The transforming of ownership relations of tourism companies has created the presumptions for new property relations and development of business and management as the most secure way towards the healing of the tourism industry. This article analyzes the processes of ownership transforming and privatisation of Istrian hospitality and tourism enterprises, main limitations which influence the direction and success of privatisation, and also give propositions and possible solutions of this complex problem. The long-termed meaning of this process is characterized in the structural change of the tourism offer, business, management, technic-technological structure, marketing and a new development cycle.

The purpose of this chapter is to reveal women top-level managers' gender awareness in relation to two aspects: 1) perceptions of discrimination and 2) views of what could be done towards gender equality (by the state, organizations, and women themselves), so that more women can advance their careers. Women top-level managers in the Portuguese tourism sector were interviewed. The interview data suggests that discrimination might still be pervasive in the Portuguese tourism industry. However, many women do not perceive it as “real” discrimination and have contradictory discourses about it. Informants were also asked what could be done so that more women advance in their careers. They place the solution to the problem of gender equality mostly in women's hands. While some of the strategies proposed by women confront the gender order, others align with the status quo by ensuring that women “fit in” without challenging existing structures.

The article researchers the process of public risk management and identifies that the tourism industry in each country presents an individual variety of recreational resources, which set it apart from others. That, the globalization of the tourism sector has launched a flywheel of world development. The tourism sector in the world GDP accounts for 10%, with an average annual growth of 4-5%. Each state, the tourism sector is among the priorities for development. The influence of the external and internal environment determines a constant response from the state through control mechanisms. The main element of the country's development is strategic planning with periods for implementation, including all spheres of the economy, as well as tourism. Strategic planning should contain factors that will negatively affect the development of the system in dynamics, namely risks. Risk management requires the use of separate tools in terms of probability of occurrence, prevention and response. The authorities directly implementing the state policy for the development of tourism, namely ministries, departments, for identifying and countering negative factors should deal with Monitoring and development of recommendations. The risks affecting the tourism sector can be divided into external and internal. Internal include: epidemiological, legal, infrastructural, environmental, natural, social, crisis political and economic. External risks are distinguished by their ability to geographically expand, which can develop into a crisis from internal ones, due to ineffective or deliberate actions on the part of a separate state, which has become the epicenter. States with a weak political and economic system in most cases are not able to resist the crisis phenomena that characterize the absence of an effective risk management policy. The global crisis is characterized by a chain reaction with unpredictable consequences, which can lead to global changes and conflicts. The global travel industry is very sensitive to environmental changes. That, the state should develop tools that are able to prevent and counteract the likely negative consequences. Strategic planning is an effective risk management mechanism. Public risk management precedes, or creates preconditions for countering the crisis.

Unfortunately, the coronavirus pandemic has made significant adjustments to the functioning of the tourism sector at all levels (global and regional). Indeed, the coronavirus pandemic, which began in China at the end of 2019 and spread throughout the world, has become the biggest challenge and threat to all countries since World War II. The article substantiates that this negatively affected the inbound and outbound tourism markets on a global scale. Thus, the uncertainty of the further development of the situation, the occurrence of obstacles to the normal implementation of travel, restrictions on movement, the concern of mankind to preserve their own health and safety have caused the crisis and an increase in the volume of losses of travel companies. The focus of the article is concentrated on the analysis of the negative consequences of the aggravation of the epidemic situation for the world economy. The authors emphasize that today there is no doubt about the need to activate the processes and measures to overcome the harmful effects of the pandemic on the tourism sector of the domestic economy. At present, tourism insurance is in high demand in Ukraine, as there has been a big tendency in recent years to increase the number of people traveling abroad. The reason for such growth in the tourism sector is primarily due to a change in the way of life of Ukrainian citizens, the adoption of a visa-free regime, adequate prices for rest and quality of service provision in comparison with domestic ones. The modern insurance market offers a large assortment of insurance products, which enables it to integrate with other sectors of the economy. Tourist activity in its economic nature is characterized by a high degree of riskiness, and therefore its effective functioning is impossible without insurance. All developed countries have long introduced insurance in the tourist market for the successful functioning of this industry and the state economy as a whole. The issue of insurance in tourism in the Ukrainian market is problematic, as it is characterized by low awareness and trust in the population, insufficient attention from the state authorities. Insurance and tourism are of great importance for the development of the economy. The growth of the dynamics of international tourist flows requires the strengthening of the quality requirements of tourist services and the existence of the insurance market. Insurance of tourism industry is a new type of insurance in Ukraine, the study and analysis of the problems of this type of insurance is not perfect and little studied by domestic scientists, in contrast to foreign ones. The tourism industry always has a certain danger to the life of both tourists and its employees. Natural disasters, accidents and other unforeseen events can affect the balanced activities of the tourist complex. After all, with the development of scientific and technological progress, the natural and industrial-economic cataclysms are not decreasing, but on the contrary increasing. In order to ensure the stable operation of travel companies and to ensure quality recreation for tourists in various areas of high risk, there are various risk management tools, one of which is insurance. Insurance as a component of the security system in the tourism industry helps to stabilize the activity of tourism enterprises and tour operator companies, as well as safety of tourist trips both in Ukraine and abroad.
