Chronic subdural hematoma (cSDH) is a disorder in which blood collects between the dura and arachnoid mater of meninges around the brain. It's more common among the elderly and usually triggered by a head injury. We report a case of a 78-year-old male patient who had previously been diagnosed with a left hemisphere subdural hematoma for no apparent reason with a history of hypertension. Two days before hospitalizing, he had a symptom of weakness in the right extremities. Non-contrast CT of head reveals a crescent-shaped, heterodense lesion over the lateral aspect of the left hemisphere measuring 11x5x1 cm with mass effect to the adjacent brain parenchyma. Burr hole drainage was performed for the patient. His symptoms improved after the surgery.

The unanimous passage of the Income Tax Ordinance (Amendment No. 89) Law, 1992, by the Israeli Knesset fits in a series of amendments, which, during the last four decades, have gradually eroded the principle of aggregation of income of husband and wife introduced in 1941. It constitutes a further step towards a complete system of splitting the income of husband and wife for the purpose of calculating the amount of income tax; its primary purpose, however, is apparently to equalize the rights and duties of the married woman with those of the man as far as the procedural and administrative aspects of the assessment and collection of the tax on the wife's income is concerned. The extension of the right tosplitthe income of the married couple is fairly limited. The amendment for the first time entitles the married woman to opt for a separate computation of tax not only on herearned incomebut also on her income derived fromproperty; provided, however, that such property was either owned by the wife at least a year before her marriage or acquired by her by way of inheritance. Thus, the tax burden on the married couple, which has basically remained the tax unit, has been alleviated to a limited extent only.

A physiologic reference point for measuring pressures in the circulatory system has been located by rotating dogs into all positions in space and locating the axes of rotation at which least variation in right atrial pressure occurs. This point remains extremely precise from one animal to another and also extremely precise regardless of the state of the circulation of the animal. The apparent reason for such precise localization is that the heart operates as a feedback control system for controlling the end-diastolic pressure in the right ventricle; that is, increasing the end-diastolic pressure increases cardiac output, and this automatically returns the end-diastolic pressure back toward normal. The physiologic reference point was found to be located approximately in the lower portion of the right ventricle described by the following dimensions: a) midway between the two lateral margins of the chest; b) anterior to the back 0.614 times the thickness of the chest; c) caudal to the sternal notch 0.767 times the distance from the sternal notch to the tip of the xiphoid process.

Murabaah payments can be made in cash and installments. However, often in the installment process, banks are faced with various problems, especially bad loans. The problem that often occurs in banking is customers who are able but deliberately delay their obligations to the bank. This has resulted in the possibility of the bank experiencing material and non-material losses. in sharia banks in accordance with the DSN-MUI fatwa No. 17 of 2000, if the customer intentionally delays payment for no apparent reason, the sharia financial institution has the right to impose a fine on him in accordance with the previously agreed upon agreement. The purpose of this study was to determine the system of fines on sharia financing products at BMT PAS and to determine the implementation of fines on murabahah contracts in a sharia economic perspective at BMT Purwakarta Amanah Sejahtera (PAS). This type of research is field research, the data is obtained in the field, meaning that it is direct research to obtain data from the facts that occur on the BMT PAS with a qualitative descriptive approach. The data collection technique is done by triangulation (combined), data analysis is a deductive method, namely a method that departs from general knowledge about a phenomenon (theory) and is based on general knowledge that wants to assess specific things. The results of this study indicate that the penalty system for sharia financing products at BMT PAS is by giving policies to members affected by fource majeur by freeing them to pay their financing installments. If it is found that the economic condition of the member is able to pay the debt but does not obey the installments, then the BMT PAS will impose sanctions on the member. If the analyzed member is really economically incapable, then the BMT PAS does not impose a fine or sanction on the member. The Penalty System for Sharia Financing Products at BMT PAS is in accordance with fatwa No. 17/DSN-MUI/IX/2000 concerning Sanctions for Able Customers Who Delay Payments. Because BMT PAS considers Fource majeur to be a disaster, BMT PAS will provide a solution to the member by being retrained if it cannot be fostered, then BMT PAS releases members from paying the installments and is considered to be a loss from BMT PAS. Likewise, the BMT PAS has applied fines to members who can afford it but delay payments. Sanctions in the form of fines are based on the principle of ta'zir, which aims to make customers more disciplined in carrying out their obligations. in allocating the BMT PAS fines, it also clarifies that the fines are used for social funds or community needs, both for compensation, disaster relief infrastructure and so on

This article focuses on the institutionalised relationship between a married woman and a younger woman of her lineage. This alliance implies that the older woman incorporates her clan sister into her household and later marries her off to a man of her choice, preferably her own husband or one of his (classificatory) brothers. This specific form of sororal polygyny is firmly based on rituals and the structure of kinship relation among the Bulsa of northern Ghana. Women bear the ritual responsibility for their brothers' offspring and therefore acquire the right to adopt their daughters.

A married woman, æt. 40, began to have difficulty in doing her work, complaining of headaches, which gradually became more severe. Her memory gradually failed for both recent and remote events. After about seven years walking became difficult, and finally she was bedridden, being unable to stand. A tremor of the hands developed, and it was necessary to feed, dress, and care for her. No syphilitic evidences; Wassermann negative in blood and spinal fluid. No sclerosis of peripheral arteries. Blood-pressure 160–80. Pupils irregular, the right dilated; reaction to light slow, to accommodation nil. Tactile appreciation slightly impaired; inability to localise readily for touch or space; wincing to pin-pricks. Knee-jerks exaggerated. Right ankle clonus. No Babinski. Marked tremor of hands, tongue and lips. Speech retarded and slurring. The clinical condition much resembled general paralysis, except for its protracted course and the negative Wassermann. Diagnosis, “cerebral tumour?” Died comatose at the age of 48.

SummaryRecently, there has been a proliferation of international agreements imposing minimum standards on states in respect of their treatment of foreign investors and allowing investors to initiate dispute settlement proceedings where a state violates these standards. Of greatest significance to Canada is Chapter 11 of the North American Free Trade Agreement, which provides both standards for state behaviour and the right to initiate binding arbitration. Since 1996, four cases have been brought under Chapter 11. This note describes the Chapter 11 process and suggests some of the issues that may arise as it is increasingly resorted to by investors.

Abstract The target article carefully describes the memory system, centered on the temporal lobe that builds specific memory traces. It does not, however, mention the laterality effects that exist within this system. This commentary briefly surveys evidence showing that clear asymmetries exist within the temporal lobe structures subserving the core system and that the right temporal structures mainly underpin face familiarity feelings.
