The present study aimed to investigate the effect of using the learning cycle strategy (5E's) on achievement and development of critical thinking skills in science among eighth grade students in Jordan. The study sample consisted of (53) female students who were intentionally selected from two divisions of the eighth grade class at the Al-Jubaiha Secondary School for Girls. 27) A female student, and an educational material was built in the living organisms unit and their environments from the science book for the eighth grade basic in the first semester, and an achievement test was built and a test for critical thinking was used. (5E's) in raising the level of achievement and developing critical thinking skills in science among female students.

This study aimed to identify the effect of a STEAM-based learning approach in teaching the educational robot's subject on academic achievement and creative thinking among eighth-grade students in Jordan. A purposive sample was selected and divided into two groups. An experimental group (n=30) implements a STEAM-based learning approach, whereas the control group (n=32) studied in a traditional method. A pre- posttest was administered, and the data were analyzed using statistical methods to validate the study results, such as "t" tests and a one-way ANOVA test. The results showed statistically significant differences between the experimental and control groups in academic achievement and creative thinking. In conclusion, the STEAM-based learning approach significantly improved the students' academic achievement and creative thinking skills.   Received: 13 October 2021 / Accepted: 2 December 2021 / Published: 3 January 2022

Abstract: Reflective thinking skills are thought to be an important factor affecting the success of problem solving both routine and non-routine science problems. This research aimed to determine the relationship between eighth-grade students’ reflective thinking skills toward problem-solving and their level of solving routine and non-routine science problems. Determining this relationship can form a basis for the decisions teachers make in courses and contribute to increasing teaching quality. A correlational and regressional research design was used in this study. A total of 408 eighth-grade students from four secondary schools in Kocaeli, Turkey constituted the sample group. The correlational results showed that, as the students’ reflective thinking towards problem solving scores increased, which were identified as questioning, reasoning and, evaluating, their level of solving routine and non-routine problems also increased. But multiple regressional results showed only the evaluation skill was a significant predictor in solving routine problems and only the reasoning skill was a significant predictor in solving non-routine problems. Therefore, students should also be equipped with reasoning skill such as examining the cause-and-effect relationships by investigating the reason behind the decisions made while solving a problem, to contribute to the solution of non-routine problems.

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of problem-based learning models on mathematical creative thinking abilities of eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 6 Lubuklinggau. This study used the True Experimental Design. In this study, the samples used were two classes, namely the control class and the experimental class. The average score of mathematical creative thinking skills that had been obtained by students in the final test in the experimental class was 19.5517 and in the control class was 14.4783. Both classes were normally distributed and homogeneous both at the pre-test and the post-test. The data collection was analyzed by using the t-test. The results of the t-test analysis were t-value = 2.5400 and t-table (significance level α= 0.05) = 2.001. This showed that t-value> t-table, so it can be concluded that there is a significant effect of problem-based learning models on mathematical creative thinking abilities of eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 6 Lubuklinggau. KeyWord: Problem-based, creative mathematical learning model

The aim of this study was to examine the domain-general CT skills of 8th grade students in Turkey. In the study, first, the domain-general CT scale was adapted to Turkish and then, the CT skills of the students were examined. This survey research was conducted with the 284 eighth grade students. The data were analyzed through confirmatory factor analysis, independent sample t-test and Pearson correlation test. The results of the validity and reliability tests showed that the domain-general CT scale was suitable for Turkish culture. T-test results showed no significant difference in the CT skills of the students according to gender, having a computer and internet access at home. A statistically significant difference in algorithm, evaluation, generalization, and general CT skills was found between students who learned programming and those who did not in favor of students learning programming. Correlational tests revealed that there was a positive and significant relationship between the programming experience of students who learn programming and their CT skills. As students' programming experience increased, their CT skills also increased. The results of the research were discussed, and recommendations for policy-makers and implementers were included.

This study aims to know the influence of active learning model Course Review Horay to biology learning outcomes at eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 10 Batam academic year 2013/2014. This research design is  randomized experiment using posttest only control-group design. The study population is all the eighth grade students of  SMP Negeri 10 Batam with reached population consist of 7 classes. The sampling technique using a simple random sampling. Samples were selected class VIII5 as control class and VIII8 as experiment class. The instrument  that use in this research is the form of the test. Requirement have been in the form of normality and homogeneity test, which showed that normal and homogeneous data. Technique of data analysis conducted by the t test. The result analysis of data using the t test showed the tvalue 3.01 and ttable is 2.00 (tvalue > ttable). The results showed that the active learning result model Course Review Horay give effect to increase student learning outcomes from the average of the experimental class 82,57 and control class 76,04. Thus, the hypothesis put forward acceptable significance level (α = 0.05). Thus, it can be concluded that the using of active learning model Course Review Horay influential on learning outcomes of biology at eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 10 Batam. Keywords: Course Review Horay, Biology Learning Outcomes.

This study aims to determine the effect of cooperative learning models and studentlearning styles on the results of learning Social Sciences. Conventional learning models thatrely on reading books, multiplying practice exercises, teacher explanations in the classroom, students are expected to be more diligent in practicing questions suspected of influencingsocial studies learning outcomes. Conventional models are considered to be less than optimal, because basically students will easily feel bored because they have to open sheets per sheetby understanding the contents of the book and listening to the teacher's explanation in frontof the class verbally. This study uses an experimental comparison method containing activities planned and carriedout by researchers, 2x2 factorial design in this study to find out whether there are differencesin social studies learning outcomes between students who obtain learning with cooperativelearning models and students who obtain conventional learning. The population in this studywere all eighth grade students of Al-Kamil Middle School Islamic Boarding School in CianjurRegency, West Java. Affordable population there are eighth grade students of Al-KamilMiddle School Islamic Boarding School District. Cianjur numbered 120 students. The resultsof this study indicate that there is an interaction effect between learning models and learningstyles on the results of social studies learning at Al-Kamil Middle School Islamic BoardingSchool. Learning outcomes of students who have independent learning styles and followcooperative learning models are higher than students' learning outcomes that followconventional learning models. Likewise the learning outcomes of students who havedependent learning styles and follow cooperative learning models are higher than students'learning outcomes that follow conventional learning models
