a Te vacancy is presented to describe the data.

In the present work we discuss a theoretical model based on the classical electromagnetism, which determines the reflectance and transmittance of multi-layer thin films used as transparent heat mirrors. For normal light incidence the calculations have pointed out, that the most suitable combination, in order to obtain optima heat mirror properties, is the silver film (18 nm thickness) sandwiched between two layers of titanium dioxide (18 nm thickness). We found that the reflectivity in the infrared is about 98% and the visible transmission is approximately 85%.

In order to predict the fatigue life of matrix-dominated polymer composites, a new model based on stiffness degradation concept was proposed. The effect of off-axis was considered by defining a non-dimensional modified stress level, and the expression of fatigue stress limit could be provided in the new model. Based on the fatigue tension-tension experiment of PI/SiO2 hybrid thin films under different stress levels, the simulated results was confirmed to be well agreeable with the experimental data.
