Global competition between companies is becoming increasingly stringent, resulting in companies having to understand their customers better. Customers no longer only need quality products, but also need excellent and timely service. To meet the desires of these consumers, the company must create an effective and efficient work system. PT IJS is a warehouse engaged in logistics services in the Perak area of Surabaya. One of the services provided by PT IJS is bonded warehouse logistic services. A bounded warehouse owned is currently not able to provide maximum service because there are still many late deliveries that do not send goods to the port, and there is a closing time that is detrimental to the customer. The length of the delivery process is due to several factors, one of which is a less effective warehouse layout. Travel time is the time required for a vehicle to carry out activities loading goods PT. IJS from arrival to exit the warehouse. The method weighted distance is a mathematical model used to evaluate the layout based on proximity factors. The design of the layout design by using the technique weighted distance produces an alternative layout that shows calculation travel time a shorter

Hard and crunchy are specific characteristics of fried product prefered by consumer. To have texture of crunchy productbeing suitable with consumer taste, it is necessary to observ characteristic change of raw material and frying condition. Infrying process, the changes of hardness and crunchiness characteristics of food occur. These changes are predicted caused by free water vaporization and the decrease of starch content in food. The objective of this research is to develop mathematical model of hardness and crunchiness changes as the function of water and extract content degradation. Sample of the research is jack fruit fried in the temperature of 70–100° C, duration of 15–60 minutes, and pressure of 80–90 kPa. The parameters observed are hardness and crunchiness, water and starch content before and after frying. The result showed that hardness and crunciness change as the function of water vaporization and the decrease of starch content can be used to predict hardness and crunciness of product during vacuum frying.

The mathematical model to predict the temperature history for wood column is needed in order to determine its fire resistance when exposed to fire. In this paper, an intelligent methodology called Finite Element Method (FEM) of performing analysis for the square and circular wood columns by virtually or artificially developing a temperature history mathematical model. Numerical simulation model has been developed for the wood column by using two-dimensional mathematical model. The two-dimensional mathematical model was developed by using Galerkin’s Weighted Residual technique. This model focuses on the regional material of the wood column for describing its thermal behavior. When the temperature history in a column and relevant materials properties are known, the strength of the column can be calculated at any time during fire. Therefore, the development of the temperature history mathematical model is a must before any further study to be carried out for the wood columns. The flow of convection will result in minimal increase in the rate of heat energy reaching the column core. The analysis shows that the temperature of the column increases with respect to the duration of exposure to fire.

The main issue in Putrajaya’s bus services is related to time and cost. Optimal travel time require optimal routes and shortest distance. Minimizing travel time means minimizing operational cost. This paper reviews and evaluates the density of passengers and maximum number of passengers as parameters to obtain an optimum route. The mathematical model was utilized to analyze the passenger density with the improvements of the constraint to the number of passengers. The study based on data from intra-city bus services during off-peak hours. The main focus of this optimization is to compare the passenger density and the number of passengers as the parameters in decision making for bus routes. The result shows that the passenger density is better than the number passengers to assess bus routes.

When selecting the compositions and studying the properties of the activated mineral powders based on superacid fly ash, mineral and organic activating agents, the computer modelling was performed. The activated mineral powders compositions corresponding to the properties of GOST 32761 2014 requirements to the MP-1 activated mineral powders of carbonate rocks were selected using the experiment mathematical planning method. When processing the experimental data for obtaining the adequate mathematical model, optimizing the compositions and constructing the graphical dependencies, the Maple package was used. The software for the personal computer including the algorithm and se-lection program of the activated mineral powders compositions was developed. The software makes it possible to automate the calculation of the activated mineral powders formulas with the specified technical properties.

In some countries it is fairly common to see two roads with the same origin and destination competing in the same corridor. One of them is usually a toll highway that offers a better quality to the users compared to its alternative: a free parallel single road, which might be tolled as well. This kind of transport network has been largely studied in the academic literature and particularly the optimal combination of tolls that maximizes economic efficiency. If both roads are tolled the problem is known as the first best, otherwise it is called the “untolled alternative”. There is a gap regarding how income distribution affects the optimal toll. The main objective of this paper is to add knowledge in the area by analysing the influence of the distribution of the Values of Travel Time (VTT) of the users of this corridor on the optimal combination of tolls. To solve this problem, the authors define a mathematical model aimed at obtaining the optimal welfare price for this kind of corridor under the hypothesis that drivers decide over the expectation of free flow conditions. The results show that the higher the average VTT the higher the optimal price, and the higher the dispersion (variance) of this VTT the lower the optimal price. It was also found that low income users who are not able to internalize externalities should not travel. Finally, first best pricing and untolled alternative schemes match for high income users
