El escrito analiza cómo las políticas estatales provinciales configuraron nudos territoriales en la zona donde se ubica la comunidad Campo Maripe, al norte de Añelo, el corazón de la formación geológica Vaca Muerta. Se sostiene que estas políticas diseñaron los espacios impulsando territorialidades asociadas a determinadas actividades económicas y trajeron como consecuencia la desterritorialización indígena. La comunidad Campo Maripe, cuyo territorio actualmente se superpone parcialmente con el yacimiento hidrocarburífero Loma Campana -uno de los tres más relevantes en la extracción por métodos no convencionales-, ha sido seleccionada como caso de estudio en función de la notoriedad de sus estrategias de resistencia durante los últimos años. Se utilizan fuentes escritas y orales para caracterizar el complejo panorama de la superposición de territorialidades a partir de las políticas provinciales y el desarrollo de dinámicas específicas en las interacciones de los diferentes actores dentro de los nudos territoriales. The paper analyses how Neuquen’s state policies configured territorial knots in the area where the mapuce community Campo Maripe is located, in northern Añelo, the core of the Vaca Muerta geological formation. It is argued that these policies designed spaces boosting certain economic activities and their associated territorialities and brought indigenous deterritorialization as a consequence. The Mapuce community Campo Maripe, whose territory currently partially overlaps with the Loma Campana oil field -one of the three most important fields in the extraction of hydrocarbons by non-conventional methods-, has been selected as a case study due to how notorious its resistance strategies have become over the last few years. Written documents and oral testimonies are used to characterize the complex scenario of territorial overlapping caused by state policies and the development of specific interactions between the different actors within the territorial knots.

AbstractScholarship on lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) politics argues that political claims, such as access to the military and marriage, are most effective when representatives from the group articulate that the desire for inclusion and participation in those institutions is similar to the desires held by their straight and nontransgender counterparts. This strategy of assimilation has yielded many positive legal changes. And yet the Donald Trump administration marks a period in which these gains have been repeatedly challenged and particular segments of the LGBTQ group are increasingly under attack. This article offers a preliminary analysis of how LGBTQ politics has been impacted by the 2016 election. Using a historical case study of LGBTQ identity construction and agenda development during the second half of the 1990s, I ask: how might the LGBTQ group mine its recent history for clues to rethink its political agenda and political strategies? Having shown that opportunities to advance a different movement—one focused on more radical, broadly inclusive changes—were bypassed during this period, I conclude by putting forward several recommendations for contemporary LGBTQ movement building and resistance strategies.

In the multicriteria strategic planning of an organization, management should often be aware of employees' resistance to change before making new decisions; otherwise, a chosen strategy, though technologically acceptable, may not be efficient in the long term. This paper, using a sample case study within an organization, shows how different versions of ELECTRE methods can be used in choosing efficient strategies that account for both human behavioral resistance and technical elements. The effect of resistance from each subsystem of the organization is studied to ensure the reliability of the chosen strategy. The comparison of results from a select number of compensatory and noncompensatory models (ELECTRE I, III, IV, IS; TOPSIS; SAW; MaxMin) suggests that when employee resistance is a decision factor in the multicriteria strategic planning problem, the models can yield low-resistance strategies; however, ELECTRE seems to show more reasonable sensitivity.

Parallel to the capitalist development processes, the nature and varieties of control regimes have been changed. The control has been sometimes conducted directly, sometimes indirectly. But the common point of each control mechanism is the complexity of different practices of management and what workers do with these practices. In the first years of capitalism, labour control regimes are generally simple and direct. Together with Taylorism, it has gained technical importance and now become more hegemonic. The aim of this study is to examine the labour control regimes and resistances of workers to these regimes through a case study. For this purpose, in-depth interviews were conducted with a total of 45 workers, one factory owner, one general manager, two department managers, two chiefs, one foreman, three subcontractor workshop owners in Denizli textile. The results show that workers develop very limited resistance, and the working conditions determine the resistance strategies of workers. The stress on remote working during the Covid-19 pandemic, to prevent the spread of the disease, has contributed to global economic uncertainty during 2020, and this has detrimentally impacted micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to a significant extent. This has an impact on economic instability and one of those affected is MSMEs. For this reason, a survival strategy is needed to enable MSMEs to survive. One potential option is to collaborate with online transport services. This study combines qualitative research methods with exploratory steps with participatory observation techniques. Using UKMK and Grab Food as a case study, this article proposes that MSMEs look to involve themselves in e-commerce, focusing on digital marketing and collaboration opportunities to establish and optimize customer relationships. AbstractUsing interviews with former militants and previously unpublished documents, this article traces the genesis and internal dynamics of the Ejército Revolucionario del Pueblo (People's Revolutionary Army, ERP) in El Salvador during the early years of its existence (1970–6). This period was marked by the inability of the ERP to maintain internal coherence or any consensus on revolutionary strategy, which led to a series of splits and internal fights over control of the organisation. The evidence marshalled in this case study sheds new light on the origins of the armed Salvadorean Left and thus contributes to a wider understanding of the processes of formation and internal dynamics of armed left-wing groups that emerged from the 1960s onwards in Latin America.

Abstract Culture shapes our basic sensory experience of the world. This is particularly striking in the study of religion and psychosis, where we and others have shown that cultural context determines both the structure and content of hallucination-like events. The cultural shaping of hallucinations may provide a rich case-study for linking cultural learning with emerging prediction-based models of perception.

Abstract Hoerl and McCormack demonstrate that although animals possess a sophisticated temporal updating system, there is no evidence that they also possess a temporal reasoning system. This important case study is directly related to the broader claim that although animals are manifestly capable of first-order (perceptually-based) relational reasoning, they lack the capacity for higher-order, role-based relational reasoning. We argue this distinction applies to all domains of cognition.

Abstract Sociocultural developmental psychology can drive new directions in gadgetry science. We use autobiographical memory, a compound capacity incorporating episodic memory, as a case study. Autobiographical memory emerges late in development, supported by interactions with parents. Intervention research highlights the causal influence of these interactions, whereas cross-cultural research demonstrates culturally determined diversity. Different patterns of inheritance are discussed.

Modern polishing, precision machining and microindentation techniques allow the processing and mechanical characterization of ceramics at nanometric scales and within entirely plastic deformation regimes. The mechanical response of most ceramics to such highly constrained contact is not predictable from macroscopic properties and the microstructural deformation patterns have proven difficult to characterize by the application of any individual technique. In this study, TEM techniques of contrast analysis and CBED are combined with stereographic analysis to construct a three-dimensional microstructure deformation map of the surface of a perfectly plastic microindentation on macroscopically brittle aluminum nitride.The bright field image in Figure 1 shows a lg Vickers microindentation contained within a single AlN grain far from any boundaries. High densities of dislocations are evident, particularly near facet edges but are not individually resolvable. The prominent bend contours also indicate the severity of plastic deformation. Figure 2 is a selected area diffraction pattern covering the entire indentation area.
