This paper aims at investigating the factors which influence instructors of primary and secondary education into using Web 2.0 based teaching techniques in their teaching now and in the future. Two hundred and fifty three teachers participated in a survey conducted with a quantitative research method followed by short interviews for clarification purposes in the research area. The results showed that both gender and teaching experience are factors that influence this attitude, whereas the type of school seems to have no influence on educators’ decision to employ such tools in their teaching practices.

Educational technology is achieving great potential in the formative processes of today’s society. Flipped learning is considered as a pedagogical innovation derived from the technological influence in learning spaces. The general objective of the research is to analyze the effectiveness of flipped learning on a traditional teaching and learning approach in the subject of Mathematics. To achieve this objective, an experimental design of a descriptive and correlational type has been followed through a quantitative research method. Two study groups have been set up. In the control group, the contents have been imparted from a traditional perspective, and in the experimental group, innovation has been applied through the use of flipped learning. The sample of participants has been chosen by means of intentional sampling and reached the figure of 60 students in the 4th year of Secondary Education at an educational center in Ceuta (Spain). A questionnaire has been used for data collection. The results reflect that the application of flipped learning has obtained better assessment in established attitudinal and mathematical indicators. It is concluded that with the use of flipped learning, motivation and skills are increased in the analysis and representation of graphs.

This article deals with the shadow education system of private tutoring which contributes to the reproduction of social class inequalities, focusing on the Greek public secondary education system. It presents a literature review of the issue and the findings of an empirical qualitative and quantitative research that aimed at examining the causes of the students’ massive resort to private supplementary tutoring for learning the English language, despite the fact that English is taught at school. The study also set out to examine the relationship between students’ socioeconomic background and resort to private supplementary tutoring and the relationship between socioeconomic background and knowledge of the English language as attested by official certifications. Research findings indicate that the widely spread resort to private supplementary tutoring has a negative impact on the teaching of English in Greek public lower secondary education. Using Bourdieu’s cultural reproduction theory, we argue that private supplementary tutoring makes closer the relationship between social class, familial cultural and economic capital and educational outcomes. Thus, upper and middle class students are at an advantage, since they can move to the labour market with valued educational qualifications that enhance their occupational prospects. Finally, we discuss educational measures to address the problem.

This chapter analyzes the knowledge, behaviors, attitudes and values of Spanish students in the last year of Elementary Education regarding citizenship and civility. The authors carried out quantitative research using an ex post facto and descriptive design and circumstantial non-probabilistic sampling. The technique was indirect, while the instrument was two questionnaires adapted from those used in the ICCS 2009 study. These questionnaires, which were originally intended for students in the 2nd year of Compulsory Secondary Education (14 years old students), were adapted to the 6th year of Elementary Education (11 years old). The sample analyzed was a hundred students from a state school in the Region of Murcia located. TSPSS V. 23 was used for the data analysis. The results show deficiencies in terms of knowledge in matters related to civic education and citizenship.

The main purpose of this work is to analyze the perceptions and attitudes of secondary school education units regarding the qualitative characteristics of human resources, both in relation to the existing and the desired situation so that the administration is effectively carried out in the framework of the principles of Total Quality Management (TQM) and based on the specifications that the European Model of Administrative Excellence (EFQM) defines. The survey was conducted in the framework of the quantitative research approach from April 24 to May 26, 2017 by using the anonymous written questionnaire method, which was completed by 214 secondary education teachers in the prefecture of Arcadia. The results of the survey show that moral rewards are low, while financial rewards are completely absent from school units. At the same time, there is a low level of good communication, lack of competition on a personal level, a low degree of cooperation and exchange of views and honesty, while most respondents stated that the above mentioned are quality features that they would wish to be present in school units. Finally, the majority of respondents said that the dissemination of information and the transferring of it through various techniques, the encouraging and supporting of human resources to participate in activities (educational programs, innovative actions) aimed at improving the educational unit are quality features, which the sample prioritizes as very important and imperative to be adopted by the educational units.

The evaluation of a training program is a valuable indicator of the planning followed to skillfully articulate the intervention and lines of action of any teaching process. This article describes the path taken to develop and evaluate a training program that deals with the teaching of history and the evaluation of historical competencies in Secondary Education, based on an innovative model that promotes the theory of historical thought as its main axis. This training program was implemented and evaluated with students from the Master's in Teacher Training in Secondary Education. For this purpose, a quantitative research was followed, specifically a non-experimental, descriptive design study, based on a survey. The results have been satisfactory, valuing the adequacy of the design and working model proposed. The objectives of the programme have been met, some of the best valued being those relating to learning in the design of didactic units for the teaching of history and the teaching of historical thought, which proved useful for their training as teachers. Likewise, it has been demonstrated that the learning of historical skills through the problematization of the past favors the construction of a citizenry capable of successfully dealing with the problems arising in today's society.

Employee silence is used by employee in Indonesia as the way to solve the problem. Being silent, the employee tends to withhold the information that might be necessary for the organization. The silent employee affects the work-family conflict. This research is aimed to investigate the influence of work-family conflict on employee silence of SMP Al-Hidayah Medan. Quantitative research methodology (Ary et.all, 2002) is used in conducting and analyzing the data. The data were collected by applying relevant questionnaires. There are 10 respondents in this study, consisting of 5 females (50%) and 5 males (50%). SPSS Statistics software is used in analyzing the data. The finding reveals that Work-family conflict has a significant effect on employee silence. The result also parades that Work-family conflict has contributed 84.5% to employee silence and 15.5% to other factors outside the Work-family conflict described in this study. It indicates that employee silence does not only occur cause of Work-family conflict but also by other factors. It could be the further research about the causes of employee silence.
